its not for originals its for copies useing a technique called likwid art. http://www.likwidart.com/ this is his website and the kind of stuff he does, somethings i don't like at all but other things he does are amazing, have a look at his lettering and logo section, some of the stuff in there is indistinguishable from OEM and some looks even better. he is going to do his own version of the Tommy kairara badge. if its pricing you want to know; to give you an idea at my last car club i organised the JDM eagle badge to be made; it was a similar size to the tommy k zed badge but more intricate, and i'm sure if i remember rightly they were about £35 a logo. thats just a guide line, can't give you an exact price yet as he hasn't tried making them yet

yes pllease buddy, those pics are ok, but the first one which is nice and close is taken at an angle, and trhe second one is 2 far away. if i cold have a pic taken at the same angle as pic 2 but close up like pic 1 would be perfect. and the rubbing of it would be perfect.

these are the originals from tommy k themselves,

Carbon Fibre - ever had a go at it yourself?
rtbiscuit replied to givememorepower's topic in Styling
I have no experience with these thing biscuits as my hair (whats left of it) needs 10 seconds room air exposure to dry whats left of my hair gets a number 2 trimming every 3 weeks so am in the same situation, but i nick my wifes spare one for DIY jobs. it should work like a heat gun and draw the bubbles to the surface. -
axle stands are fine, my mate mark has a mk1 mr2 thats been on axle stands outside for a year now and its been fine. personally i'd jack it up put it on the stands and then put some wood under the jacking points. that way if for some freak reason the jacks were to fail it would hardly drop.

i have a bandsaw which does a good job, but something like a dremmel with a cutting head and a steady hand would probably do. -

+ 1 on that. I did have a look at this not long ago but the thing that put me off is that you can't get rid of the air bubbles without an oven. use a hair drier. it gets the bubbles out -
its not really a vinyl, they are a plastic resin with an adhesive backing. haven't worked out the finer points of the wheel centres, if the current ones can be modified i.e. you can remove the nissan logo then you can then stick the new logo in place. if not i might need to try and source blank wheel centres which you can then add the logo. haven't worked out the logistics on this one yet

M350ZB i notice you have a tommy k original on the rear of your car, is there a chance you could take a really good close up of it for me so that rob at likwid art could use it. and even better would it possible to go nursery style and take a crayon rubbing of the original fro me as well. cant do this project without a good close up and some dimensions. and the rubbing would allow me to sort out the dimensions and angles

it suits the car, and gives it the ability to confuse people so they don't know what it is. oh and it looks good.

Rear badge 1. Jay 2. hotrain 3. Scottsoulby Side wing badges (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. Stew (gloss black) 2. hotrain (CF) 3. front nose badge (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. hotrain (CF to fit indent) 2. 3. Wheel centres 1. 2. 3. cheers guys for showing interest. as for pictures i can't really show you anything till we have something made up as all the ideas are in my head kind of. i suppose i could try and explain them i.e. the nose badge wing badges, if people who are good at photoshop want to have a go knocking them up. but all the others should look pretty much like the really tommy k, just different sizes depending on location Nose badge - picture the standard nissan nose badge or the ones with a zed in (preferably the one with the over sized zed in) then keeping the outer cirlce and wing shape just remove the nissan section (or the chrome zed) and replace with a large tommy k badge that fits into the circle, with all 4 corners of the zed touching the inner edge of the circle. then it can be left plain i.e. you can see the paint work behind or have the background filled in either gloss black or carbon or something else. wing badges - same as above really but just sized to fit. think standard wing badges, just swap the chrome zed for a tommy k. all the others would just be a zed, as for different colours there is no reason that the tommy k couldn't be a different colour,

Right not sure if i have posted in the right area as its not really a group buy as such more gauging interest to see how many people want them so that rob will have an idea on numbers. Rear badge 1. 2. 3. Side wing badges (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. 2. 3. front nose badge (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. 2. 3. more names can be easily added just put 3 in each as a starting point just gives me an idea of what people are looking for if you can think of any other applications let me know. the rear badge could be used on the rear strut brace but you'd need to fill the original hole and then get it covered by P15ULT in carbon before hand. if you got a blank richbrook, you could use the same one as a logo on that as well.

welcome to the suffolk posse, love the yellow one, very nice. will hopefully organise a mini meet in suffolk at some point. will let you know. if not get yourself down the the south eastern ones they are the biggest and a lot of us from suffolk go over to them. -
i'll start a new thread when i get home specifically for it. but to be honest until the 18th of may, there won't be anyhting solid to look at. the progress will really speed up from there.

what i've been discussing with rob at likwid art is first off is to get the sizing and shape right for a rear badge. this can then be used on the rear strut brace, and on the front end if you have smoothed off the indent for the burger. next stage is to get some replacement round ones to go under the indicators on the wings, idea is to replicate whats already there but change the silver zed for a tommy k one and have either a gloss black or carbon fibre back. with the chrome ring around it. also talked about doing wheel centres as well. could also look into doing a replacement nose badge with the burger shape, but instead of saying nissan, it would have the tommy badge in the middle with a chrome outer that fits in the indent thats already there. but it will be a stage by stage thing. should have some of those done on the 18th of may as my car will be the test car. will leave it with him for the day while i go off to my conference.

the reason i'm going up there is so that he can measure all my car sections up for other logo locations and also to make sure that the badge will cover the 2 location holes

have just spoken to marshalls of bury st edmunds who have had a reply from nissan GB regarding my clicking axle and have refused to fix it out of warranty. there reason is because i haven't been a loyal customer, i bought my 350 from a non nissan dealership so i didn't get there extended warranty. and didn't buy from them, so they aren't going to do it. nissan GB are a bunch of $"!"£$3£%£"2 "E£"!3" not sure what to try next the car is out of warranty by 3 weeks. should i speak to nissan GB direct about it? only had the car since november would the dealer i bought it off pay for it do you reckon? i thought most cars come with a 12 month warranty when you buy second hand from a dealership?

just been on the phone to rob at likwid art who says that these should be no problem to do a tommy k replica. what he does need is a really good close up shot of the badge. and also if possible some dimensions of it, hights widths etc, in fact if some one had a crayon and paper and took a rubbing of it would be even better. am hoping some people would be able to help me out. will be going up to see him on the 18th of may as it conincides with a conference i'm on in birmingham. as soon as i've seen him i should have a working prototype from him fitted and from there everyone else should be able to order them. don't know anything on prices yet but they shouldn't be too dear. he also mentioned that when companies say that items are on back order it tends to mean that they can no longer get them, but i don't know how true this is.

i'm on there as well look for richard thompson, location should be ipswich will go on later when i get home and add some people but no access at school. although the kids seem to find websites that allow them to bypass security. might have to go into one of the detentions and find out how they do it.

Carbon Style rear strut bar cover - Dream Customz
rtbiscuit replied to P15UL T's topic in Member Traders
that looks great mate, do you reckon its possible to do the door pocket things with the window controls on, as mine are scratched to buggery. thats the only reason i want to cover parts of the interior, same with the steering wheel controls also got scratches on, i think the previous owner was a bobcat. might also need the centrew console doing as i have a new cubby on the way and i fear it might be a different colour. so prices on those bits would be great
