  1. Good point though. You can get little storage containers and keep them outdoors now. Wish I had! Got up this morning and YUK......... hopefully i'll be able to investigate it a bit further in a few days and try to get rid of it! I have the kitchen windows on the latch permanently.
  2. We'll email between ourselves first before emailing husky just so he feels left out!
  3. I always think it spoils the look of the car when i see the red tow hook on the front. I know it's the 'in thing' to make it look like you're a big racer dude but I hate it! I guess i'm just not with it.......
  4. ugh, well i'll have to leave any DIY boiler issues until the weekend now and see how i feel then - having my wisdom tooth op on wednesday.......
  5. Me too! It was probably the same one! got passed to me by my auntie and i had it forever! Same with a hotpoint tumble dryer which i got when Harl was a baby - it only conked out after about 18 years! I think they make them with a shelf life nowadays otherwise you'd never replace them! Wish i'd done a bit more research when i got mine. 15 minute wash cycle sounds ace........ Harl put some washing in last night at about 9pm and i could still hear the bloody thing at 1am! god knows what cycle it was on but FOUR HOURS!
  6. Stan whatever you do DON'T go for the environmentally friendly triple A rated ones! They use low power and take FOREVER! Lucy will tear all her hair (and yours) out while waiting for a normal wash to take over TWO hours! The shortest wash on mine is one hour 15 and i bloody hate it! Also Hoover are crap. I had a dryer that lasted 13 months, just out of warranty! The repair man said that Hoover was now owned by an eastern european set up who basically build crap but rely on the traditionally well known name of Hoover! And don't get a washer/dryer - i hate those two! God, its nightmare appliance day today!
  7. yeah i think he's been a bit cack handed and leaked quite a bit out when he was re-priming the oil. Been a typical lad he just let it go on the floor and then dabbed it with a rag........there shouldn't be a problem with the boiler its only about 18 months old and is a worcester bosch. I can't see under the boiler or anything - you know with an oil one they are quite a big floor standing appliance and its also fitted into the kitchen units so there's not much room to manouvre other than get the front off. I will try stuffing the underneath etc though, good idea.
  8. why on earth is he called Roast????? Will do. I know we have another plumber but i can't remember who it was...........even my wholemeal bread tasted of oil the other day!
  9. Out of the options you gave it has to be option 1
  10. After being rescued just over a week ago when i ran out of oil and the boiler needed re-priming, the smell of oil in my kitchen has been unreal! It was a friend of my son's who is a plumber that came and did it for me and I sent him a text to say the smell was so bad and was he sure it was ok. He said quite a bit of oil came out and yes it does smell a bit..................... I can't SEE any oil around the boiler but it's really tucked away and hard to get to, especially if it's leaked underneath. It's been over a week now and it STILL pongs. Anything i leave in the kitchen smells of oil! I've looked on the web and the only advice i can find is to put fresh ground coffee near the boiler to apsorb the smell! It's really making me fed up now! I don't want to hassle the lad that did it for me as he basically did me a favour in getting the boiler going again and is very busy! Anyone got a clue?

    Potholes

to be honest although I agree its a pain the weather has caused a lot more damage to the roads than usual fairly recently. Some of the really bad bits on main roads near me have been quickly filled in as they are dangerous but you do have to give them a chance to sort it - its a big job! Also don't just expect it to be sorted out if its not reported - they can't have someone out inspecting every inch of the road.
  21. in macdonalds car park no doubt!
