  1. Go to a regular motorbike shop and try a few on and see what kind of shape is comfortable on your head. No need to spend a fortune unless you really want to. I got mine from Demon Tweeks as they had a lot of them in there to try on when I was up that way for a TD at Anglesey.
  2. That answers that one then, ta! Doesn't look as nice as I'd hoped it would sadly, so I think I may well end up leaving mine with the fat arse it came from the factory with.
  3. Does the OEM spoiler fit the Roadster with no issues then?
  4. That's proper loud, that is. I think it's probably a bit too loud for me personally, but I really appreciate you digging that video out for me., if nothing else it's saved me the cash that a set of decat pipes cost!
  5. Nice, but any chance of editing the title so it doesn't spoil the review? I don't know about others, but I like to wait until I actually get the mag to find out what score cars get...
  6. Fair enough, I was more worried about losing the NCB than anything else as that's worth it's weight in gold nowadays.
  7. Silly point maybe, but wouldn't it have been cheaper to source a bonnet from somewhere (scrappies?) and get both that and your bumper resprayed, rather than pay the excess and lose your NCB (unless it's guaranteed)?
  8. Top man, I'll give you a shout if I get stuck
  9. Jailed for four years because the dozy cyclist decided they should jump a red light? Bloody madness IMHO. Yes, there's no way that she should have been doing 45mph in a 30, and that's inexcusable. I'm going to go out on a limb here on the limited info I've got and say that in this case the speed was the primary contributing factor (along with the daft cyclist) and not the use of the phone. It's not big and it's not clever, but now the media are highlighting this case as a phone one, and not a speeding car/stupid cyclist one. Put it in context: How many drivers have we seen recently jailed for killing someone else who was driving legally/walking on the pavement, when they were drunk? There's been a few, and they've all got less than 4 years (some had no jail at all). If I'm honest, the judge should've (may have?) used this to highlight road safety for cyclists as well. Probably not a popular viewpoint my one, but that's how I see it. No doubt the driver was in the wrong, but not 4 years in the wrong.
  10. Not true according to this PH link
  11. Bear in mind this does NOT work with the UK-spec Bose unit. I should know, I bought one to try it on the off chance it would work
  12. Can you not (using FF + AdBlock Plus) right-click and block it? *EDIT* Just tried myself, and yes you can!
  13. Ah, so you can put stuff safely in that space! That answers another question I had floating around, seeing as there's tons of room there for coats and clothes and stuff. Genius.
  14. I bloody hope it all fits in, I'm off to LeMans in mine this year! If I can get a weekend's worth of camping gear in an MR2 mk3 which has about as much storage space as a small bumbag, then I reckon you can easily get everything into a Z. At least, I don't see any issues at all.
  15. That's a great help, that sounds lovely without being too noisy Dan
  16. So clearing the codes via an OBDII reader got rid of them permanently, yup? I see you went for HFCs in the end, was this to get the power back in the mid-range, the sound or simply because you didn't want to faff around at MOT time? Sorry to be a PITA with all the newbie questions BTW, I really appreciate your help. Dan
  17. Actually, just another quick question: Does the Z not throw a CEL when you decat? If it does, how do you get round this? Dan
  18. Blimey, that's some loss! Thanks for that Ian, that's exactly the info I was after. If you can find that video that's be great! Dan
  19. Just to bump an old topic... Anyone ever decat with the stock exhaust? I know it's more common to change the backbox first, but I was just wondering if anyone had left the stock box in place with a decat, and what the volume was like on it? Any noticeable power loss due to the lack of back-pressure? Dan
  20. Anyone here know of any particularly loud exhausts for the Z that will have TDOs reaching for their black flags when on track? Anyone ever had any issues at any tracks (specifically Bedford really, as they've clamped down immensely in the last few months) with any aftermarket exhaust? Whilst I'm after a new exhaust for the car, I don't want anything too brash that's going to start tripping noise meters on drive-bys as some Jap exhausts can do. Trackdays are too much fun to start limiting myself to only a few tracks round the UK. Thanks, Dan

    ECU Pinouts

Just in case anyone else wants to know, the link has now changed to http://www.cj-motorsports.com/03pinout.htm Dan
  22. Basically what they're saying is that if you fit this to your car and something happens to the engine because of it, then Nissan won't honour the warranty. IRL that's never going to happen as they've got to prove it was the direct cause of any engine damage, which (barring hydrolocking) is never going to happen. S-tune means that Nissan will honour any warranty if it's on there, R-tune means they won't (or will try and wriggle out of it). Obviously if anything did go wrong you'd put the stock airbox back on before taking it to the stealers. Looks very nice, but I can't imagine it's any better/worse than all the other kits out there.
  23. That wax is just a free sample of the stuff, as I've got the same kit as you. Wash the car, clay the car, wash the car, polish the car, wax the car. Job's a carrot.
  24. On the off chance anyway... Hi! :bye:
  25. Ummm... Orange?! I'll be honest and say I don't know which is which, but it was the darker of the two.
