  1. I find sessions more hectic, as you find people driving flat out for 20 mins as they feel they need to get their money's worth regardless of how they or the car is fairing. Not so bad on single-marque owner's club days (vx220.org at Anglesey with BaT was a highlight), but on mixed days it can be a little more iffy. When doing open pit, I just avoid the first 30 mins in the morning, let the nutters go out and go mental for a bit before you go out.
  2. Absolutely agree with this, but when I get insurance it's not because I'm worried about myself, it's to protect my pride and joy from someone else being an idiot. That's where the real risk lies IMHO, in someone else driving like a tit and hitting you.
  3. I always leave to find fuel: Trackside petrol is very expensive! I used to take jerry cans, but now I just leave the circuit and top up at lunch. I've normally done 3/4 a tank by then anyway, and it means I get to avoid the horrendous queues for lunch. Just keep an eye on your rear tyres, as they'll go first. Usually LHS if the track is anti-clock, and RHS if it's clock. As long as you don't rock up with 3mm left, you'll be fine.
  4. It will indeed, if it ever gets made.
  5. I can promise you two things if you start doing track days: 1. Even if it's your first time, you will not be the slowest car on track. 2. If it's your millionth track day and you car has a billion bhp, you will not be the quickest thing on track. I've never tracked the 911 without insurance. I had cover for the Zed, but I don't have it for the MX5 or MR2. You're unlikely to write a car off on a trackday, so if you can afford a repair bill of around £5K on a Zed then I wouldn't bother. If not, then definitely worth considering insurance.
  6. Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan
  7. Okay, all updated I think, let me know if I've missed anything. Also please let me know if any of my other times are wrong, and I'll change them. Sorry about that guys, I honestly wasn't trying to cheat anyone. And if I was, I'd damn as hell make sure I was making myself look better than last place anyway!
  8. That's probably correct, if I'm honest. Which interestingly brings me to a nice little moan about F5, if that's the case. I suspect I set that lap whilst on the 'tune car' testing, which is why it may not be showing up. That's seriously irritating, as it was a clean lap with no fiddling of settings between corners or anything daft like that, so there's no reason it shouldn't count legitimately. In fact, that's a real kick in the teeth I'll edit my time on here to reflect the time you've mentioned, and I'll have to just go and do it again. F*cksocks
  9. That's a good idea, you get to stay in bed all day whilst people wait on you hand and foot
  10. Bedford or Anglesey are ideal for beginners. Don't be put off by the distance to Anglesey, it's my favourite track and I love it there. Go with a decent TDO like Bookatrack and you won't get any idiots there.
  11. Filmed in portrait, instant death by stoning.
  12. Never did that for me on the 360. Granted, may not be quite as pretty if you're not installing mods, but at least it's playable with all the DLC on.
  13. You don't even want to know the cost of the Beissbarth system then...!
  14. What was your oil level when the light first came on?
  15. I still say you're getting a geo for your money, and they're just using a generic term to avoid confusion. But hey, if I'm wrong and they're just going to put the lines in the green then that's a massive rip-off.
  16. I'd rather have an '8 than a '7. Seriously. Not sure why, as the 7 is prettier & has more power, they've both got fragile engines etc. There's just something about the 8 that I find more appealing. Maybe it's the fact they haven't got a turbo and most of them don't have ugly bodykits stuck to them like the 7s, or maybe it's the fact they're so cheap now they'd make a great track toy Yeah, I'm odd. I know.
  17. We need to clarify the whole alignment/geo thing here. £150 is very expensive for an alignment. £150 is a good price for a geo. Using Beissbarth gear, I suspect Will is getting the latter. That's my very poor terminology usage in my first post.
  18. Oh well, if it's on Facebook it must be true! Fingers crossed it is, I reckon they could be a good owner but only if they truly understand the Ring.
  19. I await confirmation with interest. Nowt on any major news website, nor STR, Capricorn or the Ring itself, but then I don't have all the insider contacts you do.
  20. RX8 is a good one, hadn't thought of that
  21. Coupes can now have four doors too, just to confuse things (CLS!). I think of swoopy lines when I think of coupes, so while the GT-Rs may technically be coupes I will continue to view them in my mind as saloons due to the boxy shape of them. That makes me wrong, I know, but there you go.
  22. But nobody wants to be a plumber! I don't know anyone who enjoys it as a career. Oi, I resemble that comment! I mostly sit in a warm office these days, being sarcastic on the internet whilst eating donuts and telling other people what to do. Works for me!
