  1. Must've changed it for the '07s then, as my brother's car has sat nav but no lid at all. Thinking about it, even if that part from JDM doesn't let me rob the lid from it, I wonder if it's possible to change the whole thing? Go from flip to retractable?
  2. Good find, think I'll shoot them a message now to find out.
  3. I'll try and get a shot of the slot I cut sometime this week, weather permitting. As for the c/f idea, again it's something which sits over the entire console rather than replacing it. Well, all the ones I've seen do anyway.
  4. Not a bad idea, might try that now. Cheers! The trouble is I've scratched both the main part AND the lever bit as well, and the sticky bits only cover the main face of the flap. Having just spent a weekend taking it to bits and dremmeling it to make the TomTom XL fit in it perfectly, I'm loathe to change plans at this point again. Besides, how do you think I scratched it in the first place?!
  5. Nope, both completely different. Imagine the difference between a mobile signal and a home telephone line. The home line will be better quality and guaranteed to work but you need to be right by it to use it. The mobile should cover more area but quality is variable, and in some places it won't work at all. They're different technologies and don't interchange with each other.
  6. 3G is broadband speeds over the airwaves (like a normal phone signal), and wireless is Wi-Fi that connects via a router to the interweb. Wi-Fi will usually be quicker, but you need to be near a Hotspot to use it. In theory 3G is available in a far wider area, but most coverage is patchy at best.
  7. Popped into the dealership today to see how much a new flap actually is. Now I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but I do think that £123 is taking the p*ss somewhat. I think I'll have a go at spraying mine first to see if I can make it look semi-decent. I'm not sure I can ruin it any more, put it that way! Just need to decide on the colour now...
  8. She was one of the more-clothed ladies there this weekend, I can tell you
  9. This is the correct link: http://tinyurl.com/63wuvo
  10. I'm going tomorrow and leaving mine in the public car park, nowt wrong with that I reckon.
  11. Why is your car dancing, that's what I want to know? What is 'turbo shuffle' anyway? Never heard of it, and Google wasn't particularly helpful.
  12. ****, thought that might be the case. Cheers for that matey, is much appreciated.
  13. Am I right in saying that the cubby hole flab in the centre console was changed for the revup cars and onwards? On earlier cars I think it slots back into the console when open, but on the later cars it stays sticking out, yes? I only ask as I've scratched mine to buggery and need a new one, and don't want to order the wrong part if I can help it. Thanks!

    Michelin PS2's

Certainly does, explains why I'm having such difficulty locating PS2s!

    Michelin PS2's

I've seen Pilot Sports advertised on most places when I've been searching for PS2s in the last week, so are they one and the same? It's been quite hard to track the PS2s down really, as most places only seem to stock the Pilot Sport.
  16. Where did £1500 come from? From the Jenvey website, albeit that does say not for the 350Z but just for the VQ, and on a second look it's minus VAT.
  17. £1500 for that kit? That's not too bad really. Factor in another £1K for engine management and mapping and you've have something truly magnificent. I have to save for that. NOW.
  18. Only with the power lead attached, yes. There's tons of width either side, easy a good 15mm I reckon. Without the power connected and with the rubber mat in, it's a lovely fit height-wise. Just a shame the XL's have such a p*ss-poor battery life compared with my old 520 I used to be able to run that, with a full charge, from Braintree to Colchester to Welwyn to Nottingham to Welwyn and back to Braintree again. Awesome little thing.
  19. They do fit, but not easily. Without the power lead it's fine, but with it in, and because it's located at the bottom of the unit, you need to remove the rubber mat and kind of wedge the whole thing in at a jaunty angle so it stays put, and so you can actually see it. It'll bend the crap out of the power connector itself, but the socket remains safe so that's the main thing. Over the winter I'll be taking my centre console apart and routing the cable through that, which should eliminate any issues.

    Fuel saver

Snake oil. The restriction in the intake will cause you to lose power so you'll need less fuel, so technically it will work but then wedging half a brick under your accelerator will do the same thing.
  21. Allegedly drugs cheats (or the people that make the drugs, anyway) are 15 years ahead of the testers right now. Everyone could be high on something, but we won't know until 2023 That said, that man Bolt is absolutely incredible. True charisma from a track athelete is rare nowadays, but he's got it in bucketloads along with a healthy amount of talent in those legs. That was truly something else watching him win the 200m earlier.
