  1. I'd go less than that, I wouldn't want to pay more than £5K considering it's a Cat C. The only thing I will say is that if you had loads of photos and receipts of the damage/work done and it was fairly easy to see that it should've been a D rather than C in terms of damage caused then I may go a bit higher, but not by much.
  2. They'll be fine, it's referring to a cat as a generic piece of equipment rather than a specific OEM one.
  3. It'll fail. Good spot there, although obviously not so good for the JDM owners! Another key point is that the driver's seat must move forward or backward, so no more fixed seats. Maybe not a huge issue for the likes of us, but what are Atom owners supposed to do? Or X-Bow owners?
  4. Cheaper than EleMiral? Okay, I'm seriously impressed, they'll definitely be getting a call in a couple of weeks from me
  5. I can't stand bodykits on a car. However, that looks so wonderfully angry that if I think bad thoughts about it I suspect it may come and kill me in my sleep. Gorgeous.
  6. Did your missus not mind that you'd nicked her dildo to put in your car?
  7. I've a pair of bookshelf speakers of a similar size (Kef iQ60s) for the rears on my setup, and I've attached them to their stands very well so that the speakers won't come off the stands, but that still means that the stands can be knocked over and take cables etc with them. Nothing I can do about that, but as they are rear speakers they're right at the back of the room and hard to get to in the first place. Aside from nailing everything down, you can only do so much sadly.
  8. Exactly the same company, if you can't or don't want to swap sides of the same office then Elephant will price match the Admiral quote for you. They're a bit limited as to what mods they will allow before premiums start getting silly, and their claims procedure is fair to middling, but they're so cheap right now I can put up with a certain amount of crap! I'm with Admiral, the other half was with Elephant but has now switched to Admiral too.
  9. You do understand how a lottery works, right? There is an equal chance of all numbers being drawn, so it really doesn't make much difference if you have two almost identical tickets. If anything you've got a better chance of winning decent money as whatever you do win has a good chance of being doubled up now. If it does bother you that much then I'd probably not use their Lucky Dip next time, and just make your own numbers up.
  10. SMD, that is f***ing awesome, great job fella Now where can I find a missus that would let me get away with one of those in the living room...!
  11. Just to add one thing to the cons list, which applies more to an engine swap than a TT/SC kit, and that's to write off the very vast majority of the cost of the whole shebang. A TT/SC'd car is relatively easy to put back to stock and if you buy second hand (which, it has to be said, most people do these days) then you'll reclaim most of what you spent. The time & cost of putting an LS'd Zed back to stock is going to be horrendous unless you have the ability to completely DIY it, and if you leave it all in then you'll never reclaim anything of what you spent when selling the car on. Well, maybe a grand or two, but certainly nothing substantial. That said, this was the only mod I ever gave serious consideration to doing when I had my Zed. Crate engine was approx £10K, I figured another £4K for bits and then another £2K on top for a garage to finish off the bits I couldn't, plus 10% just in case. Trouble was that would then have left me with a car that would've been nigh-on unsellable not to mention doing all the other bits you really should do for 400bhp+ (suspension, brakes etc) and my car was already well modified in that aspect at a serious cost. You have to really love your Zed, want to keep your Zed forever and/or have a stupid amount of money to burn before considering this IMHO, as you'd be far better off just buying a quicker car in the first place (TVR if you want the V8 sound + speed, 996TT if you want the speed + luxury). And despite all that, I would love for someone to give it a go over here as I think it's a far more interesting project than just slapping a couple of turbos to a car.
  12. Do it, OEM one is very restrictive.
  13. Odd, I was thinking the same about the GTR!
  14. Lols, blame the autocorrect for that brilliantly unintended slip there!
  15. Loads of room for four soft bags, you'll be fine
  16. Possibly moisture getting into a coilpack as well if it's only happening first thing.
  17. It's absolutely bloody horrible and I actively avoid forums that have it. It makes everything look untidy and as soon as you flick a mouse over a title it then blocks up half the page and you spend all your time trying to position the cursor in a place where it's not touching anything just so you can read the damn screen. Horrible, irritating design. If we must have it then please give us the option to turn it off (only run it on the 350 or 370 setting?), but please don't make it compulsory.
  18. Pretty good cheers mate, I'm just about recovered from the wedding on Xmas Eve, which went rally well with no hiccups at all! The wife is now downstairs making me some dinner, so I think I've just about got her trained too
  19. Ah, I wondered why I found that free in the app store earlier...!
  20. I've been using Espuma Revolution at 10:1 on my polished lip wheels for well over a year now, and have had zero side effects with it. Well, apart from very clean wheels of course!
  21. Basically, they're the best tyre you can buy for any car right now period, go treat your car to them Greekman runs them on his Zed, he'd be able to give you more details if you need, but nothing else you can buy will even get close to the PSS.

    tyre 3 way...

At that price point, I'd only be looking at the VUS or the Contis. Pirelli tyres are absolutely gash for feel these days sadly so I wouldn't even consider them, I've never used the Contis but have yet to hear a bad thing about them, but I have tried the VUS and adore them. Outright grip isn't massive (certainly not a patch on the Bridgestones you're currently running) but you do get masses of feedback through them so you can really exploit the chassis. That said, if you're happy with what you've got on now (and the RE050s are better than all the others you mention), don't bother changing. Stick with what you know if you're happy with it.
  23. Exactly, schoolkids! They don't know any better though, proper adults really should.
