  1. yeah 11" have been done on rears (Think Giles' Racing Hart are 11" rear), bloody wide though!
  2. Hopefully I will be proven wrong by great gains verified on a dyno but... so that just replaces the tube and the filter? I fail to see where any gains can be had (assuming the ECU didn't mess things up, which it does anyway) Surely a metal pipe is more prone to heat soak than the oem plastic one, and as already seen with the K&N and Nismo drop in filters.... no gains to be had anywhere I'm afraid. Price is as well. I see no future for that mod I'm afraid (might as well get a Typhoon, cheaper, better presentation on the engine bay and at least you have a nice sound which you won't get if you keep the stock airbox!) Sorry Andy if I ruined your sales pitch but what needs saying, must be said
  3. managed to get the bonnet back from the idiots at the bodyshop. Suffice to say I'll never ever use them again. despite having had the bonnet for weeks, and saying it was ready, they didn't touch it. The small area that needed doing has somehow got better so i prob won't be bothering to touch it, but the question remais.... why the **** did they keep it for so long and didn't even touch it? I know why, they got paid and they didn't give a **** about keeping a customer. d@ckheads
  4. yes definitely something you never want to see.. unless you are gay that is (and even then, I'm quite sure some gays would object) but we have all seen the pic. And next time you hotlink anything, look at your post afterwards. This kind of stuff gets you banned http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goatse.cx
  5. you won't you'll be on the ferry
  6. afaik only StephenG has got it and his Z is FI. He says he had gains after remapping his Vortech. In the US many people hate it, many proved it lost hp on their Zeds. NA I think was one of those cases where it lost hp and torque too, iirc. personally I'm not too convinced by it.
  7. yup the 380 of the AM is pee poor compared to other V8 outputs
  8. I would say so. Areas would probably be best, ie Scotland, NW, NE Midlands, SW, SE
  9. at the time we tried it all, then when i got my hi-flow cats fitted by Joe's (AMV8) trusted mechanic did give it a go, but no luck. Only way to take it off would have been rad off (so drain coolant etc... PITA) air impact gun and it would have come off. it would have then become stupid from a cost point of view since the gains are minimal to say the least.
  10. lol it was aimed at the male population of the forum Jane
  11. we have a few members from abroad too! you seen the Australian hottie's pic?
  12. well... that is if you manage to get the OEM ones off in the first place... without having to take the radiator off in order to have enough space to use an air ratchet on it. Nothing would budge mine... long breaker bars, no effect, 2 people hanging off the bar, nothing. the thing would just not shift. Ended up selling them on (and made £5 profit since I had bought them well cheap )
  13. Interestingly (and I had no idea until I did a spreadsheet calc. just now) a tread difference of 7mm (I know that's at the extreme) makes a 2.2% difference in rolling radius and circumference. This is significant and might explain why changing one wheel from a very low tread to new would affect the slip you know what, that was the only thing I could think of too. fronts will be say half way ~4mm and rears are new (say ~8mm) and that was THE only difference since the tyres are exactly the same as before. ah well, empty car park here I come (will have to re-establish tread depth front-back symmetry somehow! )
  14. HF cats don't give CEL, test pipes do on the Z
  15. the NW local meet can be safely included in the Mascrat Manor meet every 2nd Monday of the month, really It'd be great to see similar local meets around the Uk though
  16. you already had an account Adam http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/profile.p ... ofile&u=65 ah well I'll forgive you if you manage to get my blue lightweight WORK lug nuts
  17. looking nice same kit as Sumo's Pink One
  18. was watching a repeat of the TG episode on the Isle of Man where they tested the 911, M6 and AMV8. to get the M6 to use all the 501 HP (!!!) took them half an hour, it was so complicated to set it up! They were disappointed by the AMV8 too, apart form looks and sound. The 911 apart from being £15k cheaper, was also 5-6 seconds faster on the short trial they had (which makes it even worse for the other 2 cars!)
  19. to confuse things further.... when i first put on my alloys (18" but wider, much wider than stock) all was ok, never had any issue of TCS and ABS kicking in prematurely, whereas now that I changed rear tyres (and not fronts) I get the TCS to kick in when not needed, mostly on fast left hand bends.
  20. you can tell really.... mine are chromed for example. Liam's are bare alloy (both liam's) I'd rather have bare alloy tbh, much easier to refurb by yourself after a curb incident
  21. PM me for bank details if needed guys, especially if you still have my Barclays details: they've been chucked in favour of A&L
  22. All, advance tickets can be purchased at a discount! They are £12 instead of £15, per person. they are valid for the whole weekend. I am booking a 30 cars plot, let's make sure we fill it!!!! (costs £1 per car, so that's £30 that we are advancing.) people who want to order advance tickets can pay me directly through paypal (add 3.5% for Paypal charges) or bank transfer (PM me for details) let's see if we can make this event even bigger than last year's!
  23. it's all about finding a dealer who is "sympathetic" to your car I've had quite a few bits done under warranty and always managed to have it my way despite the slight mods on my car mind you, last month of warranty now....
  24. Mate, your gf has taste I can't believe that this is the first time I've been spotted in nearly 2 yrs How bright does my car have to be liar i spotted you in the black one ages ago
  25. wish I could say the same for my bodyshop, they do good work but their customer service is **** poor, after the latest mess with my bonnet I'm never ever going to use the idiots again! bump for good parts! anything else has come off the Z? that ARC exhaust sounds nice!
