350Z Track Monster - from Bling to Brute in 12 Easy Steps!

 

In just a few years this 350Z has transformed from a pristine example of a Nissan 350Z to a mean and lithe example of an incredibly effective track car. Aesthetics being tossed aside in the aim to gain that fraction of a second to attain the top of the podium. The question that I asked, and likely some of you are wondering also, is how did Mike go from being a hard parker to being one of the most focused time attack drivers that I have met. I mean, he is so intent and tenacious at the track that it is difficult to have a conversation with him. When the competition is over, he is more than ready and willing to talk about his car and his journey into the world of Time Attack. Sorry for misleading you, though, it actually took a lot more than 12 steps to build this race package and none of them were easy!

Been following him a few years now and referred to him and sasha in every na argument on here lol

 

Stock tb and the bend on the inlet is very restrictive on z, hence the interestinganifold sasha designed. Mike has sasha's old engine and inlet manifold with a custom 3.5" inlet pipe and maf (theyre also restrictive).

 

Hes nearly 400bhp at the fly :D

Sound is easy. Long tube headers and straight through exhaust. The lopy idle is lumpy cams.

 

My custom long tubes with burns collectors and full exhaust was £1850, cams are £1k from jwt, plus a remap. Done.

 

I wonder who'll be doing this at some point :teeth:

It is and isn't, £1850 for custom long tubes and y pipe and exhaust thats free flowing and track legal I think is a good price. PPE long tubes from torqen are more money and not as good ;) and even FI builds need and exhaust.....

 

Rather than spend near 1500 on jwt cams and springs etc I took Rick up on an offer of high comp heads, with oversize titanium valves, hollow gt high lift cams, Nismo gt double valve springs, ported polished and assembled by a nismo engineer in Japan :D

£2500 Inc. Delivery but means no bottom end work 'needed' in future.
