  1. See, I really like the Panamera and think it looks a lot better than it has any right to. I wouldn't buy one myself even if funds allowed, but I don't think it's as hideous as some of the guess-art looked. I have to disagree with you there. Almost every car manufacturer in the world has gone through some pretty severe brand changes in the last decade or so, and they've had to as the competition has changed. Ford now produce very good cars as they've got to compete with BMW, and Vauxhall are just about turning the same way. Toyota = boring and safe, and so on and so forth. Porsche needed to add the Cayenne just to make enough money to survive, as 911 and Boxster sales weren't doing it for them. It all very well and good to be able to say "Oh, we're a sports car company and that's all we'll ever do" but if it's not paying the bills... No-one mocked Aston when the Rapide was shown. Same principle in essence. Okay, so the Rapide is somewhat better looking than the Panamera, but the needs are the same.
  2. I hate that the two buttons are so close together, the amount of times I've gotten soaked when trying to turn the TC off as I pull away with the roof down is ridiculous!
  3. For that sort of money for that sort of car I'd be getting something with a Maserati badge on, not a BMW one.
  4. You don't have to literally use your heel and toe: I use either side of my foot and just roll across as my limbs don't bend like that either.
  5. We had loads here But now it's all gone
  6. Well spotted! Guess they haven't made any with a Nissan badge on yet then.
  7. It's 10K lighter than the 350Z.
  8. I actually don't like the way the detail on the spokes isn't central on them IYSWIM. That would irritate the hell out of me.
  9. With the bungs in you'll be fine on the static, but I would bet you'll trip the drive-bys easily. Don't forget that you get no second chances there any more, one tripped meter and they send you home. I'm banned by the missus from driving into multi-storey car parks with the bungs out any more as I set all the alarms off and she gets a bit embarrassed and somewhat angry at me...
  10. Fixed. I like the full-size glove box that's only half-size when opened. Brilliant. And the less said about the pedals now the better. And yet, worryingly, it is better up close than I thought it would be. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's better than the Cayman interior as I really don't think it will be going on the photos, but it's certainly a step in the right direction it seems.
  11. What's EVO got to do with anything? I'm perfectly capable of deciding that I prefer RWD to FWD on my own, thanks. Like I said, I really like the 182 but would never own one. That good enough a FWD car for you?
  12. Bingo. The new RS is going to be nothing more than another FWD scrabble wagon, regardless of how good the chassis is or what the super-trick LSD is doing.
  13. I love the Clio 182 as a car to borrow every now and then (brother had one), but you never get the control or feel that you do from an RWD setup. Never. Feel is everything, and when you've got two wheels doing both steering and power it's never going to be as pure. Granted a good FWD car can be better than an average RWD one, but I know which I'd prefer to own.
  14. Tell me about it And we still had to modify the TTE kit due to the location of the coolant return pipe from the turbo as they'd put it in a really daft place, so even millions of pounds of R&D budget doesn't guarantee you'll get a 100% quality product in the end. Given that I reckon you could do an LS3 swap for a solid 430bhp N/A and with that soundtrack for about £12K, that's certainly where my money will be heading in the future as you'd far more reliability over any FI option. Granted you'll have different teething issues, but still.
  15. If only it was 4WD (or better RWD), I'd have been sorely tempted to wait for that instead of getting the Zed this year. I'd never consider buying an FWD performance car, regardless of how well they do actually handle.
  16. I don't see the issue myself. I've turbocharged cars before and had to use an aftermarket piggyback (e-Manage Blue) and everything was rosy. It's all down to whoever is doing the map, and if they're a competent mapper then there really shouldn't be any issue at all: It'd certainly be no worse than remapping a JDM ECU, albeit that there is one more link in the chain that could go wrong. With a wideband sensor and AFR gauge (+ EGT if you really want safety) then it's perfectly possible to tune the car yourself if you're prepared to take your time and not rush things.
  17. Where's Steven Seagal when you need him? He'd sort this piracy malarky out.

    The limiter

I did the HKS one as well as I knew what I was looking for, and I'm sure that thread was in there as well... Ah well, never mind! Good on you for trying though, it's the effort that counts
  19. OH NO HE DIDN'T JUST SAY THAT  Nice one Sarnie.

    The limiter

41 results from the search for 'delimiter', and one of them is this one. HTH
  21. Any idea what issue that was in? Be good to have a read up on all that again.
  22. Anyone got a spellcheck I can borrow to decipher her last post? [/grammar_nazi]
  23. Me neither, but then I've not actually heard of them at all so that could account for that
  24. Must admit I garaged mine after the first cold snap, did mean I had to spend a day cleaning the garage out but it was definitely worth it. Never had the ice thing on my mk3 MR2 though... So yeah, back on topic, I'd still keep the VX and the Polo rather than swap both for a Zed. Well, I might chop the Polo in for something a little more fun, but that'd be it.
  25. Sounds like you've nver been in a Lotus or VX. Cold never, in fact air conditioning in summer is almost a must. Exiges with no air con can't be shifted by the dealers. It's a small car, mid engine which means plenty of heat in the cab. As for quick, you are missing the point. The Lotus chassis is not about how quick in a straight line, it's more about driver feedback, handling and enjoyment. That's why I say it would be missed if sold. I owned a VXR220 (number 20 of 65) for almost 2 years, which was even more basic than your Exige Not an issue in the Exige, but in the Elise variants it's bloody cold with the roof off and the heater is more of a blower, but I'm sure you'd know that as well as anybody. I'm also going to assume your car must be garaged so you've never experienced the unbridled joy of ice forming INSIDE the windscreen when it's freezing outside, and it then takes aaaaaages to warm up. To say that a 116 N/A isn't as quick as a 350 is missing the point, and I did already mention that the Zed isn't as far behind the Elise chassis as you would imagine once you get used to the differing layout. Is it as pure? No, of course not, but it's warmer and comfier and far more fun that I expected.
