  1. +1 - Mine got done at 54k and the mechanics said they were well past their best. Phil told me its better to do them at about 40k miles or even less (I think he did them every 30k). If you know a good garage they can do it without removing the plenum as Nissan tell you to, so its not a big job or if you are handy, can do them yourself
  2. I'm sure the SEAT lads used these on SEATcupra.net and said they did have some effect. Not sure it was where the designers intended you to use them, but they used them as a breather somewhere and it did improve the engine response apparently. The only reason I didnt fit one was because you had to chop up a breather pipe. Someone like Ian might remember more than me
  3. Didn't do any shopping but had a fantastic weekend in Newcastle with the girls, i hammered his credit card on beer and of course this beautiful seventy's outfit!!!
  4. You might find that they're not too comfortable to wear for general walking around, given the soles are normally pretty thin and wear out relatively quickly and they have quite flat soles too, not much molding to the foot in comparison to a normal shoe or boot. I did think that, but Louis is a fashion slag I always laugh when I see people wearing the martial arts shoes I used to use for training. The soles are about 2mm thick, it must have been very uncomfortable for people to walk around all day in them
  5. Congrats mate, the car looked excellent, a worthy winner Definately made me seal the deal on flocking, will get mine done bit by bit I think as the Alcantara I have is fading in the rear.
  6. OK well heres mine. Wasnt really on form, I blame the heat
  7. My Rotas are anthracite with polished lip and they look very nice too. Just watch out for chips on the lip as once you have a chip and the water gets in, its a slippy slope to refurbing them again.
  8. In that case I'd definitely be sticking with the standard OEM specs that Alex posted, should give you exactly what you're after. Having a car that understeers when pushed is always the safer option, and almost always the best set up for the road. Indeed I find the stock car will understeer in mid speed corners as Rob suggests if you are not 100% commited. If you get off the throttle mid corner or apply less than maintanence throttle it tends to understeer, and a bit more throttle making it 100% committed tends to correct it causing it bite in a bit more. Yet more throttle provokes the back end and we all know what that does I do tend to find it un-nerving going in to a corner less commited as the car feels very likely to just understeer off the road and its quite hard to force yourself to apply more throttle to balance it out
  9. But what camber I guess different wheel/tyre combos will allow you slight room for manouver, but I certainly wouldnt be comfortable to run anything more aggressive than Adrians, as I have seen them on the ramp and on the road and they are spot on IMO (of course its all a matter of opinion)
  10. I have to agree. Adrians are about as aggressive as you can go in that size. Any more and you will need to run a lot of camber to get them in the arches.
  11. Amanda will still beat you (or I'll jump in the way to make sure she does ) haha, i just want some as they look good, im not actually going to wear them on track You crack me up
  12. Amanda will still beat you (or I'll jump in the way to make sure she does )
  13. Looked into it a while ago. I think we were undecided if it would work as it cant be within a certain distance of metal and we have the crash beam at the back. Never found out if it was too close or not. I seem to remember someone got it working, would be good to see if they did as I quite fancy one
  14. Happy Birthday Bex Was your present to get rid of Mike for the day yesterday? Hope you didnt steal his credit card for a little shopping
  15. I have one of those but never fitted them. Look more out of place than you expect they would. I did hook them up though and worked pretty well, think they are going on the missus new car. Managed to get them half price at Halfords for £50, not sure they still do them though
  16. Most importantly what were your figures at the wheels? You'll be amazed at how much heat soak can destroy BHP. Not an exact measurement, but Ben and I took his Evo and my Zed out with a PerformanceBox, and with my intake temps well up there I got less than 230WHP, but when we managed to drive it around and cool it down, we got 240WHP which is what it was dyno'd at last time. Not by any means accurate, but gives you an estimate of what heat soak can do. Popchargers kill your power from a standing start but once moving they are not differnt to the standard intake from what I've seen.
  17. Another excellent turn out for the club and what a great day Nice to catch up with the usual faces, but also meet some of the newer members, was a joy to see everyone having such a good time and the weather was amazing. Only got a bit burnt in one place where I missed the sun cream but not bad at all Will upload my pics later. Trying to get a sneak peak at nurrish's ones while its quiet at work And that GTR, wow, it was super quick on track. Destroyed everything, including the Porker turbo. Just hope he has his post track inspection done Almost forgot, that trials rider guy was pretty good. No Dougie Lampkin, but very entertaining, especially when doing endos over the guy on the floor, I thought he was going to land on his head
  18. See you all in the morning chaps. For those going to the Cherwell services, I shall be somewhere in the far car park near the back. Basically come into the car park then head past the main building on your left and I should be somewhere near the back of that car park. Dont go getting lost and heading into the coach park
  19. I don't do Geek! Chris, you can be one by yourself. Plenty of other geeks on here too, this place wouldnt be here without them
  20. Kind of, but I dont think the hill is that steep and the roads are narrower. I would go if they had 350z drifting up the hill
  21. Well it finally cooled off enough for a wash. Was only going to wash it, but had a few water marks, so went over it again with QD and then decided it could do with a layer of wax. Only took about an hr and a half, well chuffed with Dodo wax, makes it easy to wash and re-wax again Also added a few new additions to the exterior, we'll see if anyone at JTS can spot what, its nothing impressive, I tell you now
  22. Nice one mate! Far too hot here to go clean mine. Didnt get around to it this morning and its too hot still outside to do it. Did manage to polish my exhaust though
  23. Surely Martin can sort out a vid, hes meant to be an IT geek (like me!)
