  1. Let him go. Better he drives into someone else than drives into you, and then you're as bad as him for entering that part too. I do totally understand how you feel though, it's the same as people who get into the inside lane on a roundabout to go straight ahead because they don't want to queue in the left lane like everyone else. Cnuts.
  2. Okay, so this thread is really going to make me sound like a right old git, but I'm going to post it regardless! From the start of this year, I haven't listened to a single bit of music in any vehicle I've driven. I got so sick of either modern crappy music (Radio 1, my usual station) and I also can't stand adverts (which rules out the otherwise quite good Absolute Radio), which just leaves the music I have on my iPhone. Nowt wrong with what's on there, but I'm a trifle board of listening to the same songs over and over on that so I've left it firmly in my pocket and turned any and all ICE firmly off. No big light shining from the centre console in any of my vehicles: Not the Porker, not the truck, not even the wife's Scooby when I drive it. All off. And you know what? It's far more enjoyable. I don't have irritating radio presenters tattling on about some sh*t (Martin & Sue on Heart, I'm looking at you here) nor do I have to flick stations when pretty much anything from the Top 40 is on. More importantly I realised just how distracting it actually is having the music on in the background: My forward planning has improved markedly, and I'm now anticipating other drivers' movements far better that before. You also get to hear every little noise from your vehicle too, which in my case has lead to the discovery that my truck is actually quite a noisy place to be, and doesn't half make some odd noises from the engine bay! You guys will probably get some better sounds than me, having nice V6 petrol powerplants for your daily commute rather than a diesel lump like I have. I find myself driving in a more relaxed manner too. I don't speed anyway so my max speed for any given road hasn't changed, but my movements are now more gentle and slower paced, and I'm giving myself much more time to make any overtakes or lane changes. It's a lovely experience, and it reminds me what driving must've been like before you could have ICE at all. Or if you own a Caterham. It also gives you a lot more time to think, and my brain is a very strange place sometimes which has, on occasion, led to me having a full on argument with myself whilst pootling along! It's nice though, just having yourself for company at times and being able to have some time just to think things through properly. I'm only a couple of weeks in so far, but as it stands I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I seem to arrive at work far more refreshed than previously, and I'm more alert when I get home. Seriously, give it a try, even if only for a week. I suspect you'll either enjoy it like I am, or find you'll enjoy the music much more once the week is up.

  4. Bog standard alignment could be done for under £100, but for a decent setup I'd be looking at twice that, perhaps three times for the very best. Abbey would certainly be my choice in your area, but if you fancy a drive then Dixon at DMS in Erith have had my business in the past and would do so happily again.

  6. Pics of Page Three Stunnas on the walls. No garage is complete without them

  8. I only found one still for sale at a fraction below yours, and one for £180 which has already sold. £350 is a good price for a 7-stringer in good nick, if I had the spare cash I might even have tempted to add a 7-string to my collection. But I don't. So I can't.

  10. You must have JLR on speed dial by now!

  12. Just because it's a drift car or a race car, doesn't mean it has to look like it was thrown together like a kiddy playing with Duplo bricks. It's a great feat of engineering, but instead of us sitting here and congratulating the guy about this we're moaning about the shut lines FFS! That's why we wear a suit and tie to job interviews, because first impressions count.

  14. All true, except he's on the RE050As which are a far, far superior tyre to the RE040s
  15. I know exactly what you're talking about, and you're right to hold off on the tyres for now. Get yourself a set of adjustable ARBS (Eibach are very good from experience) and then the full set of underbody bracing (IIRC there's two braces at the front, one giant one in the middle and another one at the rear) from GT Spec or Summit. The bracing alone will give you far more feedback and also sharper steering at the front end, whilst the back will give you a tighter rear end for more control when it does break loose. Also a good set of adjustable A-arms on the front suspension and camber arms for the rear will enable a more positive geo to be done on the car, allowing even more fine tuning. Do that, then do the suspension if you're still not happy. I suspect you will be though, as from your previous posts I can tell you're a man after my own heart where feel from the car is above all else.
  16. Sentences were fine, racism shouldn't make a difference in a murder trial, killing someone is killing someone regardless of because of race, for money, or any other reason. Life should mean life, not a minimum term of X years. We should be putting pressure on politicians to change that law, not picking holes on whether 14 years is too much or too little for the life of this particular guy.
  17. Rio needs putting down, lame old horse now sadly. For the neutral, it was a cracking game to watch, just a shame City couldn't get draw.
  18. I wouldn't say that, the 355 isn't that much worse in terms of chassis, but tech does move on and the 355 is starting to feel its age now sadly. Great looking cars, and even better sound, but ageing albeit gracefully.
  19. Exactly, under the gaitor attached to the shaft itself
  20. You'd be surprised, a 355 is old now and I'd expect a 350 to have a substantially better chassis, it's more the mid-enginedness of the Fezza that will make it feel more planted.
  21. Sounds about right as a trade in tbh. Dealer needs to make a profit somewhere, so they'll a grand and a half on that and be prepared to be haggled down the £500.
  22. Pop a cable tie underneath and trim it, it will hold the gaiter up
  23. Duct tape it is then, you can always peel that back off before you sell it
  24. Toyo (for example, easy website to navigate hence my use of them here for an example!) don't recommend anything over 255 on an 8.5" rim. I can't find the wheel size for OEM F355 rears, but if they're 10" then they'd be more than happy with 295 on the back. Did you try running the wheels with those tyres without the spacers? How much power are you putting down now? If you really need more grip from your tyres, you'll either need to consider larger wheels or moving to a better tyre: What tyres are you using now?
  25. Passed new MOTs in the last week? Fair enough, good for them.
