  1. He can stop you at any time without reason if you're driving: http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/police/pow ... d-traffic/ Traffic law is different to what you're thinking Danny, where a copper stops you on the street. They need a reason to stop search/account you, and can't just stop members of the public without reasonable grounds or suspicion. I have seen plently of cars being driven by idiots and just wished the police would give them a bit of a hard time. He's probably being reasonable, but plenty aren't. Subtly tape recording conversations if he does pull you is the safest way, as if he does everything for the right reason then you accept the penalty, if he doesn't you get off with it. My step-father failed the attitude test one day, and they said 'either you say sorry to us or we'll say you were on your phone.' They ended up giving him a ticket.
  2. Yeah but it's a stick on. Same as the plastic bits with the window controls, it's a stick on that affects the buttons.
  3. Years? Couple of months at best Sorry to hear for your mate, wouldn't have thought the Zed would be targetted like that - seems a professional job
  4. Wish I had money for the Nismo. Don't think these'll be for sale for long. Good luck with it mate
  5. That's a crazy roundabout! According to wikipedia, they are also called 'gyratories' - just some useless trivia to make you look sad when you tell your mrs/fella next time you go there
  6. Really really wanna put a big greasy fingerprint in the middle of that catch can - maybe next meet Looks ace mate, nice one
  7. The funniest I ever had was when I was driving my girlfriend home after a meal, and we were on a 50mph dual carriageway. A citroen C2 was up my a**e and obviously egging for a race. Not seeming appropriate to race after such a nice evening, I didn't take him on. The car shot passed me, full of spotty youths laughing and gesticulating. Seconds later, the police car shot past and duly pulled them over. Laughed my moobs off
  8. Should have flagged up when you reported it really. £150 is a bit steep though.
  9. DVLA will give anyone your details, send them 3 or 4 quid and you will get the owners details by return. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... DG_4022067 You have to have a reason such as being in an accident, and give the police officer's details you are dealing with. They don't just pass them out, they corroborate with the officer first. Not saying it's foolproof, but it's very difficult to get info out of them. I'm in the cops and it's not easy, like blood out of a stone sometimes. In reality, little scrotes would just bin the keys and joy ride the car for a while. I doubt they will go to the effort of blagging the DVLA and pretending they'd been in an accident, and having an inside source in the police to confirm their story - all to steal a 350Z. Maybe if it was a Bugatti Veyron worth more than £15k it'd be worth it.
  10. Event tyres do have a fitting bay near old trafford Wonder if they do it any cheaper if you take it to them. . .
  11. Bloody hell, it's a change from the Mazda matey Like the 6 series, would love an M6. Not keen on the new Z4's at all. Not keen on the newest 5 and 7 series either
  12. ZMANALEX can often source the original Nismo kits. Other traders also have replica ones for a good price, such as z-store and CS.
  13. Sorry to hear that pal. Sure the dealer can sort it, keys get lost all the time so it should be a simple process. . . Do you have your reg on the keys? Even if the DVLA breached your privacy rights and gave them your address, how would they know your details? Plus they prob just think it's a crappy micra. Don't think any of the car thieving scrotes I've ever dealt with would have the nouse to contact DVLA, I'd imagine they'd use her car for a few days then dump it somewhere. What was your girlfriend's car?
  14. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=26186 - posted shortly after you posted I have a Pipercross CAI for sale as well viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25591
  15. So I suppose Event Tyres would be ok if you chase them up to make sure they turn up and then get the balancing double checked as soon as the tyres are fit they are still cheap tho. . . Who do you use now MrLizard as I need tyres soon
  16. Admin - I waited in all day only to find out that they'd booked it in for the wrong day. They weren't too helpful when they realised either. Do you not work from home Only joking, I agree that being stood up is really annoying. Should be ok to book them if I make sure they double check the dates etc
  17. In what way mate? I'm getting 2 new rears in next couple of days (your falcons have eventually died ) and was gonna get event tyres out. Was it the fitting or the providing that was the issue? Even if they just delivered the tyres, they're still really cheap.
  18. can you say why? Interested to know. It is down to the individual mobile operator so perhaps the area you are may help. There are good and a couple of bad reports from what I've seen +1 - I have used event tyres plenty of times in the past and have found the service to be very good at a price cheaper than anywhere else. Would like to know what the issues you've had are?

Think we've come in half way through a conversation
  20. Yeah the Do-Luck is very nice Good stuff, give me a shout nearer the time I am sure we can help. I was very interested in the Do-Luck kit, very cool. Only problem was the £2k price tag for rear and sides If you can supply it cheaper I'd have to have a think about it again
  21. Ha ha, love it when people do stupid things. Lucky no-one was in his path! Anyway, let's call him in a usual internet forum way:
  22. How annoying, glad I didn't have fitment issues with my ACT or it would have bankrupted me at the time Hope you get it sorted some pal
  23. How did I know this was a topic by Zedrush as soon as I saw the title You're a crazy man / woman / hermaphrodite
  24. When I got mine from Arnold Clarke they said they'd change the oil and service it. I took it straight to TDI North for them to look at it. The air filter was black with leaves in it, and the oil was gloopy. I don't trust garages unless I can see what they're doing.
  25. Yeah but that indicator is such a bad afterthought. Wouldn't it be great to get rid of it
