matt350z Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hi Everyone, Well, I've been looking to swap cars for a few months, and on Saturday my TT finally went in exchange for a 2005 350z Roadster. Freezing cold but sunny, so drove most of the 40 miles home with the roof down. Family commitments yesterday, needing 4 seats, so the 350 had to stay at home. Got up this morning to a good covering of snow (yes I know it was forecast but how often do they get it right) and a very new driving experience. Had to do a 3 point turn on the front lawn, as in reverse I couldn't get any grip on the drive, and then crawled the 4 miles to work in 1st and 2nd, local council obviously trusts weather forecasters as much as me, as not a gritted road in sight. All this being said would I have swapped that tail twitchy half hour drive for the sure footed Quattro? Not a chance. Saturday just gave me too much to look forward too, roll on the summer Matt Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hi and Nothing like a bit of snow for a steep learning curve into rear wheel drive. Take it easy and you should be fine. Quote
martinmac Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, another roadster Quote
RobbieB Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Welcome mate! I've had the same problem! "Summer" soonâ„¢ Quote
RobD7 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Definitely a harsh day to be trying to drive it! Still, welcome to the site and look forward to plenty of years of enjoyment! Quote
stanski Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 to the club - cool (litterally !) another fellow ragtop owner! Just take your time with it - the weather will pass - it just means you get to enjoy it even more when you do get to drive out! Quote
InsanezeD Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hi and welcome aboard, oh and by the way...... Quote
matt350z Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Hi All Thanks for the warm welcome. Roads had cleared a lot by last nights journy home so much easier, icy again this morning but i wasn't going to be scared off that easily. Re pics, I'll post some as soon as we get some decent weather, the cars supposed to be Blade but at the moment seems to be a non standard Nissan colour "Frosty White" Quote
