  1. Blimey this thread got a bit heated. Bottom line we have just offered our opinions to give you food for thought. I dont think anybody is deliberately trying to scam anyone, but the industry seems set very much against the normal person trying to get a home to live in bring up a family, children, pets, 350 zeds whatever. Either way take legal advice from someone you trust. Moving house is particularly stressful at the best of times, but as mentioned you situation is better than most you have continued employment. Did your partner receive any redundancy payments? Can you use that to fill the gap worse case? Either way dont think of every possible worse case scenario. Good luck and let us know how things turned out.
  2. I was in a similar pickle myself a few years ago. My house up for sale, had viewings people interested and stuff going through, then they made the whole team at work redundant. I had been waiting 6 months for my new RX8 (This was 2004!) To be delivered, was due to arrive in 2 weeks ! What to do , cancel car obviously, tell estate agents etc. Well no I got out there started looking for a contract job, first ever (I work in IT) , got a job somehow, in 3 weeks thankfully, of course its contract so cant get a mortgage unless you have worked for 4 years with all payslips, or its Luigi's loansharks! Anyway long story short, I got my new RX8, did contracting for 3 months, house sold, I changed jobs for permie job and got the mortgage, and moved into new house. To say that was stressful was an understatement!! The good thing your partner has a job lined up already, so continuity of bill paying etc. Yes that month gap will be painful, you might have to use a credit card for that worse case but if it means you get to where you need to be fine. Try not to overthink it, difficult I know but telling them will cause you an admin headache and extra checks and trust me if they can throw more admin at you and delay whilst holding onto your money they will. Good luck
  3. To the forum James. Zeds are pretty well built cars, I am sure you will get it sorted out. Just take your time, live with it a bit, look at the mods section and most importantly get out on a club meet. Best to see what others have done in the flesh then you get a better idea what you like. Stan
  4. Yup be honest I always am , best way. People know what they are getting and no funny business. Have you got it advertised on carandclassic too? Its free and response is pretty swift usually. Nice pictures help ideally on a sunny day? Good luck with it as Ekona says give it time, this was a super hot weekend buying cars not on everyones mind but maybe tomorrow will be?
  5. Haha I was only being silly. However if you go Tokyo you are probably going to find a pink zed? Who knows.
  6. to the club. What age is your zed? There have been identified issues with the softops but mostly 370s. My 350 ragtop was perfect with the roof until the day I traded it in! It knew! From what i remember its things like cables, switches that stretch and things start to go a bit off. Mine had similar issues to yours but was infrequent. I opened it closed it again and it worked. Where are you located? A good auto trimming place will be able to help you. Avoid Nissan they dont have a clue? If you do a search on the forum there are posts about it. Stan
  7. Dont worry about hijacking threads etc the point is there are lots of good reasonably priced products out there which are easy to apply, in very tiny amounts so last ages and are almost as good as your fancy top end natural waxes. Sadly I dont have time for foam lances and 2 bucket cleaning etc , seal it well whatever you use, then a quick wash and wax to keep the dust off as required job done.
  8. Yes sealant. The auto balm is mostly for older cars does a good job of sealing and covering scratch etc. But its a pig to buff off if you didnt wipe it straight off. But I use it on everything. I polished the plastic headlights to remove that yellow haze, then put auto balm on and they looked like brand nee diamond bright! But that double speed is my new fave. Lets see how it goes but my days of £50+ for Polished Bliss midnight sun etc are over. Still a fab wax though and made the Night Blue shine.
  9. I decided to hose it down , just water see how it is and yup still beading and slippier than a politician!
  10. Sorry no beading pics but took this after I finished. The black wheels come up particularly well. I wanted to protect it from the start also I dont get the time to detail my cars much these days, so its protection rather than show look. Still beading like the day I applied it. 4 weeks people. One thing avoid use on black patterned plastic it leaves the white marks you get from usual cheapo waxs. For that use the Auto-balm which goes on anything and is clear. If you have an older zed in a metallic colour I recon the paint is probably a bit scratchy by now, thats where the Auto balm works a treat. I put some on our 12 year old Rav 4 and wow it came up showroom stylie.
