  1. Can't decide if I'm reading this correctly. The title is "nissan 350Z 2006 cabriolet". Starting bid 98p. No bids so far. In the description it says "This auction is for the bonnet". Here's the problem. Take a look at the picture. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150078922084&rd=1&rd=1
  2. According to the Federal Highway Administration "speed limits shown shall be in multiples of 10 km/h or 5 mph." Cant remember where but there's a reservation that decided to raise two fingers to the man and posted their speed limit signs in km/h. Sorry, way off topic. Guy
  3. Taken from http://www.motortrend.com/future/concept_cars/112_0702_toyota_fths/toyota_sports_car.html
  4. Yea, the rear arches do remind me of the GTR. I read today that Toyota is divided as to build it or not. American division wants it. And get this they want power to be about 400 and price as close to $35k as possible. I so want one. I really want the GTR but it'll be £70k estimate so over here in Ireland incl taxes it'll be between €150 and 200. So if Toyota do this car and the price is good, it'll be mine.
  5. http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows ... to_01.html 0-6 4s 400bhp Estimate 3.5 V6 coupled to hybrid mid 20's economy The roof line does remind me of the koenigsegg which is a good thing as I'd love to own a CCX. Guy
  6. Should receive my copy by Feb. There's a massive global free upgrade for new Dell PC's purchased after October 06 I think. They'll grab a huge number of users from this. Lot of people in the US getting upgrade. Will install mine when I get it after a system ghost just to see what the story is. Have to test it for work before it comes as standard on new PC's and we're stuck wth it. Guy
  7. I'll probably do the same but need to have a working stock unit to put back whenever I pass her on. Also, need to work out all the parts needed to get an aftermarket unit working with the steering wheel controls for phone and stereo.
  8. After taking the day off to bring the car into Nissan they spent 30mins on it. Removed stereo, got serial number, put it back in and said they're order a new one. Sweet
  9. Video of Hammond crash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3DxRLhe_hI
  10. Havoc on Men and Motors shows plenty of crashes in which I know people were killed or seriously injured. Many tv shows drop in footage of old F1 crashes where people died. Personally I think any accident in which the safety systems worked as they should should be shown. There was an accident in DMT in 2004 where the teams traveled to Shanghai for an exhibition race. At the start of the race a manhole cover became dislodged as the cars passed over it. Bernd Mayländer then hit the cover sending his AMG CLK up in the air and crashed to the ground. Was amazing to see and even more amazing that he was driving as race speed due to overheated problems. Link to videos
  11. Wasn't a Shelby in Bullitt - was a fastback 350. Shelby in Gone in 60 seconds. Now wheres the train spotter smilie??? I was going to correct him ALso good to see you wrote it Bullitt not Bullet Ok errors noted How pedantic am I I have to say i am also a huuuge fan of the firebird, but the model before last. I dont know why but i just love it. It just looks mean Hate to be a pain in the ass but the Mustang in Gone in 60 was a replica or clone and in the A-Team it was General Fullbright in the last episode. Was an A-Team reunion on tv the other day. Two classic cars on my list if only I'd win the euro millions: 1. 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 KR 2. Merc 300SL And of modern cars? At the moment its got to be a Koenigsegg CCX. I can only dream. Funny story Monkfish, I too rented a convertible mustang for a month in 2005 and drove all the way round US. Boston to Seattle to LA, back across to the east coast finishing in Boston again. Put 10k on the clock. Great car but what a cheap assed piece of shite. Live rear made for great entertainment cutting through the hills to Malibu. Top speed limited to 115 on a 4ltr. Really sucked. No tickets. Radar detector saved my ass every day. For anyone who's considering it the car from Hertz cost €1200 ish for the month. Their price now has doubled. Two of us went. Split the costs. Came to about 2k each incl flights, accommodation, food, gas, drink and gambling in Vegas where I broke even anyway. Cleaned out some local kid on the poker table. He was very upset. Crap colour I know but they tried to give me a toyota something or other and I said I wanted my mustang, go find me one. Would do it again in a heart beat. Guy
  12. So the best option is to go to Nissan and get it replaced meanwhile buy an aftermarket unit to replace the new Bose unit. I got questions . What double din unit would anyone like to recommend and will it work with the phone controls on the steering wheel? Thanks guys.
