  1. For my shine amuse kit I've been quoted £1750 from 3 different places in different parts of the country.

  6. Morning all Can anyone recommend some decent double sided number plate foam tape? I bought some from halfords and it delaminated, useless!!! Then bought some off eBay and had the same problem. Cheers
  7. The contact cleaner was £3 I think so it's not special. Any car shop or DIY place should sell it.

    Air Con

When you turn the fans to windscreen air con comes on automatically.
  14. Suppose at the end of the day its a lottery if its not OEM. Hence why I bought shine parts due to the good reports. When I test fitted it the bumper is pretty close, the only areas where its not really right is around the lights. The gaps by the wings are because the wings have the recessed fitting that protrudes and would sit in the bolt hole in the bumper which obviously doesn't exist as its not been drilled for any holes. The bumper was that close in person I would consider fitting it myself. I'm not going to though! The skirts are a bit further away but only really seem to need openeing up a bit so they fit snuggly around the sills. We'll see how the quotes come back this weekend.

    Bodywork Quotes

To be fair I was expecting about 250 for the bumper and 150 - 200 for each skirt but not £1000. Then about £100 a panel for the stone chips sorting. I'll keep looking around and try some more places, there are loads around. Thanks for the number of the guys in Leeds and Manchester. I'm off down to see a couple more bodyshops this weekend that are a bit more local so we'll see what they come back with. Thanks again.
  16. Here is an update of the test fit I did last week, only just got round to putting the pictures together and uploading.

    Bodywork Quotes

Hopefully a quick question folks. Ive been asking round the local area for at body shops for quotes for fitting my Shine front bumper and side skirts as well as painting the bonnet and wings because they are covered in stone chips. I was hoping to try a few local places before travelling a long way to somewhere like Falcon in Middlesborough so been asking at places that people I know have been and got good results. However the few places I've asked at have given me quotes of: £1000 for the bumper and sides painting and fitting and £800 for the bonnet and wings doing That just sounds ridiculously expensive to me? Discuss. Steve
  18. I'd buy a proper brake line spanner about £4 from halfords mate. One of my nuts rounded using a normal spanner luckily the brake line spanner was still able to undo it. Otherwise it would have been a nightmare.
  19. Sorry Dave, He's said the lowest he can accept is £120. If he changes his mind I'll let you know. Cheers Steve
  20. Wow!!! I wish I could afford somewhere like that Congratulations mate I hope you enjoy living there, love that house!
  21. Not yet mate, was having a good look at them today and how you said yours were mounted so think I'll be copying when I get it all fitted Really considering making the trip to falcon its just how to transport the bloody bumper as it won't fit in the zed. Could always tape it on lol
  22. Well bit of an update on this one. I'll post some pics up tomorrow. I test fitted the bumper and skirts tonight and they seem to me to be pretty much spot on. The bumper I think needs a very small amount of material around the light removing and the skirts possibly need opening up a bit as they are very tight to get around the sills. I'm now far more Amused and realise its prob the body shop who couldn't be bothered to do FRP!
  23. Definitely sounds like air, mine went the same when I fitted the HEL lines. My first attempt at bleeding didn't get all the air out so I had to do them again.
  24. What rpm does your car idle at? I typically see 28-30psi at 700ish rpm. 15 is rather low. The only car I've known to be lower than that was one where pressure was being read at the top of the engine and that was 12. Not sure what pressure drop you see on the zed from pump to top of the heads?
