  1. TG magazine voted the Z best car in 2004 IIRC Clarkcon had to give the prize too
  2. I'm not saying repairing the gearbox, just talking about swapping it. swap gearbox, and change clutch and flywheel is highly doable in 1 day. Ask away on the US boards and people who do these things themselves will tell you exaclty that
  3. been looking at the itinerary/stops more closely now... day 1 8th June manchester-dover-boulogne-Loire (long day but should be doable) 4 nights in the Loire valley with the Z clubs (UK and France!) 12th June Loire-Spa is over 450 miles so I think we'll have to stop somewhere 13th arrive to Spa, visit to the Town, relax 14th visit somethign else in the area Accomodation to be decided by each party (will post my choice soon) 15, 16,17 June Spa Euro race, Francochamps circuit click here for details of the event 18, 19, 20, 21 June Nurburg, visit surroundings, RING! 22 June Travel back to Boulogne-sur-mer, overnight somewhere 23 June ferry to Dover and back home
  4. +1... gearbox out is what, 5hrs, then clutch, flywheel....that's 1 day's worth of work right there imo but they should have kept you informed
  5. that's the most ridiculous statement I've ever read, short of every Sarnie's post EVEN with VAT and shipping, proper quality wheels are almost always cheaper in the US, whether be them from Adam @ Z1Auto, Performance Nissan or whoever else you can trust. Even more importantly, I'm quite sure that Group Buy you mention is members only, so absolutely fu@ing pointless and defeatin the object of "group buys" which is "to get the best possible price due to numbers pushing the price down". restricting a Group Buy to members only is just funny (unless of course there's some financial implications which we don't know about, ie a club having financial gains through it.... )
  6. ouch, funkystyling quick! they had some for sale cheap!
  7. yeah thought it was a better format than last years'
  8. starts tonight 8pm, hopefully will be better than last year's
  9. Ming do you check for paint thickness? surely there's the risk of taking off a bit too much paint with the PC? especially on Zeds where the paint is very very thin?
  10. debbie is going for her Lambo drive on Saturday, in Loughborough, so i thought I'd make a weekend of it and buy a couple of tickets for the FIA GT championship round @ Silverstone on Sunday! £20 per person for both days, and considering Debbie's drive will be at 11am, there's time to go have a look on Saturday too! RJN's new 350Z will be present too, open paddock etc, should be nice! We'll be staying in Milton Keynes on Saturday night, not too far from the Circuit, about 12miles. if anyone want to join us on Saturday evening for some food, or on Sunday for the races, is more than welcome PS we'll be in the Yaris

I decided to paintshield only the new bumper mate, as it wasn't worth my while to do the new bonnet, for the above reasons. TBH the water leakage into the engine bay was the biggest reason i decided to just use the new bonnet as shows only
  12. sounds like they want to get your expertise, pay you less, and then they'll lump you with more responsibility. NEVER believe to "chances of rises later on" without anything in writing, either. I have a rule wrt moving jobs: NEVER EVER EVER take a job whose salary is lower than your current one. if they want you, they'll at least match your current salary

That's a bit like having a shiny front door for when the Queen visits - man, you got it bad well not really, it's just like having 2 cars, one as a daily drive, one as a toy. Since I can't currently afford to have 2 cars, that's how I play it. And tbh i'd rather do it this way, instead of leaving the Z languishing in the garage for weeks on end and use another car on a daily basis

you are right Louis, depends on how the car is used. WRT Evos and Scoobys, those sccops and vents are all std from factory, hence any possible side effect (and most importantly, aerodynamic and cooling effects) has been taken into consideration by the car companies.
  15. aww looks really sad in that pic

well, it depends doesn't it I put the finest mesh I could find on mine (which in comparison are much smaller vents than Phil's) but I will also only use the bonnet for shows etc anyway.
  17. so you are saying that resetting the ECU won't clear that airbag light? I thought it would, or does the ABS code resides elsewhere?
  18. that is not a bad idea, will confer with the others

not a fan of that style, personally. I see what you mean by fitment issues, tbh in the US most people who've had Seibon bonnets have mentioned fitment issues with their stuff. Also rememebr Joe's car was a nightmare for shutting the bonnet! Mine isn't good fitment (for my standards anyway) either but at least I paid peanuts for it Also, with that mesh the engine bay is going to get flooded at the first sign of rain! Hope you don't use the car daily!
