  1. I didnt unfortunately, as an exploritory mission turned into an actual fitting session and wasnt expecting to have major bits done in one go. Was just out in the evening looking at how to tackle it, which turned into having one side fitted before I thought to get the camera
  2. Doesnt really matter tbh. If they face forwards then they are more agressive but give better braking, if pointing backwards they are less agressive but tend to be quieter. Whats more important is which way the veins are in the discs themselves, they need to be the right way around to make sure they expell the hot air.
  3. Theres actually a supprising amount of room between them and the radiator, so loads of air flow coming up through there, it gets it from the same area as the OEM intakes really. I guess vents would give it even more air, but would make them very exposed. I know in the States a few people have put the usual carbon openings in the bumper, but more to the side so not to be directed at the intakes but give them more air. TBH I think they have more than enough cold air as they are and keeps it stealth as you say. And yes, exhaust is ready to go on too. Trying to decide if I do it on axle stands myself or take it to the garage. I think I just need to get it booked in at TGM and get it done @ Stew
  4. Tech Wiki to the rescue my friends - http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Wheel_Specifications Tyres for the 17s (sorry thought you meant 18s earlier) are indeed 225/50/17 and 235/50/17 . To keep the TC happy, its best to keep the sizes as OEM as possible. If you really want to run different sizes, you need to keep the ratio of front to rear sizes the same. In a tyre calc, put in the above sizes and note the percentage difference. If you want to then change the sizes, make sure you keep this percentage change front/rear the same, and TC will be happy
  5. You can get them, I think clearcorners.com does the indicator/DRLs combos, but they aint cheap. Or Mazman makes them as the others point out
  6. Alright alright, will have a tidy up later
  7. Will clear it with the social secretary, should be up for it though
  8. 21/04/2010 - Nismo Engine Cover Little update this time, bit of bling courtesy of our very own Tarmac
  9. Reversing Cam Very helpful addition - backup camera. Fully integrated, it gives the guide lines also.
  10. 15/06/2010 - Stillen CBE Time for more changes, this time the biggest let down of the 370z - the noise. Easily sorted with a CBE, in this case a Stillen number. Decided to give a local outfit the chance to fit it as I fancied trying them out after rave reviews from various people I know. SJB Autotech in Basingstoke are VAG specialists, but Jim and his team love working on any nice car, and love the Zeds (350z/370z). They take great care in their work no matter which car it is on and at only £50/hr inc VAT, you cant go wrong down this way! The results: Unpacked and checked to make sure everything was still there after a few months in the loft! In the car ready to be fitted... I made a vid but will try and get another later. It was out the front of the house and didnt rev it enough to capture the roar! Needless to say, the car sounds so much better now, nice deep growl like a Nismo on a 350z. Much much better
  11. 03/06/2010 - First Mod! Did my first mod to the car this morning - Stillen G3 long tube intakes Think these are likely the first fitted in the country to a 370z. Took longer than I expect, more involved and cutting the little bits of the OEM intakes away took a bit of patience. Will do a writeup at some point. Car doesnt seem that different, but does seem to have added a bit of extra growl to the OEM exhaust. Seems to pull a little stronger and rev a little quicker, but I could be imagining it. Need to hook up the OBD and see what real difference its made (AFR most noticably)
  12. 20/05/2010 - She arrives! The car as she came from the factory
  13. +1 - my guess is it used to be the Zed and now its the R35
  14. Not as standard but as an optional extra, for about £2500 At least now we can justify why they were so much. Nissan should have just said so from the off and we'd all have paid up
  15. There is but the 370z version is very quiet too
  16. Maybe I should enter OEM given my car is only 2 weeks old, I can tell them its better than it came out the showroom
  17. See this is why it is always good to have a club sticker on the car
  18. The short answer is the car wasnt street legal or roadworthy
  19. Standard exhaust sounds pap, complete letdown tbh, but I went in with my eyes open, hence why I bought a Stillen exhausts after hearing Colins - its just like a Nismo on a 350z is the Stillen
  20. G37S has the exact same engine. I took one out in Reading and cant say I noticed any vibration at high revs, just the engine sounded a bit like it was being wrung
  21. When I say harsh, I dont mean it feels harsh, its the sound of it with the stock exhaust. Every review I've ever remember reading says that the engine sounds harsh at top end and I have to agree - although I've never been in a 313 giving it proper beans. As soon as you put an aftermarket exhaust on though, it goes away. A harsh feeling rather than sound to the motor doesnt seem right at all.
  22. Yup. VQ engines have always been noted as being harsh top end. Not helping the matter is the VQ37VHR revs even higher and is more harsh. Saying that, its not normally noticed as a vibration, more the engine sounds harsh hence my comments about a new exhaust. Maybe you should take it for a quick once over at the dealers? Unfortunately I cant rev mine that high just yet, still under 1k miles. Colin (Ebized) or Mat should be able to confirm as they have more miles on theirs.
  23. Yeah it was very tempting to boot it and keep up, but I was well behaved I was supprised just how well it did keep up at low revs, I wasnt anywhere near full throttle and was keeping pace. It was only high revs that the others pulled away, but were soon back on the pack again after a few corners and tourists! Not sure I will lower it, this is my daily driver and in real life the arch gaps look fine to me. Spacers will be a definate mod when I get some more cash, as are some carbon goodies. Same as the 350z, 9k miles service interval, nothing special required, just a big Micra engine The servicing is exactly the same cost/schedule as the 350z, P1 P2 etc?? It is for me at WLMG as they do the club deal prices, so the 350z and 370z are the same cost. It follows the same schedule of P1, P2, P1, P3, and in the service manual its listed on the same page as the 350z. I beleive it uses the same air filter as the HR 350z so no difference there. Oil filter I think it may be the same, no one in the US is complaining about extra prices, so I assume its next to no different
  24. I'll admit it, its all Colins fault I got mine - love it in white too
