  1. FULL STORY : Cristiano Ronaldo escaped unharmed after writing of his Ferrari yesterday - rumours are that he dived from car before it hit the barrier! The first thing he said to the police was that the wall was not 10 yrds away! Alex Ferguson is claiming that Ferrari does not give Ronaldo enough protection.Witnesses at the scene of Ronaldo's crash say he was only lightly tapped from behind, when all of a sudden the car flipped and rolled over 10 times! Apparently witnesses in other cars who saw the incident, said that Ronaldo's car was accelerating towards the tunnel, when it suddenly and inexplicable seemed to flip over, with absolutely no contact with any other vehicles. The police arrived, and immediately following directions from Ronaldo, arrested the nearest car driver. Police are investigating why a player voted the worlds best, and earns £140000 per week cannot take a corner. "Anyway he was all right, he was walking", added the witness, confirming that Ronaldo is the only man in Manchester who walks away from massive car smash but spends five minutes writhing in agony if someone pulls his socks down!
  2. At least tell us what you've bought. I take it that it's now a coupe ?
  3. Congratulations. I got rid of my sporty number when Lauren was born 9 years ago. Too tired to miss it for the first 2 yrs at least ! Once she started school and din't need the entire contants of Mothercare following us round in the boot I started looking again. She's 9 and Zed is no problem so long as you have a family car as well - she loves me picking her from school in summer with the roof dropped.
  4. What they should be is changed for a set of 19" alloys with 275's. Tyres grip, Power goes down, Zed goes forward quickly
  5. definitely peasants, hence class system bit, local estate - ie council ( but also called the same when shooting pheasants) etc etc. bit of a play on words and often too clever for most. I'll get back to my Telegraph crossword now.
  6. Class system still exists in Cheshire Although if I'm honest the police ask us to not to exceed the gentleman's agreed quota. They breed like rabbits on the local estate anyway so don't think they get missed.
  7. I've got her a brand new Mondeo Titanium X as a family car, but I sometimes need it for the space and height ( shoot clays and peasants which are generally located down farm tracks etc ). When I do, she gets mine. Its also had it's front bumper scraped twice. She was so scared she paid well over the odds for a body shop to do it the same day before I saw the damage. Luckily just scratches so far ! Must get a mini meet for local Manchester crowd going soon. Too long until the Wales meet.

    Alloy tanks

ENVY definitely did them in stainless steel, don't know whether they were polished or brushed. Also have all the piping etc if you want to go the whole hog.
  9. Spacers definitely not required on 19" Nismos, they're built in. Falkens seem very good value and plenty of owners like them. I wanted the best I could get and have been massively impressed with my Toyo's - they give amazing wet weather grip and check out the tread pattern ! Don't last too long but that's 'cos they're sticky and grip like baby plop to a wool blanket. No kerb protection though and my wife has already added a textured finish to every single rim
  10. Welcome to the club and to the best bit, which is actually ownign a Zed. Sounds like you got an amazing deal. I bought new just over a year ago and have lost a small fortune. Shame as I really fancy a 370z but the difference is just going to be too wide. Need to wait for mine to age a little more and hopefully slow down the depreciation. As for the aerial, I like to stick to how the Nissan Gods first made it - and wind everyone else up on the site. Sends 'em all fuuny when they see an original but I think it looks fine. Loads of Mods and money can soon disappear, you cam literally do anything. Engine Mods very difficult if you want to get real gains - Induction kits etc have no effect on bhp as ECU resets itself. Gains can be had but very expensive and starts getting into piggy back ecu's etc. Watch your warranty ! That 3 yr warranty can disappear very quickly if Nissan decide it's been modded and they can align blame for the fault there. Also don't forget to let you insurers know, and that might give you a nasty surprise ! Have fun though. Awe3some car and great bunch of owners if this club is anything to go by. Meets are well worth it, especially if you want to see a wide range of Mods and get some great advice.
  11. PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT. TRUST ME. It's a pig of a job unless you're going to strip the bumper off, and that's not too easy unless you already know eher all the clips and stuff are. Makes it an expensive change of plastic though.
