Howie-Scotland Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hi, I'm Alan from Scotland. I will pick up my 350z on Tuesday and can't wait. I have had a look around the forum and can tell this will be the place for lots of useful information. I have a question...if you buy an import will you get a service book, or can nissan uk provide one? I don't want to keep emailing the garage selling me the car - and forgot to ask at the time. Alan. martinmac Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum. There are plenty of meets up there There is a link to a download for the service manual on here, not sure about the service book though but someone will know. Quote
Maccaman Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hi Alan & to the forum. Get some pics up when you have the car. Quote
Jay Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Welcome to the forum mate, what part of Scotland you from? Quote
Howie-Scotland Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Thanks for all the 'welcomes'. Jay, I'm from West Lothian near Livingston. Quote
nixy Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 We have enough scottish people on here now to do a remake of Braveheart! Unless the previous owner got a UK service book you won't get one. You can get one from a Nissan dealer or specialist for £9. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 it does seem that scotland is the resting place of the Zed, like the elephant grave yard. production has stopped and they are all slowly making there way tup norf. Quote
cmmd11483 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 What garage did you get the car from Alan? I recently bought my JDM from caldermotors near east calder. Quote
Howie-Scotland Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 I'm going down south for the car - 400 mile round trip but worth it for the money I'm saving. I did keep my eye on calder motors and actually visited them a few weeks ago, spoke to a guy called Dee I think. I was on a budget, as it is a second car (X-trail is the sensible one for the wife/3kids) so am getting it from Ebony&Ivory. Hopefully I'm not now going to get a flood of reports about them, the guy seemed really helpful and gave me a reasonable price for my BMW 523iSE. Quote
bronzee Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Welcome to the forum Alan. Enjoy your drive home on the big day. Quote

Howie-Scotland Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 (NOT) Patiently waiting... As I am the first UK owner, the car was ESVA tested (or whatever it's called) and the DVLA contacted to get registration. The garage hand delivered the documentation to the office in Beverly last Thursday, and requested a quick turnaround as a buyer was waiting to come down from Scotland. The DVLA said it should take up to 72hours. One week later and the documents haven't arrived yet. The garage are full of apologies and are now throwing in a full tank of fuel etc for inconvenience...but I still don't have the car. This is like being a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive! I will post back when I have some news, I've had a lot of time to read the forum and get excited about the car whilst I wait which probably doesn't help. Quote
