  1. ..not unless he was a very quick draw, the rain would wash it away
  2. It's a good idea if you can get it to work. Why not buy a 2nd hand dash and fiddle with that, then if you break it no problem and your car isn't off the road. Also, when you swap the dash, you have a new one to play with and sell on to prospective buyers (on this forum )
  3. Bah, I think I'll wait for the DVD so I can fast-forward to the good bits (Robots and Megan). 2.5 hours is ridiculous, I mean who really cares about the feeble plot, all we want is robots kicking hell out each other for a while. It's much the same with Terminator Salvation: effects good, plot feeble. Incidentally, to reinforce that the plot/script is for kids in Trans1, there is a line where the big all-american robot (prime-thingy?) says something like "We lived with the Decepticons but they betrayed us". Always makes me laugh as, DUH!, with a name like decepticons what exactly did you expect you robotic twonk
  4. You could have one of KTA's top quality stainless steel knobs for less that price! I have just fitted my SS one so technically have a black knob to spare. I was going to be keeping it to put back on if I one day sell the car, but I guess if I can sell it now as it's the same thing really. It has a little wear on the gear selector pattern, not excessive and you don't see it unless you look closely. The leather is just fine. Send me a PM if you are interested and I'll take a few photos. Cheers Chris
  5. Yes, arrived yesterday, thanks mate Um, is this an original one? When I first got my Z the aerial was about 1M long!
  6. My Stainless version arrived last week and I'm very happy with it I was worried as to how the shape would feel when driving compared the the standard ball shape but I needn't have as its a dream to use. Gearchanges are much more precise which is especially useful for very rapid changes where I occasionally fluffed 4th to 5th. The gearbox has never been bad but now it feels even tauter Fitting took about 60 seconds and the new knob tightens up and lines up exactly. It is a very professional quality. It's also heavy and this makes for a nice gearchange feel. Gears snick into place very pleasantly. All-in-all I'm very pleased with what is a 'home-made' item, albeit produced on professional equipment, as it is as good if not better than anything available elsewhere. This apart form the fact that you can have pretty much any design!
  7. Well this one is a bit of a sh*t ad. I'm not sure how 'Jason' is a lady owner http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1050850.htm
  8. Makes sense. You don't want us rabble cluttering it up with reminders to go to the pictures or such trivia
  9. +1 mine said every 10,000km, but hey, once a service will do! Oops, I thought they were more like 30K. Better do mine too!
  10. Um, how do you add an item (like my birthday ).
  11. Thanks matey but hopefully Malcolm (mbs) has one in the post to me ... Can't think how you managed to get two!
  12. Do these cars suffer from MAF (Mass AirFlow sensor) fouling after filter re-oils? The oil destroys the MAF on some cars by burning on deposots and causes all sorts of trouble. The solution is to remove the MAF for the first few hundred miles so the excess oil can be sucked out. Sorry Pimm, just asking, I'm sure it is fine really
  13. Thanks Guys, and thanks Martin I will give them a call Um, Stan, no, just no.
  14. Under £300 I can live with (the further under the better though, of course), thanks for that. Martin, where are you thinking of in Sunderland? That would be ideal
  15. Coming out of my normal car park, a new post has been erected to stop people pinching a private parking space. With my usual cack-handedness I managed to locate the post with my first attempt It doesn't look hideous, I mean tell me that's not too noticeable, barely visible in the right light, eh? Oh damn. The plastic is easily touched up but any idea if than bottom corner of the door can be popped out and repaired? Maybe it's better top have it professionally filled? I'm not feeling flush this week after paying for the holiday so any guidance on the costs or where best to take it in the area, or even kind words, all gratefully received
  16. Not quite, they left it on the rear window so as i was gasping with rage I had the extra shame of having to screw the damn thing in myself. Thanks to the kind folks who have offered a replacement standard aerial. Hopefully I'll be equipped with the long twangy thing very soon
  17. Some scrote has unscrewed my stubby and had it away, and yet bizarrely has left me their old aerial in exchange! I am now driving about with one of those horrid twisty wire things you see on just about every other car in the world. I'm not inclined to buy another stubby and become the local nicking shop for anyone who wants one, I never liked them that much anyway. Anyone got an original aerial that they don't want any more? I stupidly chucked mine away. I'll reimburse postage etc.
  18. That was me mate In all my driving about this is the first spotted/flyered I've had
  19. +5 I would love to hear how Phil is doing, I also think of him most times i am driving (as I am usually thinking of what needs doing on the car).
  20. Um, I'm back after 2 weeks on hols and no progress? Please ignore if there is another thread I haven't found yet, I'm not quite back with UK life yet
  21. Oops, a death in the family on my Wife's side means I now have other commitments. Sorry guys. 1. H5 (tentative) 2. martinmac 3. Shuck (tentative) 4. Shire 5. .... 6. Lexx (most likely) 7. InsanezeD
  22. Meh, dressy shots but it's still a 'nippy-shopper' car
  23. Interesting. My belts need changing and I'm having a new clutch and flywheel. These may be only a little step further if I'm doing all of that anyway. Can I be @rsed. Hmmm. I'm thinking about it. http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Nissan-350Z/N ... -19-1-258/
  24. Yep, very nearly met him in person!
  25. If the light is on it means you have turned off your ESP. If it flashes, your ESP is on and is activated (i.e. you are skidding and the ESP is correcting the car). When you turn off the ignition then on again the ESP will be automatically put on - you have cancel it manually every time the engine is switched on, if that is what you want. I think that is right ?! .
