  1. If you don't vote, you can't complain. That in itself is the most British reason ever to vote.
  2. There's rain, then there's Malaysia rain.
  3. @Ilogikal: Agreed, but how many other people hide injuries or illnesses from their bosses every single day? I bet he wasn't even the only pilot still flying today when they've been signed off.
  4. I said unpopular, not rubbish. I agree with you, economically they've done an excellent job, it's just that a lot of people have very short memories and forget why things went belly up.
  5. Again, that's the wrong assumption to make. He may well have been perfectly sane.
  6. That's a dangerous assumption to make. That's why people struggle to understand mental health problems in general, with the assumption that someone must be completely deranged to do things like this.
  7. Looks like it'll be Bosrerg, Lewis disn't look great in P3.
  8. It was, it's also why Labour remain neck and neck with the most unpopular government in my lifetime. They should be miles ahead in the polls, but they're not.
  9. What's really disturbing is the fact that it wasn't a dive to kill everyone immediately, but a gradual descent into hell. I think that's what a lot of people struggle to comprehend. We don't even know if it was depression yet: The minimal amount of info we have could mean he'd been diagnosed with cancer or something equally serious, and he just couldn't cope with that news. I'm not saying that's what I believe, just that we cannot assume depression at this point.
  10. I used to have a farly decent Karcher, but when it burst its guts P I decided that I wanted to replace it with something indestructible. Karcher is around £200 with average internals, the Kranzle is £350 with bulletproof internals. For me, and the amount I use it, I want something that will be completely reliable for many years.
  11. Wendy, control of the aircraft from the ground never took off due to fears about it being hacked and aircraft crashed on purpose. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, tbh.
  12. I actually think that CMD has a pretty good idea of the real world, he just doesn't come across that way. He has more experience with the NHS than most people would ever want to, but still gets portrayed as the NHS killer. Milliband would be far more credible if he ditched the union support altogether, and stopped aiming all the evils of the world at the door of business. Labour should be smarter than that now, which is why Blair was so successful in the first five years.
  13. Very. New engine is about 1/5 of that cost, and there's no inherent issues with either the DE or HR engines. They'll go on forever, if you look after them with decent oil and sensible changes intervals.
  14. Oh well if cost is no issue, then get a Kranzle. Just not the one Dan suggested... (only because I don't want him to be right all of the time ). *smugface*
  15. Kranzle. Accept no substitute. 7-122 for me. Superb piece of kit, it really is.
  16. Bloody good to drive though, irritatingly enough. Even the diesel one I had was pretty fun, albeit a bit nose heavy.
  17. This board doesn't care what dictionary you have installed on your browser
  18. I think if they did, the world would explode. Or even better/worse, put them both on treadmills and see if they would take off...
  19. Low mileage cars are a good idea if you're never going to drive them. If you have any intention of putting anything close to average miles on them, then you lose your 'investment' straight away and it was pointless paying the premium.
  20. Come the last election CMD was pretty down to earth I thought, but he definitely seems to have gone the wrong way just to appear the complete opposite to Wallace. To look at it in another light, imagine if Milliband was PM and there was a genuine crisis with us vs Russia: Putin would kick him all over the place. He has absolutely zero presence when putting him up on the world's stage.
  21. Fair enough point. Like I said, I can't explain it myself tbh, maybe it's just because any incidents are so incredibly rare and completely out of my hands that it's not something I remotely worry about. Maybe enjoy was the wrong word, but has this stopped you from ever flying again? Or considering it, at least?
  22. That's a shame if true mate, no-one should stop doing something they enjoy just because of one lone nutcase. Are you never going to fly again then? Security at airports is all for the media, trust me when I say it's an utter sham and makes no difference if someone is dead keen on doing some harm.
  23. Ignore whether you're getting a better car or not, or whether a low mileage car is better than yours. Look at it like this: IT'S AN 11 YEAR OLD 350Z FOR NINE THOUSAND POUNDS On no sensible planet is that a good deal in the first place. Alarm bells should be ringing big time at that alone.
  24. I've played MS FlightSim. I could land a big ol' Airbus, easy. Oddly, despite the fact I work in aviation (of sorts), all this stuff about planes crashing and getting lost and all that doesn't bother me one jot. Couldn't tell you why.