  11. I have mentioned this product before however after 4 weeks of not having to wash the car, (very weird experience) thought I would do a post. https://www.bilthamber.com/double-speed-wax I have used this Auto Balm before on my classics to bring the paint back to life and hide swirls, scratches. https://www.bilthamber.com/waxes-polishes-and-clay-bars/auto-balm Its not the easiest to apply, basically wax on wax off straight away lasts for ages. Very impressive and cheap. Wanting to protect the Stang I coincidentally saw this new speed wax they did. I am guessing its the same as the autobalm but they added the carnauba wax to make it easier to apply. Well its bleeding fantastic. I cleaned the car in warm shampoo solution, dried off then applied this with pad, left it to go off as normal waxes then wipe off with cloth. Very quick very easy. Its supposed to be contaminant resistant for 6 months. Lets see how that goes but for now, after 4 weeks I keep looking at it thinking oh I need to wash it but no, its fine! Had a 700 mile round trip over weekend, fly collection on the front bumper. There was a rain shower overnight when we got home I checked in the morning no flies everything just washed off! Honestly for £15 its bargain of the century and you get a pad and cloth too. Ebay is your friend. Give it a try stop paying through the nose for fancy special wax from some remote island made from fairy poops. Stan
  12. Did they paint them in Pink ?
  13. Mine was the HR engine 2007, but its the same engine and still the same engine in the 370z. They are well engineered made from good materials not like some manufacturers. My other half had a Fairlady import 2003 with same engine as yours and that was on 95 Ron only too. Just keep them serviced properly use good oil and they will run and run. If you have a GTr thats another game, they are super high pressure, high precision engines and designed to run on rocket fuel. Zeds are not in the same category. People like Zedmanalex race them, rebuilt them know them inside out can probably answer better than me but in 3 years of ownership and 45000 miles I had zero issues running on 95 ron.
  14. Same here ran my 350 on 95 only. I was doing 700 miles per week commute mostly motorway , no issues. They are solid cars trust them.
  15. I keep missing bits but what I have seen it looks good. They need to change the format more that was the mistake previously just copying what had gone before? So far so good.
  16. Thanks mate will do. A830 think I have done some of it not sure I went as far to the coast. More to add on my list.
  17. Thanks its all great information. I will plan it (naturally with lots of petrol stations for the Stang) but its going to be the van best all rounder.
  18. Haha if we go camping its the McVolkswagen Van but then as a pre-test the wee-Stang might go first. One of my fave roads is from Dalwhinnie A889 - A86 - A87 to Skye. Used to do that in the Zed and my MX5 (roof down naturally). Stangs turn when I can. Will deffo give you notice.
  19. We have been going to Scotland for years but never gone to any of the Islands. My other half is suggesting we go camping or at least do a bit of a tour of an island or 2, obviously not all of them we only have a week? I heard they have superb beaches and scenery. Can you recommend any as a starter please? Ignore Skye though know it well. Thanks Stan

Exactly sorry forgot to state that or you end up in a ditch!

Originally Zeds came with Bridgestones and made it 'interesting' in the wet, I didnt like them so when it was time to change I went for Falcons transformed the car so much better, safer! My current car (Mustang) come with Pirelli pzeros, they are okish but everyone says ditch them soon as and get Michellin pilot sports. Costco sell them if you are a member. Failing that go on Blackcirles.com and get them delivered and fitted cheaper locally. Usually good price. Hope this helps?
  22. Naa you are wasting your time with all of these. Mk1 Mazda mx5 pop up headlights runs on rails cheap to run whats not to like.
  23. Exactly a lot of bad stuff has gone thankfully, well mostly, instead we have trial by social media, and Ronald MacDonald running a large country across the pond and another clown wanting to be PM in this country!
