  1. How do I reset my ECU ? Not all of us are techies. I take the point that it is a bit of a pain, but if allows extra gains from 'extra air' mods then it sounds a good start. Could alwasy reset it just before a big run out and then just leave it to trim the rest of the time if I understand it correctly - which I'm doubting as this stuff is just so confusing. First thing I was told was replace the plenum or fit a spacer, others since have said this sometimes loses power !! Oh for a definitive answer once in a while.
  2. I'm not going to re-iterate others comments. Save to say we are all petrolheads and once again it's a farce all round. Decisions have got to be made on the day, end of. The watching public need to be able to watch a fair race and know what is what, with a definitive result at the end of it. Bias etc can be argued, but it just has to be transparent and same rules apply. Even us hard core fans are getting disillusioned - and that mark's the end of the road. FIA you have been warned!
  3. I couldn't stand the stock 'stones. Felt really slippy, especially in wet. just couldn't get traction. Swapped for Toyo's - amazing. However the rear is very floaty on std set up in my opinion especially over fast bumpy roads. East Shore Racing advised me that the std set up is quite soft and is major casue of back end stepping out, especially over bumps. They had changed to full coilovers and the difference was absolutely amazing when I test drove theirs. ESR reckoned it was set up so well it was virtually impossible to get back end out without being completely reckless. Coilovers will be my very next project when I have a spare grand - which might not be for quite a while !
  4. Download this and give it a clean. I dont like AVG either and from my experience that may well be the trouble. http://www.ccleaner.com/download Also IE8 is out now Mine's fine after posting, but the site doesn't like running on IE8, has compatibility issues and runs in IE7 safe mode. Doesn't affect the wonderful new experience though.
  5. Looks more Professional if a bit busy. Can't thank the people responsible enough though for putting in time an effort. A little constructive feedback would be that I used to love seeing the latest top 10 and who had posted them last (realise the recent stuff is there, but no member info)- miss that bit. I am also running the very latest windows exploerer and the site isn't compatible with it. Luckily it can default to running in IE8 mode. Loads of improvements though. Great work. And thanks on behalf of all us members who enjoy using the site for free.
  6. +1 £14k for exhaust £16k for brake pads £35k for replacement disc's and pads. Under 60K for a car capable of 3.5 0-60mph can't really be said to be insane. Where into Porsche Turbo, Lambo Gallardo territory here with prices north of £100k before speccing. Running costs of all supercars are crippling but presume the GT-R will be cheaper again to run than the equiavlents mentioned. Mates Gallardo has lost £40k in 18months, needed a new clutch after 5k of town driving - apparently average - and servicing bills are the same as a luxury holiday for a family of 4 ! He thinks the GT-R is the bargain of the century.
  7. Interior is sooo much better. quality of plastics etc is getting near Audi standards rather than Tata quality of current 350. Agree on Exterior of basic model but just look what you can do with a decent colour and a few plastic bits: http://s680.photobucket.com/albums/vv162/drewbieh/ Can't wait for Roadster.
  8. I have these and found they stuck OK. Most probably depends what was on the dash in the first place. Most dash treaments leave behind a silicone based protection which plays havoc with adhesives. The only way to clean thoroughly before application is by using an isopropyl alcohol based wipe ( usually found in some pre injection wipes ). Hard to get hold of now as Pharmicists have been benned from selling it in a bottle. CD cleaner is usually same stuff. Worth a try.
  9. I'm with Chirs....just the best looking car I have ever seen and now with the sound and power to match.
  10. Best Wishes to the whole (now extended) Sarnie clan.
  11. Just had a thought. Why was your car dirty Good point Martin. Report him to the Zed police !!

    So.. Tyres?

Falkens great for the money, Top of the range Toyo's awesome - grip levels through the roof (what I have settled with), and you can never go wrong with Michelin Pilot Sports.

    Wider Tyres

I didn't like the RE040s in anything but dry. RE050 are much better if you want 'stones. I run Toyos and find them excellent in all weathers. It's all personal preference though. Stew is bang on as always. Stock tyres were usually RE040s which sucked in anything but bone dru conditions. RE050s are much better. I swapped to Toyo's all round when I wsapped wheels and have never looked back. Love 'em.

    Wider Tyres

The short answer is no. If you want better grip, and assuming you are on stock Bridgestones which are truly awful, the best way to go is get some Toyo's or Mich Pilot Sports. The difference will be amazing, both wet and dry.
  15. +1!! Personally I find KFC for lunch and then Nando's dinner just about a perfect day - why chose when you can have both?
  16. the beauty of good quality watch's is they can easily be converted back to cash if required..I have sold the Jaeger Lecoultre recently and it made a healthy profit (bottom row 2nd from the right ) Yeah I know but that's a hard sell to the missus at the minute. Can you imagine trying to get a £30k AUdemars Piguet past her with the line that 'it's a sound investment as it holds it's value' ! My mate worked for Cartier, though, so my steel and 18ct gold Santos only cost me £1400 as he got it on his staff discount. Has a shop price of £3K+ so I'm well in profit if I ever needed to sell it. Love it though so things would have to be desperate.
  17. Lovin' the Breitling. I'm afraid the credit crunch has brought a halt to my collection, but still looking for when the good times come back
  18. Very nice. Going to stop with the wind ups (get it )as were getting off topic. Safe to say every guy should have (at least) one good watch, and that 350Z watch ain't in the running. .
  19. Humble apologies, although I had you down as a serious player with an Augemars Piguet, aren't Rolex's a little obvious and '80s?
  20. I agree with Jay's first point. Sooooooo naff as per most merchandising. As to Jay's second line - I find the necessity to let slip that he own's a very nice Omega rather distasteful. On the other hand it could be just because I haven't got one, having to make do with Tag, Brietling and Cartier
  21. Zedrush hits it bang on the nail. Other things that happen when on 'roids are that you end up with way too much testosterone rushing round your system turning you into a rather aggrssive individual - ironic since they do it for insecurity reasons and to get the girls, and then usually can't hang on to them as they make excessive sexual demands and pick fights with anyone who look at them funny. Like being a teenager again but with 4 times the hormones - so that means you also get the spotty face, water retention and spotty back too. From chatting to girls in the gym, they take an interest in the freaks but much prefer I more rounded boyfirend who takes care of himself and is nicely toned.
