  1. and it's "Clearly you're just thick" as well
  2. sounds painful A bit OTT - he's only winding you up. Some people get too stressed in here. Just chill out (and Sarnie, try and stop being a wind-up merchant )
  3. Is anyone going to be there Friday?
  4. Sorry to be pedantic everyone, but it's octane, not octain
  5. Sooooooooo tempted by this, must resist, must resist.....
  6. Pretty easy to do DIY. Some wiring extension needed, but not a big job. Did mine a few years ago. Advice available if needed.
  7. Kuro 54 plate parked up early this morning. Anyone on here?
  8. I'm with admiral and premiums this year have gone down by 30% for me, £450 total for both cars with protected no claims. Now paying more for tax than insurance for both.
  9. You say its got a paddle clutch? Assume an auto then. Is it sitting in the correct gear?
  10. Self levelling is not the same as adjustment of the beam for driving on the right, if that's what you mean. Deflectors would be needed.
  11. Ouch, that does sound low. I assume no leaks? Oops, beaten to it
  12. The computer is not very accurate. Mine always shows DTE of 0 when there is at least 150 miles left in the tank. How many miles do you get between fill ups and how much fuel does it take to fill up?
  13. As Ekona says, don't panic As long as the oil level is okay your pressures are fine - they vary with temperature and also grade of oil used (and your gauge may be not that accurate anyway). If the pressure is high on start up and doesn't drop to 0 then the pump is doing its job. Just drive it and don't worry.
  14. The dipstick measures oil level, the gauge measures pressure - two completely different things.
  15. The intake system consists of 3 main parts, the airbox, a short plastic pipe with the MAF sensor attached and then a long intake tube to the throttle body. I think most aftermarkets keep the short plastic pipe with the MAF sensor attached and just replace the airbox itself (the pop charger certainly does that), and then aftermarket intake pipes replace the bit from the back of the MAF sensor to the throttle body.
  16. Apparently PlanetRock is now on FM in the midlands area; maybe the start of a roll out?
  17. First thing I would recommend is check the oil level. Also, when was it last changed? When mine is cold the pressure is about 90-100, but takes a while to come down to normal (the oil takes longer to reach normal temperature than the coolant, around 3-5 miles steady driving). How quickly does yours drop? It then should sit at around 60 when you're doing 60 mph in 6th gear (which is about 2500 rpm I think). It will vary with the revs after that, from around 40-80 (if I remember correctly).
  18. Use the bowling green for parking, I'm sure they won't mind! No worries. I especially enjoyed the lunch stop she organised at the Wool Centre (which had been closed for 2 years and wasn't there anymore )
  19. Same here - just re-use the old ones after cleaning them up and a dab of copper grease (and they're metal, not rubber).
  20. I have to agree with SMD - have had DAB in both my cars for a few years now (only for PlanetRock), but recently the sound quality has gone downhill. It used to be 128 kbps in stereo which wasn't brilliant but at least it was listenable, but is now broadcast at 80 kbps in mono It's like being back in the dark ages. Through a radio in the kitchen it's okay, but through a decent stereo system it sounds awful (got a proper DAB tuner on my home hi-fi as well and it sounds crap now - I use the Sky channel instead). You're better buying a Pure Highway and connecting that through the FM modulator, then you can listen to it in any car and use it as a personal radio as well (and it's cheaper). An external aerial will help the signal, but won't improve the sound quality.
  21. Great weekend. Nice to see all the faces (old and new), and a huge thank you to Martin and Liz for organising it all (and putting me up). (and sorry to those I lost on the drive out )
