  1. Paint is actually standard Halfords Gloss black... but you're right it does look satin which im pleased with...! The red stripe was painted by hand with a small brush, using masking tape on the tyre side and pvc electrical tape on the wheel as its flexible enough to curve when you apply it...! Digsy - spacers and maybe springs are next on my list. Will need to sell my old wheels to pay for them though so may be a while yet.
  2. Demon tweeks do them, or used to... im assuming they still do.

    Filthy...

    That looks really good!
  4. Cheers for the comments folks! Its been great working on them and i really did work my ass off!! The finish on the black is excellent, but up close the red isnt perfect as you can imagine... although you do have to be within a meter to see it. Coverage is good but there are a couple of areas where the edges are just off. GT4 - i got the lights from Delsa Motorsport in the states, but Paul T on here is custom making them now i think ...but i dont fancy doing your wheels - the missus will kill me...! I've had mine in my lounge for 2 weeks As for my other wheels... Martin, can you PM me what u ended up getting for your rims please...? they were Ruff Racing werent they? Mine have only done about 4k miles on the FK452's so they've got to be worth something!
  5. How thick is it bud? I want to do the silver trim pieces on my steering wheel as one's a bit worn... You think that'd be a realistic application? I know IanS16 has stick on carbon on those parts and they look good
  6. +1 i was bidding on the Nissan service wallet
  7. Paul is correct. Takes about 10 mins to get off, but the hard part is negotiating the handbrake. I raised my handbrake to its highest position and lifted it gently, but watch the front part on your stereo...
  8. Hey guys, Finally finished painting my stock JDM's, and am very happy with the results...! See the progress thread here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=21148 Now, i know these are only 17's, and that i now REALLY need spacers and lowering, but im actually really happy with them! For those that dont know, i've taken my 19" Wolfrace rims off because they wobble quite badly when over 85mph, which was irritating the hell out of me. I'll be sticking them on eBay soon! So, although i've got smaller wheels, i can now enjoy driving again!! In terms of work, they took me about 30 hours to do, incl prep etc... and £42 in paint, masking tape, and wet/dry paper! Here's the pics... (i've not washed my car - just took it to the usual spot i take pics at!)
  9. I had a camera mounted in my number plate but it got moisture in it after 12 months. Yours should fair better there, but i would have though putting any kind of cover infront of it will seriously limit the field of view... have you tested it? Looks cool though You got any way of recording its feed on your setup?
  10. Thats a really cool story. Im jealous.
  11. Anyone watching it at Didsbury cinema tomorrow afternoon...??
  12. And who said men can't multitask. Well i could watch DVD's on my laptop in the garage, but its warmer to bring my wheels into the lounge. ...and the missus has hardly complained once! That's probably because you fumed her out. ... correct
  13. You must have an awesome set up, i really need to get chummy with someone with a garge Well i could watch DVD's on my laptop in the garage, but its warmer to bring my wheels into the lounge. ...and the missus has hardly complained once!
  14. I like it. If they didnt have the retarded lights i'd seriously consider one.
  15. lol, im watching F&F1 on dvd right now, while painting the lip on my wheels...!
  16. Interesting. Looking forward to the pics, and seeing how they made oval look oem
  17. Hey - pic-fest is below! I ended up doing 7 coats of black, left them to dry a couple of days, and started on the red lip last night! I underestimated how difficult the red lip was going to be - for starters the paint is really thick and shiny, so its very difficullt to paint it on evenly. And getting a straight line by hand is impossible, so im using electrical tape to mark the inner line as its flexible enough to put a curve in it. I can see this taking me another week at least of an hour a night on these lips.. Still, at least i've moved in from my garage - have got them on a sheet in my lounge while i paint, while the missus (and me) watches Desperate Houswives boxset DVD's...
  18. +1. If you get it the front bumper it will behave. Common problem.
