  1. Gawd I wish I had read this before I did the same job to my car 2 weeks ago. Ended up wiring it a different way but works the same as the standard interior lights. Used 2 LED light bars on each side which cost me something like £1 each from the local cash and carry. A bit of creative soldering and the job was done Looks at night, i turn the interior light off and just leave footwells lit up, these light up when lock/unlock good cheap mod imo
  2. I would agree with that! West Way Basingstoke used to be OK... I bought an Almera GTI there and servicing used to be cheap (£80-£160 with courtesy car). Last year I took my 200SX there for an MOT and they correctly spotted my sticking front calipers, offering to "rebuild" them and fit new discs/pads for £350. Not too bad I thought as refurb calipers are £250 and Nissan discs/pads £200. But when I took it in I watched the mechanic simply throw discs and pads on in 20 minutes. When challenged the service guy said they had "re-greased" as agreed, using the non-existent "grease port" I should have challenged them more strongly but it was a Saturday and I needed the car. Also it was my word against his, I had no paperwork to prove they promised to "rebuild" them. So if you have to use them, get everything in writing and ask to inspect the work and replaced parts. This year it took them 5 weeks to get a set of seals so AutoGlass can replace my windscreen... and then they didn't order all the required parts so I'm still waiting. Very poor, get yerself in the introductions section mate
  3. post a pic of them on the car, it will give people a better idea of what they are like good luck with the sale

  18. so is that pads every 9k miles ? and at what cost roughly ? no, i replaced mine recently @ 20k and they had plenty of meat on but were falling to bits, i got ebc redstuff they cost approx £100, big improvement over the oem ferodo's, a member called CS sells them took me approx an hour to do the front and rear, very easy to do the zed before anyone jumps in and says ds2500 are better, they probably are but you pay your money and make your choice, i'm happy with the ebc
  19. services are every 12 months or every 9k, so you cant go on mileage if the pads havent been done then they should be at those miles, discs really depends on how it has been driven, the pads are known to disintergrate with age
  20. i wouldn't go to the stealers, any garage can check that out stan i would drive it home and dont use the handbrake but thats me, too tight to pay a garage
  21. i can only comment on goodridge, had them all round on my last car and they were great, much better braking with less pressure on the pedal needed
  22. you lucky SOB ....enjoy !!
  23. have had reports that its hit and miss coding the key, can take a few goes
  24. Hi Stan it could be a stone or something stuck behind the dust shield on the brake disc or even between the pad and disc
