    Hot off the lathe!

Just in case you do start making these and selling them, I saw your examples at Wales and can say they are easily better quality than the Nismo, and look just as good. My Nismo's peeling all over and these won't as they're just a chunk of metal.
  2. That's just a natural symptom of ageing
  3. How cool would it be to read your 'Evo' magazine on the "The SS Flusher" Rocket Powered Toilet I take it that since there's no traditional U-Bend and link to the sewerage network, any 'deposits' would be expelled at rocket speed onto the bathroom wall? That'd p**s the missus off after a while

    Hot off the lathe!

These are looking very cool Not knowing how much lumps of aluminium and steel cost, and how much laser engraving costs, are these gonna be cheaper than Nismo's? Could you do black or dark metal? My Nismo's starting to peel, not very impressed. I'm in the market for a new one soon
  5. Loving the chair. The one he has at home in the house is pretty nippy. It can also recline, lift your legs up individually/independantly and is comfy as a lazyboy with it's adjustable air seats. Not quite as quick as Bullet's I bet though
  6. Welcome mate and all the best with the repairs. If you post pics of the damaged car, or a parts list, I bet you'll have an inbox full of PM's offering bits and bats from various members. Very helpful bunch
  7. Nice one CS - wouldn't have been a true Wales drive without the familiar faces
  8. That's be really cool if you banged the stick on the ground and some red purge came out. You'd look like some dodgy wizard We were actually talking over a pint about adding extra batteries to his personal pub transport chair for more power. Don't know what it would get on a dyno. . . Sod being dignified
  9. Had considered it, but wanted the subtle look rather than the racecar look. Alacantara reminds me of the inside of stripped out supercars like Lambo's. It'd also really annoy me if it didn't all go in the same direction. I'd probably end up brushing it Was thinking of using some alacantara, like on the door cards, but conscious that if I have too many different textures of material in the car it will look a bit scary and not well thought out. Gonna stick to leather and carbon fibre. Marzman - Know it's been a long time, but I had been working on it. My centre console had been with the trimmer for so long I didn't want to post up till I had some results. He's very good at what he does, but he takes his time with it and has been quite ill so that delayed everything.
  10. A couple of pics of the side bit done. Took pics in the dark so not the best. Needs a bit of a polish to darken the leather a bit, but will wait till it's all done for that
  11. I think on the resale front it depends on how much your car is worth. Mine is now worth less than 10k so don't think anything I could do would significantly affect the sale price, it's too cheap to begin with! If it was brand new it might affect it more. Personally wouldn't bother me if a car had been resprayed if it looked f'in awesome
  12. I know House had flames up, but don't know if it was carbon fibre. Think the flames were an afterthought that my Mum put on. Probably freebie stickers from a Max Power mag
  13. As some of you may remember, I decided to get some of my interior trimmed, like the centre console, door cards and the bits on the dash that carry on from the door cards. I got myself a spare centre console and eventually found a trimmer who was willing to give it a go. Knowing nothing of leather trimming, I thought this would be quite easy for a trimmer to do, and expected it would take a couple of days. But, I quickly found out the difficulties that were involved. If the centre console was just trimmed in leather, it wouldn't fit back on the dash, none of the dials would fit and the cubby would not open or close. Where the leather is stitched, it makes it about double as thick as normal, so the seam would stick out like a ridge. The hardest bit by far is getting the cubby hole to still operate. I gave the trimmer my spare centre console months ago and he got to work. He had to shave the back of the leather to make it thinner, and has also had to massively trim down the plastic. He has been doing this with a razor blade, as dremmels are not accurate enough and can leave a poor finish. You can be precise with a razor, and take strips away milimetres at a time. I went for a fitting last week to check out the centre console. It looks like this: Unfortunately, it needed a further 1/16th of an inch shaving around the air con controls, around the gear stick where the shiny surround insert goes, and around the stereo hole. He also has to further shave down most of where the console meets the dash. Just so you know how much shaving of the plastic he's had to do, I've done a pretty diagram : Around 2 weeks ago, I had a few days off so removed my dash so he could start trimming the end bits. Just for those who have never seen the guts of a Zed, here's my car: I have got the dash all fitted back together now, and the bits he had done are superb and much better looking that the tacky plastic. I'm booked in to get it all completed at the end of the month, including the door cards. Wanted to get it finished for Wales, but was not to be Thought I'd do my thread this way so I can just add bits when they're done, and post up any of the more interesting pics
  14. Have you checked to see if all the pipes leading to the jets are in order? Can you see any leaks anywhere?
  15. Made me giggle - my Mum just bought her fella a new pressie. Don't know how well you can make it out, but that is real carbon fibre. The stick weighs near to nothing!
  16. Great idea for a thread Mark I have a pipercross induction kit with polished pipe etc. The bracket that fixes the base of the heat shield down snapped when removing, but would be very easy to fabricate another. All boxed etc. Looking for around £80. I'm there on Sat and Sun Edit - Provisionally sold
  17. I took my lip kit off a while ago, and planned to get all the paintwork sorted in time for Wales. It didn't work out so my car will prob be the most battered looking car there. Was really really gutted until I heard the forecast - won't make much difference now
  18. My girlfriends dad has a 46' hershine marine with twin volvo pentas (think they are 12 liter ones) and the first time we went out on it I thought I would do the right thing and offer to pay for the fuel then we stopped to fill up on the way out of the harbour...... He of course accepted with a smile on his face, I didnt have a smile on my face when after 15 mins the thing was still filling up!! With the smirk on his face he told me I could buy the beers instead and told the guy filling up to put it on his company account!! How much? IIRC it was about £1100...... Oh my goodness! That's like almost my car insurance for the year! You really do have to be rich to own a boat! I'm not rich. My boat costs about £25 to fill up, and it's 2 stroke 9.9hp beast of an engine (which tops out at about 5 knots), has only been filled up once this year, and still has 3/4 left. I'm sure the rush of pure accelerative force when I push my lever to full power is almost equal to that of WallyPower's Now where is that picture of me in my bikina on the deck. . .
  19. NIP's are for any traffic offence that you could reasonably argue you were not aware you had committed ie speeding, red light, even if you caused an accident due to your manner of driving that may not have directly involved you. Even if PCSO's can't prosecute you, I'm sure if they noticed enough people speeding the real traffic cops would start appearing in the area, followed by traffic calming measures and speed cameras. So when you are fed up with speed bumps and blame the government or the police, it could actually be because people continually do 45 on the 30 road.
  20. I always thought this cat one was hilarious -

    Glen Fruin Road

What has your passenger been taking? Them there E numbers don't do him any favours Nice scenery around Loch Lomond. Like the long stretches of road, but prefer the twisties.
  22. Incredible stuff - gone are the days when you were cool cos you did a wheelie.
  23. You're forgetting the worst creature of all. . .CHILDREN
  24. The Shine Auto Nismo replica kit is very good, and loads on here have it fitted. Worth checking out.
