  1. You shouldn’t have to modify the performance version of a sports car at all. Standard one yeah, fill your boots, but the top one? Nope.
  2. Can’t hurt, but usually when they’re gone they’re gone sadly.

0.5 what? Inches, mm, cm etc. Pop outside, take yours off and measure it to be sure.

    A link might help here…
  6. I don’t see it that way: more like there were faults with those early cars but they didn’t have the tech to catch it, now they do and rightfully they are withholding production to get it fixed before sending cars to buyers. It’s one thing to have paint that looks great to people who aren’t really looking for things like that, it’s another to have paint that falls apart apart after two years to consumers.

There’s no wires in any aerial of that kind of construction, plastic or aluminium. So yes, it’ll be fine
  8. That sounds more like something from a US plant: tech spots faults down to a minute detail, but there’s so many faults that everything stops! 😂😂
  9. For a car where they’ve clearly focused on driver involvement over outright performance (look at the changes to the suspension and brakes alone compared with a dodgy dyno run of power increase), it seems odd to not focus on driver involvement. However, you are right when you say simply buy another car. Cos that’s exactly what people are doing.
  10. I do. I feel absolutely imprudent with my choice of words.
  11. So why not offer both, like the GR86 and GT3? Give the choice, see who actually buys one rather than who answers a twitter survey. Hell, charge more and make it a cost option! But no, that would be too easy.
  12. I’ll say it here once, even though it’s obvious really: if you buy a Zed for the dragstrip, you’re an idiot. Even more so in ‘Merica, where there’s a billion better options. But yes you’re right, this is down to money. Which is what the 400 always has been, a finance exercise rather than an engineering one. It’s always felt like a parts bin special rather than anything interesting or new. Just remember the excitement of 2002 when we all saw the 350 for the first time, it was genuinely something incredible. I could forgive the 370 being mostly the same car given the success of the 350, but to do the same again but seemingly with significantly less thought it unforgivable.
  13. No argument from me that that’s better looking than the standard car, but 20hp and auto only? It’s like Nissan don’t actually want to sell any at all.
  14. Literally the top line says this only applies to electric vehicles.
  15. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/introduction-of-vehicle-excise-duty-for-zero-emission-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-from-2025/introduction-of-vehicle-excise-duty-for-zero-emission-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-from-2025 No, the changes only apply to zero emission cars. Whilst the VED for ICE cars may still change at that point. It’s not covered by these new regulations.
  16. I went back in 2009 and thought it was okay, but nothing special. Best memory was watching Hamilton go up the hill, but that was a blink and you’ll miss it kinda thing. I would imagine you had more access than regular folk? Or did you just go in on a regular ticket?
  17. 1. Too expensive, for sustenance when there as well as entry price. 2. If you haven’t booked a hotel for next year already, you ain’t gonna get one. 3. Very little to actually see there (from friends who have been for the last few years including this year). Lots of electric stuff (yawn), and precious little from manufacturers that you could get anywhere near either. 4. Waaaaaayyyyyyy too many people there. Seriously, it’s heaving. Smaller events are far more interesting to me these days.
  18. Everything is better topless!
  19. Unless you buy an auto. In which case you’re wrong.

How often do you check pressures? And how often do you change? If you use your car a lot and change pressures constantly then sure, but some, but if it’s very little as you suggest I’d rather spend the money on fuel. Where are you planning on monitoring them?
  21. Is that not what Nismos of late have been anyway? It’s a trim level, not an M/RS/AMG competitor.
  22. Trolololololol Blame everyone buying the auto for that!
  23. Oh I dunno Alex, if he sorts out your flights, hotel, food, drink and time, could make a lovely little earner/holiday…!
  24. I used to be a fat git remember
  25. This thread made me dig up some old photos from my first time there, didn’t get many but these two demonstrate it nicely: That was the view from the hotel on the morning of the trackday itself, so definitely a snow day! …and by the track itself, I’m on the left but handily you can see the snow still falling against the black of my friend’s suit this was taken whilst we waiting for the temps to come above freezing so they’d actually open the track! Happy times. #hijackover #sorrystu
