  1. Had a bit of spare time this evening so had a go on that awkward white clip and have found a spanner that seems to work quite well. Will post pic in write-up, pointy pliers now demoted
  2. Welcome. and Martin you found that fast almost as if you knew it was there.
  3. Good stuff. Is the awkward clip the white one that has to be turned 90 degrees? If you found an easy way to do it let us know That is the one, I use long nosed pointy pliers from the electrical wiring tool box, two grabs and turns and then undone followed by a little jiggle to free it. Can post pic of the pliers if that helps. whoops getting told off for not paying attention Off is easy, its getting it back on that is the art Agree, a right little fiddle and jiggle
  4. That does look good !!!!! B) indicator bulbs ? clear rear fog lens ? Having just done them seems to make a big difference for a little change
  5. Re-take didn't read what you said properly. Any signs of leaks ? I guess start with bleeding the system: Bleeding ACS004N1 CAUTION: Monitor fluid level in the reservoir tank to make sure it does not empty. Do not spill clutch fluid onto painted surfaces. If it spills, wipe up immediately and wash the affected area with water. 1. Fill the master cylinder reservoir tank with new clutch fluid. 2. Connect a transparent vinyl hose to the air bleeder. 3. Depress the clutch pedal quickly and fully a few times and hold it. 4. With clutch pedal depressed, open air bleeder. 5. Close air bleeder. 6. Release clutch pedal and wait for 5 seconds. 7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 until no bubbles can be observed in the brake fluid. 8. Tighten air bleeder to the specified torque. Refer to CL-11, "Removal and Installation" .
  6. bits ok, but overall not my taste
  7. Agree, start with battery disconnect for a bit. Sounds like electrical system is "confused" or not reading sensors correctly rather than real problems given your other thread. Other than that its an early visit to dealer / electrical specialist first thing in the morning as far as I can suggest. Hope it works out for you.
  8. This sounds dangerous Little ones, uh oh, not good idea unless you can hand them back / trade them in. Certainly sounds a first, of course other option is to have two cars, or accept that a little one can role about the storage space. Not sure which one the little one is though. Just don't do it !!!
  9. Welcome, welcome, welcome ! Enjoy the site and of course enjoy the hunt for your next car. The real experts will be along soon I'm sure but the usual things apply; Clicking Rear axle - listen when pulling away (not on gravel and have your window open) BOSE CD player can skip, so check it. Then just normal car buying things to check

Zed does seem to warm up quite quickly but then it has a relatively large amount of glass for the interior air volume. Aircon seems to work very well in mine, cools pretty quickly so if your's doesn't as said before have it re-gassed or at least checked. If you don't want to use aircon all the time (you should be using some of the time for reasons already discussed) then open those windows and get a lot of air moving, seems to increase the need for more exhaust sounds strangely.

    Clean!

Good job ! I should drop mine off sometime given that level of free service
  12. No, it wasn't. Definately doable but you must loosen the bumper, doesn't need the clips on the top loosening just the 3 bolts and that fiddly white clip. Tail light off is simple Chris's guide shows it perfectly. Bulbs for Indicators - old and new: Bulbs for fog light - old and new: Then loosen bumper 3 bolts (all 10mm) and clip (short long nosed electrical pliers were key to this, the 8mm clip is tough to get at, I think an offset 8mm spanner may work, might go back and test alternatives if I'm bored in a week or 2). The come to the rescue pliers Undoing the 2 screws holding lens in is fiddly on side screw but small thin screwdriver worked fine. Disconnect the electrics (remember the colour coding for fog versus indicator. The clip holding wiring loom in place is a fiddle as well, it has a little hidden ridgey thing. Wiring "thingy" when free from old lens, note the little raised bit, this is what grips it to the rear of the lens Clear lens: note the arrow points to the part that clips into the above picture Then getting old lens out takes some jiggling and this is where you absolutely need the loosened bumper, I could not find a way to do it without it being loosened. Others feel free to tell me I missed something. Getting new lens in of course is a fiddle too and more so as you want to keep it un-blemished. Putting screws back OK, again the same fiddly one on edge, after that it all goes back together quite quickly, just that awkward white clip item again, definitely one to try and find an easier way to deal with, think I have just the spanner for it. I'm guessing as I tried a few alternatives that it can all be done from complete start to finish in under an hour with only very basic tools. Took a few pics so put into a guide in next week whilst I'm away and do a little more of a write-up. Looks loads better with lens and bulbs changed !!

  14. Done, this morning. That is orange bulbs changed for the silver indicator ones. Red rear fog lens and light changed for Clear lens and bright Red LED bulb. Indicator bulbs perfectly simple following that genius's guide. Rear fog lens done with bumper in place but loosened in a few places, a real fiddle but doable with care, one catch a bit awkward but long nosed pliers to the rescue. Very busy right now but will post up a couple of pics and my observations on the awkward clip etc.

  17. i've dont the chrome indicator bulbs front and rear that was fiddly but easy but i cant remember if its possible to get the lens off i dont mind removing the rear bumper, its just i know i will take it off and the wind will catch it and scratch it as it gets blown down the driveway and bursts into flames So I need to pad my drive and walls before I start then, crikey this car stuff is exciting or you live somewhere errrm challenging are you doing the lens or just the bulbs mate ? Both, clear lens for fog and LED cluster and indicator bulbs to silver. are you trying it without removing the bumper Will take a good hard look first, I thought I'd try it as worse case is bumper comes off anyway, as new garage isn't built yet it will be on the gravel drive, my patience may well be tested.
  18. It is all down to the perception of risk by the insurance underwriters. Each have different groups that they will insure and take on the risk. In your case it may be that those that have older cars and insure 3rd party in their experience take less care and are more likely to be the cause of accidents when claims against them are made by other insures/drivers.
