  1. Bad dates for me (and I need to save the new Avons!). But for those thinking of going - that's an amazing price for what will I'm sure be a cracking day! Well arranged!
  2. Hi all, After some (ahem) spirited driving at a CarLimits training day recently , it looks like I need to get a couple of new rear tyres for the Z. Can one of you kind Moderators PM me the club discount code for Blackcircles? And thanks for your efforts to get the discount in the first place! Fantastic day was had, Andy Walsh is a driving genius and I now know how much more I have to learn! PS I'd like to say it was me driving in the photo, but...
  3. Interesting about the 'new bulletin' rumour - mine is currently awaiting parts to fix the clicking, so could be timely...
  4. I'm with A-Plan in Thatcham (brokers, search on Google for the phone number) who somehow managed to drag my renewal quote down from £550 to £350 when I found that price with Admiral and Privilege (joys of living in the back of beyond where the air is clear and the roads are empty..ish). Dunno what they're like for JDMs though...
  5. Nice pics! Sorry I couldn't make it this time, would have been perfect weather for a blast...

    Clicking rear

Some good news after yesterday, thankfully the technician recognised the symptoms before even coming out to the car (unlike the reception blokey). They gave me some schpiel about possibly needing the car for 2 days to sort it out (they need to check whether there has been any wear and if not will lubricate things rather than replacing parts?!). Help me out here guys - if this is a result of 'inferior' parts, surely lubricating bits will only delay the inevitable?? Car won't be in until the middle of next month (work comittments) so plenty of time to discuss...

    Clicking rear

I'll be seeing what they say on Thursday - can't come too soon - mine is ticking like a bomb when pulling away . Perhaps I can negotiate their new 350Z demo for when I take it in to be repaired - NOT!

    Clicking rear

Cheers all - it's nice to know I'm not alone (and given the number of threads on this subject, clicky axles look like another 350Z design 'feature')

    Clicking rear

With the good weather and savouring the exhaust note with the window down, I've noted a clicking noise from the rear of the car when pulling away - probably the dreaded (and it seems common!) CV joint click! Got it booked into my nearest dealer (Hammond in Halesworth) - never used them before - for an inspection next week. I mentioned this seemed to be a common fault (and now note there's a Technical Service Bulletin for this!) but the service guy hadn't heard of one I've found one link in the FAQ for US Infinitis - is this the right one? Cheers! DrP
  10. Coming from a 'classic' scooby I'd done the 4wd rocket-thang, so was looking for something that was an upgrade, something which excited me I ended up with quite an eclectic mix: M3 - too expensive in the end MCoupe - nice, but too old Lotus - too unreliable (I've had a Chimaera, great car, watching buttons disappear into the dash when pressed was all part of the fun! ) Clio V6 - blame EVO! Great looking car, but that's just willfully impractical... And so, 350Z! RX8 - never lusted after one. And I agree - by all accounts no torque!
  11. Excellent bit of kit when you don't know quite where your destination is. And more importantly, endless amounts of fun seeing how irate you can get the lady giving directions by ignoring her commands... Practice for the future...
  12. Hmm, interesting idea - I'll give it a go
  13. Aye, found the dimmer switch for the dial lights (slightly more useful than the 'clock dimmer switch' I had previously in the Subaru). Looks like my retinas will just have to get used to it. Roll on the summer!!
  14. Hey all, Over a month into Z ownership and still getting to know the car. I look forward to learning more at a CarLimits training day next month... Question though: Is it just me, or is the blue dashboard light indicator for the full beam incredibly bright? Felt like sunglasses were needed to reduce the glare last night.... Anybody got a solution that don't involve taking the dashboard apart or small bits of masking tape...?
  15. Spotted! M4 near Swindon. You passed me in the middle lane before I spotted you (pottling along with the cruise on ). The only one I saw in 250miles of travel!
