  1. Took my mate's tracker company a week to tell him his car was being moved... he'd broken down on the way back from Nurburgring (no idea why ) and when they called his car was being towed across norther France. Don't know the tracker company name... will try to find out... his car was a Scooby, tho.
  2. Bikes are great but they complain about car drivers - sorry, but they are the biggest t*ts on the tarmac I was recently in Illinois, USA, where the bikers don't even wear helmets - it's not "cool" apparently. What a complete fookin nightmare where people drive bikes without helmets @ > 70 mph surrounded by nonscelant US citizens driving rubbish cars? Every biker I know has been "hit" thru no fault of their own - and then run over by a Volvo driver. DON'T DO IT!
  3. What makes me laugh is when I move out of the way of a biker on the motorway to let them past and they wave me, presumably because I'm being considerate to them. Hardly, I'm getting my gorgeous Kuro out of the way of those knucklehead McSpazmatrons before they gouge the side with their handlebars because of the stupid speed they pass. I'm doing it for me, mate, not you! Just today, on the M3, the traffic did its usual stop and a back went whizzing past at over 60 inbetween middle/fast lane - stupid w*ker! I think he only had one hand on the bars too On another note, one thing I learned driving the Z round Nurburgring - we go faster than the bikes on the turns! Never knew that. Of course, they take the **** on the straight
  4. Long shot, and I'm sure you've tried it, but have you given this link a go: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/motori ... centre.jsp I found a good one that way. Stevie
  5. Lol, so the fronts are a diff size to the back... I would have checked before buying, honest!
  6. I will probably be replacing the rears too in the next few months, as I'm down to 4 and 3 on the back two. I would prefer to keep the bridgestones on the back, so I'm thinking of moving the front's to the back, and replacing the fronts with Toyo's. Sound reasonable?
  7. Dealer just called, I have to book the car in for two days next month. They think it is the CV joints, but this shouldn't happen on my model as this should have been sorted in the factory. So they want a number off the CV joints before they advise repair. Looks like I'm on the last straight! Any other 55 plate owners had the same issue?
  8. Got the car back from the dealer... they acknowledge there's a fault but they have had to contact Nissan technicians to find a resolution. So I still have a creaky car and need to wait for the dealer to contact me for a return visit. The techie I spoke to mentioned the drive shaft... gadzooks! The saga continues!
  9. post editied. Please see last post
  10. Mine's in for its first service today. I get a creaking noise when there's "torque" on the rear wheels, ie. when I accelerate / decelerrate via the throttle, not the brake. Make my lovely black coupe sound like an old granny's shopping trolly I mentioned it to one of the guys (demo guy, not techie) at the dealer and he said it was a common "feature" of the Z. If that is true, and it can't be fixed, I'll be going mental mental chicken oriental. I expect the creaking to fixed today, or with a subsequent trip. No way should Nissan's flagship luxury car sound like this. I still love the car tho - awesome!
  11. I've got the TomTom700 and it fits nicely into the cubby. Only need a wire in to charge it up and the battery is fairly good. No screen connection for me! They only downside is that with the cubby placement you can't use the window sucker thingy which has the microphone for the hands free kit. Mind you, i've attached it to the window screen before and it was ace, on either side. Don't do the Nissan satnav, mate, buy a TomTom and send me the remainding cash! TT700 = 325, but you should be able to get it cheaper (to quote Goodness Gracious Me).
  12. My gearbox is well noisy - in fact, the whole car is noisy (mind you, I don't get any interior squeeks...yet). The gear box "rattles", the back wheels creak like an old man's knees, and sometimes when stationary and in neutral I can hear the cogs turning somewhere in front of me. I've done just over 10k. Mind you, it's still a blinding drive! First service on Fri! Cheers Steve
  13. Yet I again I spot nowt on my trip. I went from cloudy Staines to the sunny south coast (managed to get sunburned yet again, doh!) for a paddle in the sea - via M25, A3, then back up the A/M27, M3, M25 - but nothing. I keep my eyes peeled too
  14. After travelling over a 1000 miles round the UK last week, I didn't see one Z! I travelled round the M25, up the M1, M18, A1, and some M62 - not a sausage! Nice
  15. Me and the missis are going. We tried to get a local hotel but guess what. We'll be zooming there in the Z (as much as possible) - nice drive via Stonehenge!
  16. What you really need is a heavy right foot... I got the digital up to 158 on the last roads back to the Euro on the French side - fookin great, the car was ace! It was that solid I could waste time trying to take a photo of the digitial speedometer with the phone camera!
  17. How easy to take it off? Taking the Nissan badges off was tedious!
  18. Where did 8;20 come from? I was there last month and spent more time squeezing my cheeks together than anything else - so whatever my time was, it must be a cheek squeezing record!
  19. I'm want one thats built in. I know its stupid and maybe a waste of money in some peoples eyes but THATS WHAT I WANT!!!!! I just want to know: A) is it possible? b ) What systems are available? C) Cost? D) Will I need to modify the cubby interior to allow for the sat nav? E) Has anyone on here done anything similiar? Sorry mate, just teasin. I can understand you wanting a built in - so do I! The TomTom 700 is great, though. Love it.
  20. Good job ur not in the States then - I've been here two months and they are pretty common. Saw the new porsche today - looks a cross between a 911 and a boxster. Missing my car... my buddy has been turning the engine over and running the AC while I'm away!
  21. I've got a 55 plate and mine does the creaky thing when I set off / stop. Only noticable with the window down. When I was pulling onto / off of the Nurburgring I thought it was embarrassing to hear my car creak like an old guy I spoke to the dealer briefly some time ago and was told "its something that all Zs do". Well my service is due soon so I'll be taking it up with them then. Surely a 55 plate shouldn't be suffering from CV joint issues?
  22. Stop being such a tart and buy the top of the range TomTom for 325 - it fits nicely in the cubby, doesnt slide, and you only need the wires in when it's chargin. Close the cubby door and no-one can see the unit.
  23. Nice one m8, I've been in the states for two months and guess what I miss the most? What's nice is that my family and friends have been looking after the Z while I've been away, washing, waxing and turning the engine on and running the AC. I've seen loads of Zs over here but its not the same! Brit Zs and the whole Z ownership thang is great Welcome
