  1. I sometimes get a noise like the battery is flat but then she starts. Seems to happen more when she's been sitting in the sun all day.

There's got to be an old episode of Top Gear on somewhere at the same time. I'd even watch big brother to avoid that show.
  3. Caution is the best plan at this point. I cant begin to imagine how you feel Nixy. So sorry for you.
  4. Of course the figure isn’t accurate but does go to show the reserve is big. I don’t think there’s any point in trying to get an accurate figure. With a full tank you add weight so why bother. I know for a fact I’ll never play that game again. The fuel pump became very audible and sounded like it was gasping. To make matters worse on the day a match had just ended in the city and I had to make my way through the crowds to get to the petrol station. I had all the electrics turned off, windows closed, car getting very hot, fans going almost constantly, was getting very twitchy, tapping my figures constantly, fuel pump complaining behind me, DTE showing “- - -“ for what seemed like forever. The last thing I wanted was to run out of gas, in my glorious sports car, in the middle of a crowd of people who were already all pointing and commenting at the car. When I did get to the petrol station and removed the cap the air pressure blasted out of the tank. Never again.
  5. At the weekend I travelled home to visit my mother. 241.8 miles there and back according to the AA route planner. Fuel light was on on Friday night with the DTE showing about 20 in the tank so I put €30 in working on the assumption I’d have to put more in before returning to Dublin. €30 gave me 25.66 litres. On Sunday when returning to Dublin the price of fuel was way higher in Waterford so I decided to plough on and get fuel when I had to. DTE said something like 67miles in the tank. Not good when I had a journey of 120.9 to do. After passing the last gas station about two thirds of the way to Dublin I remembered I needed fuel. Then the light came on. So I decided to have a go at the Clarkson game of driving as far as possible with the light on. Using an online converter because I’m lazy I got a figure of 42.83 MPG. Oh yea before anyone says it was all on motorways, the total distance travelled on the M11 was 29.6miles. The rest was single lane and dualer. Shame I only get between 9 and 19 MPG in the city the rest of the week.

VBH is another reason not to watch that show. Thankfully I don't get that channel on sky.
  7. The pads are costly enough. Cant wait to get a set on. The complete setup most of been $$$$
  8. Lets be honest here. Would you buy this car as an everyday and track car? Or, would you buy this car purely for the track? Or, would you buy this car as just an everyday car? For me the answer is no to all three. If I want a track car I'd buy a track car. If I wanted the CSL as an everyday car then I'd have to get real tyres fitted but then what's the point of the car without them. If I was set on buying a BMW I get an M and enjoy the benefits of everyday driving in luxury and comfort with the power and performance the M offers. Screw the track, I wouldn't be taking my waaaaaaay overpriced BMW near it. As for the poll, I would suspect the vast majority of CSL's wouldn't see a track and would instead spend their time dribbling round city streets on a Sunday holding everybody else up. Guy
  9. Is the CSL the one that doesn't have a stereo??? Guy
  10. lol I cant stop watching the airborne Lambo. Horrifying few seconds but wow!
  11. Which one? The yellow Lambo in flames or airborne. Amazing that the driver of the airborne one just carries on driving.
  12. I was also of the opinion that big engines don't use up oil like high revving small ones but last week two days before a service I found the oil level was almost unreadable. My Z is a 2004. Will be checking once a week from now on. Guy
  13. Or even this one!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. How uncool is this one Sarnie??
  15. I’m sort of with Kev on this. Not all French cars suck ass although they do look crap. I cant recall any problems with Citroens. Renault on the other have the worst electric systems. Now before people start throwing virtual rocks at me I also consider Volkswagen up there with Renault for the same problem. The amount of nearly new cars from both manufacturers I see everyday that have lights front and rear that don’t work or have gone mad. Mad as in the brake lights start flashing when an indicator is on. Back on topic. The front of the car is too Renault. I’m looking at it now with just the front as far back as the headlamps in view and it’s just a Renault. If Nissan wanted the Z to be just a Nissan they would of given it the front of an Almera or Micra. If they build it it’ll be like the TT. The small engine model will be everywhere.

    New rear tyres

Ok, can I get this cleared up. Do the KZ's have the feathering problem or not???? I got them but no feathering as far as I can see. I was under the impression that it was the suspension geometry that caused the problem. Guy
  17. I'm a looking but cant find anything on holden.com.au or hsv.com.au and I did read not so long ago that it was gone. The closest thing I can find to it is the Commodore. I know in the US the Monaro is sold under the title GTO.
  18. New Monaro?? I thought the Ausies stopped making it. Guy
  19. StephenG got these. Not for me. You can see them on his 350z blog. http://stephengrant.com/350z/blogpage1.htm Guy
  20. Regardless of which model shows up there's no way you'll see the interior or under the hood. If it's the prototype as seen at the ring you might get to see and hear it running. Would only make me want one more if I was there.
  21. Well I'm just back from returning that thing. Not a good car. Handling was appauling. Fell in love with the Z again as soon as I pushed the short stiff clutch and turned the key. The Tiilda is just another run of the mill car that even the worst drivers could handle. Driving position feels like a jeep. Seats don't hold you in place. Corners badly at 30mph in the wet. I could go on but am off to the pub instead.
  22. A Nissan Tiida. Z is in for a service so they gave me this thing. It's the sedan model. When they handed me the keys I said, and you can quote me on this, "Can you not just give me a micra???" Guy
  23. Cheers Ming. Because as my car is a daily driver it gets parked on the same road every day (its free) which happens to be a main road out of the city so I'd have to wash her every day. My neighbours already must think I'm mad for spending so much time in the underground car park. The Celica had to go. Not to buy the Z but had €5000 euro repair to the front after Garda's hit me and I just wanted it gone. Took 3 months to repair as the TRD but was near impossible to get with the Celica being discontinued and all. I still miss it. Best front wheel drive I've ever driven. Guy
  24. Looks gorgeous Ming. Wish I could say the same about mine. Washed, clay bared, washed and waxed mine at the weekend. Parked outside work today and now she’s covered in exhaust particles. And the worst part is that I told a mate to go check her out as he wants to do the same to his Alpha. I said it was a smooth as glass. Little did I know it’s more like sand paper.
