Have been reading this thread with great interest. Having done the Wales Run in May a few times now I can say it is a great event which is well organised and is great fun to participate in. I shall be there again this year. I am very keen to go to the Lakes Meet this year but will I not know until nearer the event. The other thing is the time it is going to take to get there. Love driving as I do, it is realistically going to take me 8 hours to get there on a Friday due to the traffic jams around Brum and Warrington. Without these holdups it would take about 5 hours. As this seems to be a social/drinking event ( please do not shoot me down in flames for saying this) do we need to bring the Zed to attend? I am thinking either catch the train or get an Easyjet flight to Carlisle or Manchester and hire a car for the rest of the way. Come to that, if we could get enough people together we could catch a flight then hire a minibus to the event. What do people think?

What process was used to spray your wheels? May be worth investigating. The fact they have both gone like this recently would suggest something not quite right. When you had the wheels done, did you leave them on the car? Did anyone drive the car whilst it was in being done? Some questions which I think need answering

E-mailed my friends in Japan. They all think the Japanese Red Cross is the charity to support.

Have done runs to Italy in an original mini, so the Zed should cope with this no problem. The question is, do you really want to drive in some of those countries? Brave man

Have many friends there who will know of charities who are in REAL need. The Japanese People are very proud and rarely if ever ask for help. The trouble is, when they do it is often too late. If the team want me to ask I will; just PM me. France, Austrailia have said that their nationals should leave the country. The UK have suggested as of this evening that our nationals should consider leaving..............not quite so pressing from our Foreign Office. The main problem is getting out of the country. Narita is quite a way from Tokyo, say 65/70 miles. Haneda which is in Tokyo Bay, although dealing with more and more international flights, only really deals with Pan Asain and Australian Flights.

A few of us are going to bring RC Cars. If you have one bring it along

Nissan's Tochigi Plant not that far away from that dodgy nuclear reactor . Spoke to GlenMH today (used to have an Azure GT Roadster).The main issue in Tokyo now is that they are running out of bottled water, food in the supermarkets and there is no fuel for deliveries. They have enough food for 10 days to keep them going. In good old Japanese style, everyone is getting back to work but I can see inflation starting to hit big time especially on food and fuel if it is short supply.
