  1. There are dozens of identical reports on various car club forums about the same insurer. It just makes us insurers even more 'popular' The assumption is utterly disgusting in my own opinion. Ollie
  2. That's a good price, do you have any modifications?
  3. Thanks for the feedback, glad we could help. If you have any queries feel free to PM us via the forum or email carclubs@skyinsurance.co.uk
  4. Feel free to give us a try, there is more than one club insurer. http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/car-club-insurance.html Word of warning though, if you have been out of the country for 2 years your NCB will have expired. Most insurers only recognise NCB up to 2 years old. Ollie Sky Insurance
  5. You are absolutely right we are selective, we do not want to open our books up to high risks which could potentially take our specialist schemes away from us, at times our underwriting restrictions are frustrating for us as well but on a whole, we're comfortable with our area criteria and restrictions. Thanks for trying an apologies we couldn't help.
  6. That's a shame, we may be the most competitive company you can find whilst also offering a much better level of cover than your average insurer, on the other hand, we may not. I'm always at the end of a PM if you wish to check whether we can help or be competitive, usually I'd need, age, postcode, NCB level and a brief list of mods. Thanks
  7. This is the doubled edged sword I mention. We have two options if we have an uncompetitive rate, we quote it or we decline to quote, either way we'll pick up criticism.
  8. Hi, if anyone has a specific query as to why we can or cannot help, feel free to PM me. We're competitive for the majority but cannot help everyone. The fault claim will be the issue here, whilst we can quote, without looking at the details I would assume that our rate was uncompetitive so we have not offered a price. Thanks for trying us and apologies we couldn't help. Ollie Sky Insurance
  9. Our sister company is insuredaily.co.uk but it seems you have already tried them.
  10. I'm surprised you cannot get temporary cover in that case.
  11. How long have you held your driving licence?
  12. Most daily insurers have a minimum age criteria for 21 or over but the age criteria may rise with different vehicles, eg low powered FWD hatchback - fine for a 21 year old, high powered RWD sports car - most likely 25 or over. I'll try and find out more via my insuredaily.co.uk colleagues.
  13. It usually comes down to age Lee, how old are you?
  14. If you picked your insurer wisely then it is unlikely you'd be charged for a brake upgrade.
  15. We'll send out the most competitive renewal price available to us, if the price is uncompetitive when compared to other insurers for a like for like policy then we can look to use the price match service we have. We have a 70% renewal retention rate and we do our utmost to keep customers with us. Thanks Ollie Sky Insurance
  16. You're welcome, thanks for the feedback Ollie Sky Insurance http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/car-club-insurance.html
  17. No, I'm not saying that at all, I agree with you but I am answering the question you posted on the forum 'work that one out' . This particular insurer pays out more for garaged cars than cars kept on the street, this isn't the case with all insurers and for the record, isn't the case with the company I work for . Cheers Ollie
  18. The customer is always right Quite often they are also a wrong'un though Ollie
  19. They pay out more for claims for garaged cars than they do for cars kept on the street.
  20. I was possibly a little rude with that post , perhaps not ruder than usual though. It's only as I've dealt with a moaning customer today who said pretty much exactly the same thing about my company, I spent half an hour looking into it only to find he'd given us the wrong ruddy phone number.
  21. 1) your occupation 2) your postcode 3) the vehicle 4) the recent claim 5) street parking (with some insurers) 6) import car (effects price with some insurers) And yes, of course those modifications need declaring!!
  22. Serious. A decent insurer wouldn't charge for it. With regards to what and not to disclose, just disclose EVERYTHING and let your insurers do the rest. Ollie Sky Insurance
