Trust me, you really need to watch this!!
Chris`I replied to DJsickboy's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Very clever ad for them Would be good if the Zed did that, could get it to wait outside work for me at the end of the day -
Its normally pretty civil. Biggest bottleneck is getting the tickets from the portercabin usually, but Robs got the tickets to us already, so you can drive straight in. So should be fairly quick and easy
-
Yes you are quite right, bolt straight onto the floor no problems. Was having a bit funny moment, meant that for bottom mount seats (as with my Recaro's) the holes in the frames arent right, infact the frames are large enough to reach the holes on the seats. For side mount seats you would need the Recaro side mounts I guess and they should fit on the frames. Best confirm with DT though as the holes on the plates dont always line up with those on the frames

OMP may be the quickest to get hold of then, I think Demon Tweaks had them in stock when I enquired a few months ago (OMPHC735 is the code you want, but you have to email/phone as they dont list the specific kits on the website) You will need to make adapters like Andy did for the OMP though as they arent quite the right dimensions. The best option is still the Brides, but they are rails as well as frames, so dont think they are approved for racing or anything. Adam will be able to advise.

Recaro will fit straight onto Brides if you have bottom mount seats
-
Stocky - are you planning on using the stock seat belts? If so the OMP rails are no good, they dont have the mount for them. Recaro do some, but Recaro UK dont know they do So you have to order them from Japan. Bride are the best option getting them from the US. How quickly do you need them? Adam@Z1auto is the best source of rails, he will supply the Brides. But be warned they aint cheap! He will get them to you in a matter of a few days hopefully as long as they dont get stuck in customs (very unlikely)

possibly, but i hate using 0-60 times as a performance gauge of a car, 20-100 is a better marker and on that the 276 version would be quicker by about the same amount. i always think power to weight ratio is a better guide of a car. and isn't the 309 heavier And it all means naff all in real driving as already said. There are far more prominent performance gains to be had be making yourself a better driver

Will be interesting to see what it is Sarah. I have noticed more recently in the warm weather it takes a lot longer for intake temps to drop when driving and they rise like mad at a standstill. Think if I go down the ECU reflash route I will be wanting something to stop the warm air getting sucked in (stock air box perhaps )

North Weald Airfield Day 16th Aug - Book Now!
Chris`I replied to Chris`I's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Yeah mate, its a free for all, its not a specific 350z-uk day. Ben (MAD7BOY) has a 300WHP Evo Just want to give everyone who was interested a heads up so we can all book on the same day if there is a decent amount of interest. Theres 25 places I think and 17 remaining when I checked so theres already some guys on it in some interesting metal. -
ConfuZED? Updated 31/5 pg11 - Spit and Polish
Chris`I replied to dcash5's topic in 350Z Modifications
Hmm, well mines not that dead, but when I had Tom do my tyres before Wales, I asked what the chattery noise is that comes from the engine area and he thought it was the flywheel I'll leave it until it makes a right racket like yours and get the clutch done at the same time! -
+100000000000000 I'd have to agree

ConfuZED? Updated 31/5 pg11 - Spit and Polish
Chris`I replied to dcash5's topic in 350Z Modifications
Dont think he quite did it himself from what I know Tom said the flywheel was knackered, think mine is going the same way, would be good for you to listen to mine at JTS if you can and give prognosis. I think its going to be an expensive prognosis though -
Most people put them in the front. So long as you have it in one end I think they will be happy with it

Guys, As a few have expressed an interest in doing the CarLimits activity day, I am proposing we doing one on 16th Aug. They dont appear to have any sessions we could use as a dedicated 350z-uk one, so I am planning that we just jump in on this public one. There are 17 spaces left at the moment, so although there are not many gone, there arent that many to go either! Bit of info for you: ( http://www.carlimits.com/ ) Its great fun and very cheap! Apparently you are covered on your normal insurance as you are not on a track. I am a bit dubious of this, but as its a very open area, chance of accident is very small! Have a look on youtube for the vids and add your name below if you fancy it 1. Chris`I 2. MAD7BOY UPDATE: I have now booked onto the 16th Aug day, so feel free to do the same - http://www.carlimits.com/script/viewEve ... h=20090801

In case you stick it in the gravel and they need to pull you out Aha make sense Yes make sure your tow eye is the right size people, we found out last time that there are 2 sizes and some cars have a differnt size from front to rear

Lexx: I think I have a bulb, let me check when I get home. But asking to help fit the cluster, hmmm, I think I'll pass buddy! Its a bit of a nightmare, not something I want to do at JTS! Unless there are other more practiced people in the art of bumper removal!

Sat Nav, Head Unit and Cubby Hole Conundrum
Chris`I replied to maestegman's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
How long is the lead and what year is the car? The best place to put it (if it reaches) is in the little cubby armrest. Any competant installer should be able to run the wire behind the HU, down behind the AC controls, down the centre section to the cubby. Unless you need access to it for selecting Albums etc, this is the best place as its out of sight -
No problem with trading on the forums mate, we actively welcome it. We do however charge a small trading fee (and I mean minute compared to how much BulletMagnet will spend with you!), and ask that you contact a moderator/admin when you want to start trading so we can set you up with the details before you start trading/advertising

Used to do all sorts, but as with the others, since being on this place they have all kindof died a death Photography I am still into but dont get much time for, hopefully the hoon will give me time to take some nice pics with no cars in them for once! I like to do mountain biking but due to the lack of bikerack on the Zed now, havent done that in ages. Once the missus new car lands I will get a bike rack for it and we'll be back into that hopefully between other commitements and 350z meets!

Nice one bud

Think Rob should do it, he organised JTS I was thinking, we should probably do it quite early on in the day so that everyone is there. If we get people to hang about once they've parked up we could do it say 9:30-10am? I think we should get the best crowd of people? Sound like a plan? Dont know when the track session briefing is, need to make sure we dont clash with that.

First one to run him over gets a free gift from the whole forum (sticker, hoodie etc)

If Martin W wins anything, I will be calling it a fix
