  1. Thanks for the info, I have to agree I am not too keen on the facelift one, its kind of going back a bit to the uglier 80/90s ones in a strange way? It was maybe a 2017 I was thinking about. Yes I did my research on the Masser and yes stuff costs a fortune, even things like spark plugs etc a lot of which is Maserati only not even indie ? I do think they are fab but long term (as I am not getting any younger) I have to be kind of sensible well.... Maybe? Hmm I need to drive one really I suppose and compare against the Zed? But can I live with a bright blue ship on the drive?
  2. Thank you nice to be back. Can I come on the club road runs in the Rover in the meantime
  3. I know I know ! I have bored everyone about it for 12 months , did my research etc even sat in a new one the other week, they do look fantastic but Italian exotica with higher miles and almost 10 years old is all I can afford but its very overfacing sometimes? I would be a nervous wreck leaving it anywhere. Only downside is that cheapo old looking satnav/radio etc but then the same age Bentley Continental is just as bad, if more unreliable! I know I will probably end up with the zed but its a 2 horse (pony maybe) race. Anyone want a Rover P5?
  4. Hi mate good to hear from you and thanks for the info. I have to admit the Mustang has been favourite recently. Coincidentally there is a ford store near my work and I popped in today to sit in a new one. Its a bit in your face when you first go up to it but I think it looks the dogs and I do like the inside. Guess what a blue one like yours drove past my house as I was reversing out this morning! Its a sign!!!! Is it 24k service intervals and dare I ask is it expensive? Surely cant be as bad as a Maserati? This is a one off chance to get something like this as I wont get this opportunity again so it has to be right. I still love the zed and its probably as slightly more sensible alternative but that Mustang has been a fave for years! How do you get on with carparks though? Is it a dog to squeeze in and out of with those long doors?
  5. Thanks mate. I almost went for the v8 but prices are a bit silly and this one popped up on my radar. I recently helped sell a friends P6 V8 that was mint and I mean no rust even though it was that lovely Russet brown colour. I should have bought itmyself haha.
  6. Aye lad! Smooth straight 6 overdrive leather electric everything not bad for 1965. But sadly has to go. I dont work far from home now so its fine. People generally let you pass worried they will be fumigated by the exhaust.
  7. Hi folks After years of messing with cars especially classics I am finally hanging up those classic boots and quite fancy some stupid gas guzzling modern tin. I am down to 3 choices and wondered if anyone had these and can advise. 1. Late model 370z Nismo, so as they are about to ditch it anytime soon to be replaced with some turbo small pot that runs on carrot juice so not to upset the environment, I am considering it. No need to reply on this one I know enough about them. But option 2. Maserati Grandtourismo auto. Ever since I saw one new I thought wow stunning car and sounds awesome. But like a lot of expensive cars they are now around the £20-30k mark, the 30k mark are nicer spec and condition and mileage. Yes they will cost a fortune to run and eat brakes and tyres but for the money surely a bargain? I have an indie place in Manchester that can service them. But they are Italian and although probably better built than most I know they will bleed me dry! Oh and its the size of a bus a lovely looking bus. Anybody had one? 3. Ford Mustang uk spec another one I loved from day one. Yes again it will no doubt eat tyres and drink petrol but I am hoping servicing costs should be cheaper as its Ford? I see Marzman has one in the very colour I love! Damn you Sir ! Hope you are enjoying it still? Yes its big and inside is Lego plastic in places but I dont mind. My common sense says just save my money and wait for the fancy electric stuff once prices fall and battery range is 700 miles on a 2 minute charge, provided by electric fairies that make no carbon emissions but..... I am old school I like my petrol. I am not keen on sensible german stuff that the rest of humanity drive. Any advise greatly received. Thanks Stan
  8. Hiya yes fine thanks a bit older no wiser! Are you still overseas?
  9. Hi mate thanks, good to hear from you. Yes I had a G37S for a while but circumstances forced me to part ex it against a Vw T5 which I have still and lost a tonne of cash trade in as nobody not even Infiniti wanted to know! But anyway I have the van and a 1997 mk1 mx5 which I got cheap from a mate and is great fun, goes where the van doesn't , like multistorey car parks. I also have a 1965 Rover P5 which was my daily until a few week ago, but thats up for sale soon, I dont have time to keep it maintained and topped up with oil my final classic car. Stan
  10. Hi folks I thought I would officially say hello again, although technically I never left and I still hop on here occasionally. I noticed a few old boys and girls are also back . This club will always have a special place for me as the people are superb. Its been about 9 years and that zed bug is calling me back . Hope you are all ok! Stan
  11. Welcome Eddie looks great. I used to have a 350z soft top and loved it to bits. I keep looking at 370z soft tops however finances not in place for such a toy. Got my 22 year old mx5 for now, not quite the same league. Stan
  12. Hey Alex !! Good to hear from you mate. I was thinking along the same lines try and do a 24 hour test drive? The GTR is just looking too expensive (extortionate)! See how it goes
  13. The Hertz site is hilarious I select the Mustang and it says sorry not available but you can hire a VW Caddy or Kia Piccant!!! She wont notice the difference!
  14. Guess what! £255 per day but minimum 3 days over a weekend ..... Wait for it... £1710!!!! Pick up 08:00 drop off 18:00 hr monday! I think the mustang is looking a better option!
  15. Thanks I am Manchester based. Think I saw that one too yes £255 is better than the other? When I went on the Hertz site it didnt seem to offer it for me? Maybe phone browser issue? Will check it from my lappy instead? Thanks and yes £895 per day?!!! Surely a lease plan must be cheaper?
  16. Hi folks I wonder if you can offer some advice? Lucy (my other half and petrol head) organised a cool surprise birthday party for me last week, which was great. I want to thank her with a surprise weekend somewhere but she gets to drive a GTR or Mustang (new one). Yes I know its chalk and cheese between those but its the surprise factor? I did a bit of web surfing and there are a few companies but they seem to be mostly London/south based and well £895 for a GTR for 1 day plus £1000 deposit!! So maybe have to adjust that plan? I would hope you can rent a mustang from ford but their website seems to do it for everything but the Mustang? Any ideas or advice greatly received. Thanks
  17. Thanks guys no idea about length of time and bit worried as they have gone a bit quiet on me anyway???! Phone them Monday see what the score is?
  18. Hi everyone I am hoping to go for a job interview in Glasgow St Vincent St,G2 5NW hopefully in a few days time once I hear from the recruitment agent but wondered if anyone knows that area and if there is suitable parking nearby? Thanks in advance. Stan
  19. Sounds like you are having fun too!! I loved my G37 but it had to go in the end to get the more practical T5! Either way good luck and who knows maybe a zed might sneak back into our lives again at some point? Probably when the petrol has run out and electric hover cars are the norm!
  20. Hey Lexx good to hear from you. We are ok thanks life is hectic, moved house just started a new job, driving a T5 as my daily and missing zed life! How are things with you? Still on the ships?
