  1. This mornings report says it regained consciences on Thursday after 3 days. Asked what happened. Got up and went to the bathroom. Sounds to me like the doctors made an initial statement without authorization. Even this mornings statement reportedly from Clarkson doesn't sound accurate. You don't get up remove the catheter and go to the bathroom. Either way the news is certainly encouraging of a full recovery.
  2. Clarkson told the Sun the only visible injury is a black eye. Just goes to show how resilient the human body is yet at the same time is so brittle. If that makes any sense.
  3. Pics of the accident don't look too bad but the rapidly changing g-forces he would of experienced would of been massive. Going by the doctors statement it's bad. "..we are reasonably optimistic that he will make a good recovery." Hope he makes a rapid recovery beyond the docs expectations. Someone has to look after TG Dog.
  4. This is certainly an interesting topic. The new Skyline / G35 has been available since 2003 using the same lump as the Z. The major difference as far as I can remember is in the saloon version of the Skyline (350GT-8). There's a 8 speed auto box available. That's not a typo. I suspect the real change though is because the GTR is due out next year and as yet the engine has been kept a secret. It's rumoured to be a twin turbo 3.5 pushing out 400 - 500 bhp. So because Nissan share all the parts between their models to reduce costs the engine is being altered to accommodate the GTR. Could be very wrong here. Guy
  5. Couldn't tell you if it was called V-Power here. I can tell you that if it was always called V-Power then they have justed launched it in Ireland for the second time. www.shellireland.com It's at the bottom of the page. Have found two references to 95 octane on the site now.
  6. It certainly is interesting. It's not like a typo on the Irish site. It's on the FAQ page under V-Power. "What's the octane rating of Shell V-Power? Shell V-Power has an octane rating of 95 - the same as regular unleaded petrol." I never liked Optimax in my Celica. It didn't state what RON it had on the pump where as other suppliers did. It also made no noticable difference to the car but others did. In the Z V-Power seems to run more smoothly but haven't noticed a power difference to the stock unleaded. Guy
  7. Can someone explain this to me. Quote from www.shell.co.uk "The improved formulation features higher octane (99 RON)" Quote from www.shell.ie "Shell V-Power has an octane rating of 95 - the same as regular unleaded petrol" Am I missing something here? Guy
  8. Thanks guys. I'll stop by a dealer as soon as I can so they can have a listen. I'm sure it's nothing. Besides, I'm not given her up any time soon. Guy
  9. I’ve had the car for almost two weeks now and the noises it makes really have me concerned. I’ll try my best to describe them. Just want to have an idea if its either normal or not before I go to the Nissan dealer. Changing from first to second can A be a chore and B sound like a thump. Changing from third to second makes a noise like a thump as well. When stationary with foot off clutch sounds like hot air travelling down a pipe but not when clutch is depressed. Also when stationary with foot off clutch sounds like small back fire coming out the pipes. Does sound kind of cool. So are these noises normal for the z or should I be concerned. The one thing worth noting is that the fuel lid says use 98 octane. Unfortunately 98 isn’t exactly available and if it was it would cost a lot more. We get 95 here and sometimes 97 in other garages but costs 20c more per litre. I think 98 was only available in a few garages. Cheers, Guy
  10. This wont be of use to anyone. 30 yrs old, living in Dublin, €2100. Granted my nc is currently suspended while my insurance co sues the cops to get their money back from a collision in my Celica back in February but when its sorted it'll probably fall to €1300 to 1500. Sucks living in Ireland sometimes. Guy
  11. Hi, Picked up my first 350z about a week ago. First test drove a 350 two years or so ago when they first came out but had a price tag in Ireland of €64000 so had to pass. Found this car 3 weeks ago at a dealership. Ex demo from 2004. Only done 5900 miles. All the extras except sat nav but who wants that in Ireland. Picked it up for a very resonable price. On leaving the dealership my mates heard the salesmen talking amongst themselves. "Luck basta*d. Wish I could afford it" Only problem so far is I cant get the car into the garage where I park during work. Similar problem to StephanG. She bottoms out on the steel gate stop. Trying to work something out with the company that maintains the gate but not looking good. Anywho, just wanted to say hello and man I love this car. Pictured is my Z and my old Celica which I'm sorry to say I have to sell. Great car. Guy
