  1. Tbh the louder the better really. One of my previous cars was a turbo'd MR2 Roadster with a 3" exhaust and a tiny silencer and I thought that was lovely, and my last car (VXR220) had a Milltek on which was nice when you booted it, but far too quiet otherwise. Had to be like that though else I'd never have passed track noise regs. I thought this time I'd make the most of having a car where you can actually easily get the exhaust off/on and put something silly loud on for the weekends and then put the stock box back on for track. Job's a carrot
  2. Ordered my one today as well I get the feeling as though it'll be stupid loud too, seeing as how Phil must've spent a good 10 mins warning me just how loud it actually is! Thing is, if it's quite loud on the coupés, then how loud is it actually going to be on my roadster with the roof down?! Can't wait
  3. This scheme will never happen, as has been said the cost is simply too high. Besides, they'll put them all in on the motorways anyway which are deathly boring at the best of times, so I'll happily stick to tearing up the countryside and the twisties if that's okay with you.

Or you could just accept that you have a totally different car and not try and get in a pissing contest. If you really want an M3 that badly then flog the Zed and buy one. Either way, an M3 with 340bhp is still going to be quicker than a Zed with 310bhp. Don't worry about it, and simply enjoy the fact that you own a car that you like, and be damned what anyone else thinks.
  5. Love to see it with the bungs, and a standard track noise test (0.5m and 45degs from exhaust at 3/4 rpm) both with and without the bungs would be great. If the bungs can make it track-friendly then I'll most definitely be ordering one
  6. Guys, you do realise that this is all a wind up? Clicky And again *EDIT* It even says so on the petition as well.

Not anymore: Is up to a far more sensible 9K IIRC. I like the idea of owning a Jap turbo nutter barge of some description one day, but it'll be when I simply have to have 4 doors and 4 seats. Until then, I'm sticking firmly with 2. It'll be interesting to see how well the paddle shift holds up over a few years, and whether it starts to eat clutches or has a few electronic foibles that could prove expensive to fix.
  8. and just for your info, if it does get damaged, when you ring up tell them the damage has only just happened. any delay at all and they won't repair it. was told that by a repairman who sorted mine out Now that's handy to know, thanks!
  9. I went into DFS last weekend looking for a simple black leather three-seat sofa, and they had absolutely bugger all (both in terms of anything nice or anything not silly money). Popped into ScS and picked up a gorgeous one with two power recliners either end for £1650, and that with their 'pop a hole in the leather and we'll replace the whole sofa' guarantee thing. Hopefully it should come in about 8-10 weeks. Can't wait!
  10. Very true, I got caught doing 106mph on a 70mph dual-carriageway and only got 3pts and £60. That was getting stopped by proper police officers at the time though and not via a letter through the door a few days later. Had that been the case I've no doubt I'd have been hauled up before the courts.
  11. That much over is a close call between 3pts + £60 and a court appearance. I'm going to go sadly for the latter. Best dust that nice suit off
  12. So which is it? Either you completely remove the stock ECU (a la PowerFC et al) or you piggyback with the existing (e-Manage).
  13. Do Nissan sell a special set just for the Zed, or is it a case of getting something generic and hoping for the best?
  14. Daihatsu Copen. Cute little things, and with bags of character. Great photo too
  15. I wedge my old-stylee TT500 in the cubby hole above the stereo. Job's a carrot.
  16. Go to a regular motorbike shop and try a few on and see what kind of shape is comfortable on your head. No need to spend a fortune unless you really want to. I got mine from Demon Tweeks as they had a lot of them in there to try on when I was up that way for a TD at Anglesey.
  17. That answers that one then, ta! Doesn't look as nice as I'd hoped it would sadly, so I think I may well end up leaving mine with the fat arse it came from the factory with.
  18. Does the OEM spoiler fit the Roadster with no issues then?
  19. That's proper loud, that is. I think it's probably a bit too loud for me personally, but I really appreciate you digging that video out for me., if nothing else it's saved me the cash that a set of decat pipes cost!
  20. Nice, but any chance of editing the title so it doesn't spoil the review? I don't know about others, but I like to wait until I actually get the mag to find out what score cars get...
  21. Fair enough, I was more worried about losing the NCB than anything else as that's worth it's weight in gold nowadays.
  22. Silly point maybe, but wouldn't it have been cheaper to source a bonnet from somewhere (scrappies?) and get both that and your bumper resprayed, rather than pay the excess and lose your NCB (unless it's guaranteed)?
  23. Top man, I'll give you a shout if I get stuck
  24. Jailed for four years because the dozy cyclist decided they should jump a red light? Bloody madness IMHO. Yes, there's no way that she should have been doing 45mph in a 30, and that's inexcusable. I'm going to go out on a limb here on the limited info I've got and say that in this case the speed was the primary contributing factor (along with the daft cyclist) and not the use of the phone. It's not big and it's not clever, but now the media are highlighting this case as a phone one, and not a speeding car/stupid cyclist one. Put it in context: How many drivers have we seen recently jailed for killing someone else who was driving legally/walking on the pavement, when they were drunk? There's been a few, and they've all got less than 4 years (some had no jail at all). If I'm honest, the judge should've (may have?) used this to highlight road safety for cyclists as well. Probably not a popular viewpoint my one, but that's how I see it. No doubt the driver was in the wrong, but not 4 years in the wrong.
