I'm talking about 10-12 years ago, before it became too scripted. That was the perfect balance between humour (Clarkson in the Atom) and a decent review (the CGT springs to mind).

That makes no sense! What bit do you not agree with? Broadly speaking, it used to focus on the cars and the driving experience a lot more, but now it focuses on the set pieces and editing in the main.

I guess if you remember the days when TG used to review cars, before YT or Drive or anything else existed, and you remember that Clarkson was quite good at it, then you'll be more than a little peeved with what the show has become. if you don't remember those days, and turned up to the party when TG became all about the slapstick humour and impressive camera work, you'll wonder why everyone keeps moaning about it.

Qashqai is a good shout, mate has one and is happy enough with it. Plenty of toys, too!

Apart from looking stunning, I just don't get the excitement for PCars. There's some glaring track omissions, a very limited set of cars, zero mods, and the physics look sketchy at best. If this was the greatest handling racer ever, why aren't the PC beta lads going nuts over it? Why are they still going back to Assetto Corsa et al? I think we're going to get stiffed with something very pretty, but something a bit dull. Now Rainbow Six, on the other hand... Just please don't ruin it!

Anything would look better than the OEM ones on there atm!

I've no doubt they're great cars in terms of practicality, but if even the silver BMW owner says they're dull...!

I actually had to google what a CR-V looks like. My god, what a bland, boring, white good of a car that is! Please, get something more interesting!

If it was entertaining then I could forgive it not actually telling us anything about the cars, but it's not. SMD is spot-on, the cinematography is second to none, but the scripting and presenting is dire. I haven't watched it for years as I went right off it, however I thought I'd give it a punt last night. What I saw reinforced my reasons for not watching it in the first place. Is that not fair enough? Some videos on YT et al manage to be funny, entertaining, artistic AND tell you something about the cars. Why can't TG do it? Anyways, I'll leave this thread now, as clearly TG is not aimed at folks like me.

The Huracan review might've been decent if they'd spent less money on flashy cut always and fancy editing, and more time talking about the actual car. How does it feel, how just it handle, steering, suspension, power, talking about any of these would've been a start!

He's had that a couple of years at least. 760 to his spec, lovely thing.
