  1. Mines due - end of June. Got renewal notice £215 for 12 months. But JDM.
  2. Cheers, Tonneau arrived today by UPS... One quick question...when you attach the tonneau to the strut brace what do you use? The holes currently have a pop in hook (like for a cargo net) but the hole is not threaded and none of the screws fit. Also, where do the fat screws with the white spacers go? I realise I may be being daft but I just don't see how to do it. Anyone any close up pics of their oem tonneau fitted...please. Alan.

  4. Sorry if this is not quite on topic - but I have been trying to sort out a spare key for my JDM. I have read various threads on here but am still unsure if buying a used JDM key works! I was under the impression that I could have a new blade cut for the second JDM key (bought off ebay) and then Nissan or other would be able to 'marry' the new key to my car's immobiliser. Spoke to Nissan and another locksmith - who both said the transponder chip can only be used once and cannot be made 'virgin' again to receive a new code. I am not deperate for a spare - and may just get a blank cut for access to the vehicle anyway - but I would have liked a second key which will open and start the car (but not at £200+) Has ANYONE...EVER...managed to re-programme a used key from another JDM for use on their car? Just when you mentioned the company who can retrieve the immobiliser code I thought this may be relevant to re-programming the spare key. Alan.
  5. PM sent verma Sorry R8ooner think I PM'd you by mistake too.
  6. Just checking back in to let you all know I got the car on Saturday Gunmetal FairladyZ 17000miles. I followed instructions found on here to remove the stereo and replace it with my own - quite a big job, removing the whole centre console/gauges etc! All back together and working fine thankfully. I only have one key however and would like to have a second, but I don't fancy having to spend a fortune on it. Are there any workarounds to obtain a second key or is it a Nissan dealer only? Also, possibly a stupid question but here goes... I have a flashing red light on the top of the dash and the lights blink when I lock/unlck the car - do I have an alarm as standard on a JDM or simply the immobiliser? If it's just the immobiliser then what would you recommend as a decent security upgrade? I'll post some pics when I've got the time - I only want to drive it or look at it from my window at the moment Thanks.
  7. Only 7 hours till I leave for the car!!!! V5 came through eventually so will drive throught the night to arrive sharp and collect the car. Don't think I'll bother trying to sleep
  8. (NOT) Patiently waiting... As I am the first UK owner, the car was ESVA tested (or whatever it's called) and the DVLA contacted to get registration. The garage hand delivered the documentation to the office in Beverly last Thursday, and requested a quick turnaround as a buyer was waiting to come down from Scotland. The DVLA said it should take up to 72hours. One week later and the documents haven't arrived yet. The garage are full of apologies and are now throwing in a full tank of fuel etc for inconvenience...but I still don't have the car. This is like being a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive! I will post back when I have some news, I've had a lot of time to read the forum and get excited about the car whilst I wait which probably doesn't help.
  9. Re: How did I get on? I meant next Tuesday, sorry I forgot what day it was when I posted Still a WHOLE week to go ....sadly.
  10. I'm going down south for the car - 400 mile round trip but worth it for the money I'm saving. I did keep my eye on calder motors and actually visited them a few weeks ago, spoke to a guy called Dee I think. I was on a budget, as it is a second car (X-trail is the sensible one for the wife/3kids) so am getting it from Ebony&Ivory. Hopefully I'm not now going to get a flood of reports about them, the guy seemed really helpful and gave me a reasonable price for my BMW 523iSE.
  11. Thanks for all the 'welcomes'. Jay, I'm from West Lothian near Livingston.
  12. Hi, I'm Alan from Scotland. I will pick up my 350z on Tuesday and can't wait. I have had a look around the forum and can tell this will be the place for lots of useful information. I have a question...if you buy an import will you get a service book, or can nissan uk provide one? I don't want to keep emailing the garage selling me the car - and forgot to ask at the time. Alan.