  12. There's a bit on the Top Gear website as well that got added today. Looks the dogs. Only a lottery win is going to get me one though - which is ironic 'cos my credit score is top notch and I pay all my taxes. Kerry Coked-up is bankrupt and owes the tax man yet can afford a brand new GT-R. How's that then ?
  13. Glad it's sorted, went threw something similar myself as a lad - except I hit a cop car ! no reg plates, no baffles. got off but can't say how. Then got hot hatch instead due to parental pressure. Won't tell you more as you'll just worry ( especially if you found out I totalled that on a diesel coated bend, hit kerb, flew sideways through air and cut car in half 4 inches behind front seats using a lampost as a cheese wire ). Only got better with age when the feeling of immortallity totally wore off. Well that and deciding to take up kart racing to let off my need for speed and teach me to drive quickly but safely. Still don't take the ESP off though, every now and then it'll just lend a hand and calm me down - old habits. Personally I still can't believe your old enough to have a kid that can drive
  14. At first I thought it very disappointing that it's such a heavy car, thinking how much faster it would be if it had gone on a diet. But when I keep seeing these pictures and youtube videos I'm so impressed by how strong they are. Guess the strength is part of the weight. If they had kept the strenght but used lighter components the cost would be through the roof ( carbon fibre/titanium etc).
  15. crisp winter morning. beany hat, scarf, seat heaters all on, roof down. Can't beat it ! Don't drop it whilst fabric is frozen though, mate ripped his doing that and they wouldn't cover it under warranty ( typical Nissan CS )
  16. I bought a brand new 350z last October. Clutch bite point is high. Gerabox is also well known to be 'notchy', especially when cold. Usually desribed as a 'man's' car because it has a fairly heavy clutch and stiffish gearbox. Shouldn't make any grinding noises though. Usually it needs a good clunk getting it in gears, especially second when compared to lower powered jap runabouts, but shouldn't be anything too obvious. At the end of the day the car has 300bhp going through the clutch. The bigger the bhp the shorter the clutch life, even when sports clutches are used like in the 350Z. Clutches can start to go from 35k if driven enthusiastically ! Could be worse though, my mates brand new Lambo gave up it's clutch after 4k miles. Dealership said this was fair wear and tear - it expects about 3k if driving just round town....ouch. Lots of bargains out there at the minute. If your not happy then just keep looking. Regards
  17. Mark - Looks soooooooo cool. Worth the wait. Looking forward to dribbling on it during a meet.
  18. Can't belive they still haven't sorted it. you have the patience of a saint. Having met your beautiful but forthright partner I can imagine the 'discussions' - guessing they are similar to those I used to have in mine. Let's just say heated and at times unhelpful. God bless sat nav, even if it is a tomtom. To be honest I optioned everything on mine bar the satnav. I just can't get my head round paying 4 figures for a built in, but usually inferior version of something I can get for £200. Same went for my new Mondeo. My Road Angel updates whilst driving, including real time traffic info + every speed camera going. Cost £200. And will swap between cars. Less specced version in both my cars would have cost over £3k. Doesn't add up in my view. Still you have a great motor with everything else now bang on. Can see why this is would finish it off nicely. Keep the faith. D
  19. Tried to but getting too old. set sky+ and then watched it first thing this morning before I got wind of the result from radio/tv/internet. Good fight, certainly got our monies worth. Wish Joe would keep a better guard up though.
  20. come on, anticipation is one thing, but it can quickly get to frustration. We NEED to see the photo's ! Pretty Please
  21. 2 is almost always better than one.......I'm getting old and take every opportunity offered. count me in for the over-nighter if it comes off.
  22. Just wanted to say a proper goodbye to everyone that turned up - I couldn't do the final services stop as we had to get back to our abandoned daughter for 6pm. It was a great day with fantastic weather and it's a shame a few more didn't make it. Special thanks as always to the organiser - great event again. Roll on next May for the next one.
