Just wondering what is the one thing you guys love about your cars?? Did have one for the weekend a few years ago and i did think it was fast but the thing that stood out most was the balance/handling, oh and the sound, Anyone ever had a scooby or evo before your Z's?? how would you say they compare

I've driven my dads uk300 a few times, and to be honest you can't really compare the two.

For pure rip your eyes out acceleration you can't beat the scooby, but the zed just seems to offer the best all round package, its fast, handles well, sounds awsome and looks amazing...people who run scoobies tend to be die hard fans through and through but my dad always says he can't help but be envious of my zed when its parked along side his in the drive. I guess raw power isn't everything.

I can add very little to that. The Zed is a great car that offers the complete GT package.

A scooby or evo will always "feel" much faster due to the turbo when it kicks in and off the line an "STI" version Suburu or Evo will totally trounce a 350z, mainly due to the slight power to weight advantage they have over the 350z and primarily 4 wheel drive. However once rolling a 350z will more than keep up if not edge ahead unless the scooby or evo is heavily tuned - ie over 300bhp. The mid range acceleration (which is more real life than off the line) is where the 350z is very good. When you drive a 350z it never feels as fast as it should.. until that is you look at the speedo. You will easily do over a ton and think you're doing 80. The thing about the 350z is you don't have to drive fast in it to enjoy it.

Having not driven a 350 on the open road for a few years but remembering how fast it felt accelerating from 80mph, but since having tuned my impreza wrx in 4 stages did'nt realise how much the performance of the scoob had improved until i drove a 350z foot to the floor up a motorway onslip and was just totally dissapointed, as said my car is just a wrx not an sti, its a 2006 2.5 model "hawkeye" std power 230bhp ish but ive seen power at about 270, 330, 360 and now 380bhp/405lbs.ft with over 400lbs.ft at just 3000rpm, it also sounds great, handles well, is comfortable and quite refined, looks mean as hell, and i love it, but despite all this i did recently have the urge to buy a Z,spoiler003-1.jpg

In my opinion the Zed is a GT. Will waft accross any road you throw at it while caarying a passenger and luggage in comfort and style.

It's not going to break any land speed records but it looks so good driving round the Evo Triangle or across the Highlands....

IMHO Scoobies and Evos look boring! Apart from a huge wing and alloys, they dont really excite the senses, do they?

Their interiors are generally, equally unimpressive, and it boils down to a Fast saloon car

Whereas, the 350Z is pleasing to the eye, looks sexy, goes rather fast when it wants to, and there are not many on UK roads really?!

Just my opinion, :surrender:

Spot on imo

The Z is a rare car on these roads and always turns heads. Not the fastest but i dont care at all, i just love the way it sounds and looks. :D:D

For me there's the looks, the noise, the handling, the V6 grunt, but the main thing is it is actually quite exclusive. In my drive to work I am lucky if I see one. I just love the reaction it gets wherever I go, the what is it, is it a James Bond car, all that stuff. And the fact it's not a badge snob car. :)

I know what you mean, thats why i think i got the urge to sell the scoob after over 3 years of ownership, but when i thoght about it i realised that out and out performance is NO:1 priority for me and probably could'nt live with a comparetively slow car, thats why i was considering a change to an evo, my other problem is i dont see the exclusivity because i see them on a daily basis in work.

I love the way it looks, sounds & handles. Also with a few cosmetic mods it can look even better. I never planned to keep the Z aslong as I have but its turned into a project (moneypit) now that im deadset on completing. Having said that I love scoobies, It was the car I always said I was gonna own BUT after having a ride in a friends standard WRX it left me really disapponted it felt no faster than the Ibiza Cupra I had at the time :)

Yeah std 2001>wrx not to good circa 160bhp/ton 0-60 about 6secs, spend a modest sum on bolt ons and i now have 275bhp/ton 0-60 3.8 :teeth:

I have had several cars over the past couple of years, from Bmw's to the new type r civic.Nothing has come close to the Zed for looks, handling, grunt and comfort.

Yeah I could have bought a scooby or evo but I don't think I could live with the interior of either.Like someone said it's a four door saloon hyped up.The Zed is a purpose built GT car and a very rare sight on the road.

That's why I bought one.

To think of it this way tho...

The Scooby you have had to go thru many upgrades until you were happy, whereas the Zed is pretty much spot on in unmolested form.

Most upgrades are usually visual to show the owners taste (read wheels, bodykits and misc. styling bits)

I also think that on a maintenance level a tuned scooby is just more work than a Zed.

You have a higher level of maintanace, i.e. looking after your turbo and things that run with it.

The Zed is NA, so pretty straight forward.

Just my opinion.

Have been happy with the scoob for a while now but with extra power just a bolt on part and remap away and being one that likes to keep up with my mates if we go on a run, These include: evo6 tommi makkinen, escort cosworth, pulsar gti-r, evo4 rs, evo8 mr,(least powerful of whitch is the nissan @ 320bhp & most powerfull being cosworth over 500) and the scooby boys, now 100% happy but get board owning a car over 3yrs, if i did have a 350Z id have to go down the forced induction route (turbo/supercharger) and having gone down this route in the past with massive bhp & performance gains but with poor reliability, i would be dubious of going down that road again :)

One thing though, speed is nothing, if you don't know how to control it. Fast and no skills = :innocent:

Yet again I saw a few examples of Sub and Evo drivers that should have an advantage given being 4 x4, competing at a hill climb yesterday in fairly atrocious weather, they should have had a distinct advantage, but as my above comment.

The best thing about the 350z for me is the looks and the noise. I find the driving experience a little disappointing. Its definately more of a GT than a sports car.

But as has been said before its hard to beat for the money