  13. Great start to the new year for me. Bose system decided CD's are too complicated and I should only use tapes or the radio. All it says is "Check Disc". Couldn't believe it. Had to tune in the radio for the first time in years. Hate radio and haven't seen a tape for years. Love listening to the noise of the Z but need my tunes. Nissan will be getting a mouth full as soon as they open for business this week. Oh yea, Happy New Year to all. Guy
  14. Does anyone here have a copy of the workshop manual? This would be completely different from the service manual. It contains just about everything to do with the car. Detailed diagrams and instructions on disassembly/reassembly of all parts. Had one for my Celica and it proved invaluable.
  15. If it was a risk to your health a recall would most likely of come into effect. As for imports it's my experience from owning an import Celica that you have to pay for any work carried out. You have no warranty.
  16. No manufacture will do a recall if they can help it. Cheaper to fix the problem in newer models and repair cars that owners present themselves.
  17. Arrived at work yesterday. Parked car. Got ticket from machine. Then while walking the few feet into the building I noticed the only free spot left on the street hadn't been taken so back to the car to move it. As I was driving toward it a colleague arrived so I gave him my ticket. Parked car. Went to work. At about 4pm I was informed that my passenger window was gone. Legged it out for a look at the damage and found there was no glass on the ground or on the seat. Then the penny dropped like bird @*!# with a stone in it. I’d passed the ticket out through the passenger window and never closed it. Nothing taken. No damage. Nobody pi**ed on the seats. No rubbish thrown in. Amazing. Strangely, I do remember at about 2pm seeing some bloke walking back and forth passed the car. Will be doing the lottery and the Euro millions this week. Guy
  18. I have an article at home from some mag with the designer. He wouldn't discuss the engine or the interior. Last I read it was expected to be sold for about 70k. For me in Ireland that would convert incl tax to somewhere in the region of €150k or more. I have to admit I do like it and want one. The sub 8 mins time on the ring is no surprise. If it didn't break 8 they'd have to redesign as the old GTR (Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür) not only broke 8 but held the lap record for a road car for some time. I haven't been this excited about a new car since the unobtainable Veron went into production.
  19. I've a 04 which I got in August. Had about 6k on the clock. Now has 8.5k Anywho, the first noise I got was a squeak from the right rear that I could only hear when driving slowly in first or second. This noise disappears under braking. About two weeks later the clicking started. Very embarrassing sound to have from a sports car when you know people are looking. She's going in to be repaired as soon as parts arrive. This week or next. Noise is only from right rear and is hard to describe. I think clicking is the wrong word. It does sound like a louder version of the exhaust cooling down. I described it to the chief mechanic as wire mesh on concrete. He sat in the passenger seat with the window down and heard nothing even though I could hear it from the drivers seat. He took the wheel and within a second hit the brake and said yep, lets book it in. In the mean time to deal with the embarrassment I drive faster off the line. The squeak from the brake we decided would most likely be fixed after the rear was rebuilt. Guy
  20. Went to Audi TT launch day in Dublin recently. Car is fatter, still has stupied rear seats but is basically the same thing as before. A girls car. If you get up close to one check out the two buttons on the drivers door that are only accessible when the door is open. After 10mins discussing it the sales people told me they are for the alarm. You can set it when getting out if you are leaving a kid in the car or something. I laughed. They also tried to sell me the car based on the fact that you can get a set of clubs into the new TT where as you couldn't before. I tried in vain to explain I don't play golf. Check out http://www.myaudittsucks.com/ for a good story of the old TT and the Audi network. Guy
  21. Would the software that Nissan dealers in the UK and Ireland be able to enable features such as these? I'm going in on Tuesday to have the lovely clicking rear axle inspected. Will ask. Guy
  22. Did anyone else notice that Top Gear seems to of been dropped by all those sat channels that showed it constantly. It was on 7 days a week. Now - nothing. oh yea, he was moved from Leeds to the airport by air ambulance (same crew that picked him up) to a waiting plane to take him to a hospital closer to home and was reportedly sitting up on the stretcher laughing and smiling.
  23. I finished my test drive in August with: "When can I collect?" "How's Saturday for you?" "Will you take a cheque?" All the Nissan employees cursed me when I collected her. The only other Z they had was a convertible which none of them liked.
  24. Good news today. Hammond was moved to a general medical ward over the weekend.
