  1. That's one hell of a detail - it started with Rays alloys and you turned 'em into something totally different. You can do mine anytime!
  2. After a flurry of interest this week, the guy who sent the RAC up to inspect my GT4 came up with a brown envelope full of ££ this afternoon. I was pleased with the interest and happy with what I got for it. I also think the buyer should be pleased as he's got a stunner. I do hope he joins the forum - I gave him cards Obvisouly I gave it a last wash and dry but I'd hardly finished patting it dry when the heavens opened THANKS for everything guys, the forum has made owning my 350z most enjoyable and although I won't be on here as much as previously I will pop in to see what you're up to. I've made some lasting friendships and wish you all the best
  3. Mark, I'd definitely get the work done, it'll be worth it. ESPECIALLY if you can find any corrosion on the wheels and get them done under warranty - I just did that on my GT4 and got them painted anthracite colour too My body work guy charges £25-£30 per wheel to refurb and repaint. He's in Mansfield though so a 1.5hr drive from you??? He's called Steve and his number is 07971 690 944 should you need it. As for comfort I am right there with you. My GT4 is going TODAY and I'm most likely to get a VW Touareg (5 litre V10) as a replacement. A big difference from the 350z but 7.8secs 0-60 is not too bad and of course there's the off road fun to be had. Good luck with the sale.
  4. MBS - what colour is your 350? I ask b'cos different waxes work better on different colours. For example, Blackfire Wet Diamond is a very good range of products for Black or Blue cars..... Rich at Polishedbliss.co.uk will be able to help you for sure. But also check out www.detailingworld.co.uk for a boat load of info and suppliers. I use cleanandshiny.co.uk and polishedbliss mainly. Basics are 2 buckets, one with a gritt guard. A good quality mitt (rinsed on the gritt guard after EVERY panel), some Snow Foam (and Karcher Foam Lance for your jet wash), a good quality drying towel and microfibre cloths. Oh, some quick detailer would be good too. If you're new, then stay away from clay barring your vehicle until you're a bit more experienced. Enjoy.
  5. Yeah, I know what you mean about the rims.... The new colour has taken some getting used to. But now, having had them 3 weeks I kinda like the difference they give. Easpecially with the mesh grill, together they make it look meaner And if I keep it, my bodywork guy is only £25 per wheel to repaint them if so desired. I doubt I'll be keeping it though - Saturday a guy came from Birmingham and is sending the RAC to do a recce on Wednesday. He's already stated his desire to make an offer, to which I responded that I'd consider it as long as it wasn't stupid. There's also a dealer in Bristol who's offered £19k so I'm becoming used to the idea of handing it over to someone else. I didn't think you'd be interested Liam, but if you are you know it's been looked after and you can pm me...... Cheers guys.
  6. Not into detailing.... you will be soon...... www.detailingworld.co.uk You'll get a load of advice (much contradictory of course) on detailing world. Give wwwpolishedbliss.co.uk an email too Rich is helpful) as he'll tell you what he uses on blue 350z. He recommended Blackfire products for my black GT4 and I have absolutely no complaints - they make it look wet n shiny.
  7. I have a similar problem in that I can't see more than 3 white lines in front of me at night. Kinda really. Bulbs / headlights are sooooooo damn expensive though I've taken to driving behind a man and horse with a gas lamp
  8. Thinking now of an S4 Cab..... Oh, and my phone has not stopped today so I'm pleased by the interest shown so early.
  9. Thanks for the nice words lads. I don't have anything planned, I just wonder if I fancy a change. Although I do love the fact that this car doesn't just turn heads - it creates whiplash Not many have anything like the same effect
  10. Guys Although I'm in no hurry, I'm thinking of selling my beloved GT4  As regular members will know I am extremely anal about cleaning it and have Craig Mudd (muddydetail.co.uk) detail it every 8 weeks. His first visit in April 07 being to completely rid it of swirls and quite simply make it stunning. (I have before / after pics if you wish to see them).... Here's one where you can see the difference! Here's a general pic of the black beauty.... Craig has kept up the regular visits and loving care while I've spent my time washing it (3 bucket method plus other anal techniques ) and caring for it too. I have washed it 5 times since Christmas Eve and waxed it too! Always using Blackfire Wet Diamond products. It's #154 of 176 produced. And has delicate mods: 1. SatNav 2. Reverse Parking Sensors 3. Bluetooth Adaptor included 4. Mesh Grill 5. Anthracite GT4 wheels 6. Stubby! 7. 265/40/18 rears (new in Nov 07) I have recently had the common warranty work done to sort out the clicking axles, skipping CD and bits of corrosion on the wheels. It's done 28,500 (10k in the last 13 months I've owned it). Though I'm obviously marketing to the converted, is anyone interested? Or, most likely, know of anyone who may be? Any ideas of what price I should be thinking of? Any offers?
  11. Like H5 mentioned - it should settle a little lower once moved. If not, I'd go for higher sidewalls (may be 35 would be OK but 40s certainly would) and perhaps invest in lowering it a touch if necessary.
  12. Nice plate but a non-GT, cloth interior old model Not too cheap, IMO, at "first offer over £20,500".....
  13. She could be in the Labour Government with those sor of answers!
  14. Yeah, I'm up for a little local get together. Just a Sunday afternoon pub lunch somewhere? The problem will be availability during the festive season Saying that though, I think I'm free Dec 23 & 30....
  15. I like them - I had them (with a Z from the entry guards in the middle too) but have just removed them and replaced with a black mess grill (thanks Zedrush )
  16. Tim, I'm in LA now and could pick one up for you if you like. With the exchange rate it'll be half price. I don't mind putting it on my credit card and you reimburse me when I'm back if you like. My cell is 07875 490077 - please remember I'm 8 hrs behind though
  17. Stu..... It's a shame the previous owner didn't hand it over to you clean You'll love it on here.
  18. My dealer (Evans Halwshaw in Mansfield) sends the wheels to Pristine Wheels (01908 282628) who I spoke with yesterday and they said for the 1 piece wheels (which GT4s are I believe), with the tyres removed it would cost £50 per wheel. I thought it fair and reasonable. The bodywork guy I use for our vehicles charged me £20 per wheel before but that's with tyres on. Going to check out the colour options this morning.
  19. My front two are corroding and are going in for refurbing tomorrow under warranty. I'm paying for the back 2 to be done so they match up (about £50 each). I've also confirmed that I can choose the colour and I'm tempted to go anthracite or a gunmetal - any thoughts?
  20. Nice job - I've seen that you've changed the GT4 wheels, have you still got them?
  21. This is obviously not mine but I'm posting on martinmac's behalf...
  22. Thanks Gixxer! The lady I spoke with was friendly and helpful enough and agreed there'll be no sharing of my info to all and sundry
  23. Nice job. Black is SOOO rewarding to clean properly. It's b!tch to keep that way of course but it's just so satisfying to finish the job and for the sun to pop out and show its apprection too
