JDM next Tuesday...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm Alan from Scotland. I will pick up my 350z on Tuesday and can't wait. :) I have had a look around the forum and can tell this will be the place for lots of useful information.

I have a question...if you buy an import will you get a service book, or can nissan uk provide one?

I don't want to keep emailing the garage selling me the car - and forgot to ask at the time.

Alan.

We have enough scottish people on here now to do a remake of Braveheart!

:welcome:

Unless the previous owner got a UK service book you won't get one. You can get one from a Nissan dealer or specialist for £9.

I'm going down south for the car - 400 mile round trip but worth it for the money I'm saving. I did keep my eye on calder motors and actually visited them a few weeks ago, spoke to a guy called Dee I think.

I was on a budget, as it is a second car (X-trail is the sensible one for the wife/3kids) so am getting it from Ebony&Ivory.

Hopefully I'm not now going to get a flood of reports about them, the guy seemed really helpful and gave me a reasonable price for my BMW 523iSE.

(NOT) Patiently waiting...

As I am the first UK owner, the car was ESVA tested (or whatever it's called) and the DVLA contacted to get registration.

The garage hand delivered the documentation to the office in Beverly last Thursday, and requested a quick turnaround as a buyer was waiting to come down from Scotland. The DVLA said it should take up to 72hours.

One week later and the documents haven't arrived yet. The garage are full of apologies and are now throwing in a full tank of fuel etc for inconvenience...but I still don't have the car.

This is like being a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive! I will post back when I have some news, I've had a lot of time to read the forum and get excited about the car whilst I wait which probably doesn't help. :bang:
