Off to the 370Z roadster launch at local dealer!!
stanski replied to shire350Z's topic in 370z General
Colin I still dont like fangs on the front but I am warming to the roadster I admit - I mean if we all do a black vinyl job to cover his teeth like yourself then things improve by leaps and bounds! Pie in the sky for me though ,just a car to keep an eye on in the future (probably 15 years from now) when I can buy them for toffees! Of course everyone will have hoverboards, 3D tellies with smellyvision Hope to pop into a stealers and have a peep for ourselves this weekend - wearing the club fleece of course but then the G37 is my only real alternative going forward. -

Quote - Stan likes the look of it! There I have said it! Not my colour choice but nice all the same, I know why people hate the bee-sting at the back but its not a show stopper for me - you can always fit a Stubbie from an S2000 The only thing that does spoil it a bit it the rear window - looks like they took it off some other car and put it in upside down! I prefered my hotrod postbox design stylie one! They have a more rakish roof angle at the back which is pretty good, nice to see the bumper paint still does'nt match! Some how those wheels looks a bit small from the back probably because of the large arse it still has, but the single thing that does spoil it are the headrests - bit square and too far out of the top - looks like your sat on it not in it - very Z3 Z4 (both cars I dislike intensly!) Where do I sign up -

Looking forward to the pics and review -
to the forum Rob good look with the zed hunt don't rush there are plenty for sale. Built in sat nav is normally pants on cars I think just buy a TomTom instead
-
If it feels right to you buy it matey if your not happy about something walk away is always my advice forget about stupid exhausts they are easy to swop check the engine gearbox suspension and body are all fine and it feels tight when you fling it round bends as with any car also remember just because your going 700 miles doesn't mean you must buy it - we drove to the other end of the country to look at a car once turned out to be a shoddy lemon - yes bit of a wasted day an petrol but cheaper than buying a shed on wheels. We will await your verdict either way good luck with it and remember there are loads for sale for reasonable money these days and we are here to help you either way

They are notorius for slack handbrakes - the entire range of Nissans not just 350's but just tighten the cable up once in a while and it will be fine and like Mr Biscuit has said never trust a handbrake always put it in gear
-
No regrets other than having to sell mine but then I have no regrets on the trade-in or the trade off !!! ( other than missing out on club runs with you lot )

Pics look fine to me Bronzee

Re your questions they all have the xenon lights but JDMS don't have the washer jets. The Bose stereo is fine but others say it's a pile of poo but mine was a roadster so I never got the full on stereo quality anyway not that I was that bothered the v6 sounds better I don't know why the standard stereo sounds like but it's even if it's pants it's still easy to upgrade lot of folks on here have done that. Just go and see if and look for any suspension knocking noises from the front or clicking axles at the back etc
-
Could be standard hard to tell from that photo - also it is a basic model not ST or anything fancy so just because he has the seats in leather does'nt make it an ST or GT Zed
-
ive never noticed a suspension difference, hmm worth checking next time im near one. Ask Alex he will tell you - its common to change the shocks for stiffer ones but to be fair I would'nt bother I find the ride more engaging actually! No good for Video filming on a Wales Zed run though
-
Has this just happend with the change in the weather? i,e since the snow came back and it went frosty?
-
It looks ok - they are Rays its just they are the early home market ones thats all. - You can get a set of the later Rays from the club - there is always someone selling those - in fact someone did with Wheels for £500 a few months ago dont know if they went or not? Just read up on the FAQs section on the forum and the section on JDM imports - arm yourslef with info and see what its like on the test drive? Remember the JDM's have different suspension set up I think they are a bit more bouncy than UK ones but money wise they are better value anyway Also re: headlights you need to know which type he has got as replacement?

HELP SAVE THE WORLD !!!! KILL ALL THE COWS !!!!
stanski replied to Zedrush's topic in Off Topic Discussion
+1 go for it time to save the planet! Failing that maybe we could stick plastic tubes up their arses (cows here not ex's) and collect the gas - therefore use to power erm power stations and give us more electricity to run useless gadgets we dont need! -
You are correct but if they spent the money on tarty interiors your into porker money and well that's the star in the Zed cap you get so much more value for money.

The build quality on 350Z's is rock solid but I do get on my high horse about Jap interiors getting slated all the time. (sorry rant on its way!) People are still remembering them from the 80's and 90's when they were dull and made from rock hard plastic. Yes they scratch easily but in my car experience so do Audi's and everybody elses. My 2007 350 revision (like the MY06) was great inside but yes the door handles and surround scrached but so did my Audi A4 years earlier? Jap interiors are generally made to be long lasting and easy to clean, of course that means not as many fluffy fabics and soft touch materials like other cars but on the whole they have come along in leaps and bounds. Prior to selling the zeds we looked at a number of cars and well for brand new cars I think Seat should hang their head in shame - appalling fit , finish, quality and materials - the last time I saw plastics like that were made by Lego in 1979! The alfa range - in particular the Brera - the dash looks like its made from baking foil! The Mito inside was also a big let down - too fussy and laclustre colours. Merc E and A classes are the most boring and bland interiors I have ever seen - my 300C gets slated for the same reason - oh its typical cheap American interiors - nope its not and its pretty well screwed together too. Please show me an interesting BMW interior ? I have not seen one yet? Biggest surprise I found was the Toyota Avensis interior on the estate - wow fantastic colours materials and finish - puts a lot more so called up market cars to shame One last thing most interiors are actually manufactured by a handful of companies - Lear Corporation tend to have the market covered they just make the entire door trims dashboards etc already premoulded and assembled so its just a cost and design choice by the manufacturer in the end? Rant over ....sorry

Nice pics Bronzee there is some very nice tin there biased but my faves the 240z and 66 fairlady roadster .... Oh that rusty one at the top is ok as well

stanski replied to quicksilver's topic in 350Z Technical
Nice one mate winter/ spring my fave time for top down motoring. .... Shame I can't now though -
go to a good local car parts shop - they should be able to mix up a good match for you and stick it in a tin or for spray.

I dont think the car will be devalued if you leave the engine bay the colour it is - but make sure you dont go for a bright colour like Canary yellow or pink! Then it might look stupid! Why not go for one of the GTR colours like that brown tinged GM type colour - that looks great Baby blue? Hmmm not sure that would look good on a Zed but hey each to their own - I would maybe go for a deeper blue - metalic of some kind? -
Stan, what's a recall letter? Hiya - sorry had to dash off - answered already but last year the 07 roadsters seem to have a recall on the slave clutch cylinder - means a gearbox out job - also the alarm fettled at the same time. Afterwards my thrust release bearing seemed to be a lot quieter- ie, they probably put some grease on it! Check with Nissan UK or the stealer there should be a record for your car - maybe its not needed for your chasis number though so who knows?
-
Yes the ragtop is the same as the tintop
-
Taras did you have the recall letter for yours ? Mine was an 07 roadster and the recall was for the clutch slave cylinder and other stuff but on the face of it sounds normal to me anyway. The thrust release bearings do tend to grumble
-
It isn't. It was from Cars To Go of Charminster. I know the name suggests a cut n shut garage! In that case get them to find you a manual from a Nissan dealer for you. Re keys you can get that done by car locksmiths probably £100 - timpsons do it.

+1 too right matey get back to the dealer
