  1. rofl don't hold back there mate
  2. just saw an advert for direct line insurance one of its selling points on the advert was the fact that it has vandalism cover that doesn't affect your no claims bonus etc. just seems to show that this kind of stuff is obviously on the rise as insurers seem to use it as a selling point
  3. I think the load on you would be 55% of the total kerb weight .... or thereabouts ..... so a lot less than what he said ... you would still be a bit sore though if the trolley jack failed !!! attak your so anally retentive, without plucking hairs on this one, you still have a full weight car falling on you, but admittedly some of that would be taken up on the suspension. the car sits very low and there is a lot of travel in the suspension when you jack it up. i wouldn't want to be under there id it failed.
  4. nixy why you using attak's address
  5. if you'd like a set i can do some for you but i think its a case of forming an orderly queue. you'd need to paint first, then you need to allow time for the paint to harden between coats and before applying vinyl. so you'd need to be without door handles for about 3 days. if you do it properly.
  6. do you not need a trolley jack to get the axle stands under? if you use the one with the car you have to use the jack point for the jack and the stand, so it aint never going to happen. if you use a troley jack you can lift it from the centre of each axle (from in ians picture) then pop the axle stands under the jacking points. i would probably do it with just the trolley jack, but i've always been brought up to do a job properly and you shouldn't trust your life on a trolley jack and should axle stand it at the same time. its not fun having 1645 kgs of car falling on you
  7. this was my original attempts viewtopic.php?f=26&t=33450&hilit=di+noc+carbon+experiment i ended up taking it off and taking it to a pro to do. flat surfaces are quiet easy and so are minor curves but but the wing mirrors were a pig to do and i didn't even try doing the main body of the door handle. you can buy the vinyl off ebay, or othere online merchants.
  8. we used to be a little naughty when me and my mates were in our late teens and drinking, but never vandalistic. the odd trolley ride. but we'd never nick the trolley only use one that had been found in the street. people just seem even worse these days.
  9. need to sit down and work out prices. hoping to fit mine at the weekend. will try and get a set sprayed up next week and then get them to the wrappers.
  10. forgive my stupidity, is that a dump valve? looks like a very nice piece of kit
  11. when i put the new ones on i'll have my old ones going spare. so i could do another set for others if they wanted, and then run it on an exchange basis.
  12. i so need to get a proper trolley jack, i use my boot jack for too much
  13. are bently and british aerospace running again this year. the money you lot spend dwarfs the school budgets still it made it all the more better when we used to beat some of them hope you place well this year

  15. buggery is the new punishment for non conformity ? ......... ........... ........... i hope not as thats quite a worry pospect. Police officer: Do you know why i've pulled you over Driver: Nope i thought its cos you like me Police officer: sorry sir its not that; your were doing 53 in a 50 limit. Driver: oh dear i hadn't realised Police officer: you'll need to step out of the car drop your kecks and put your hands on the bonnet. as your about to get shafted by the police.
  16. i've had 450 out of the tank and the MPG gauge was showing another 50 miles left in the tank. not impossible to achieve, just requires lots of roads with average speed cameras on most of the journey
  17. i didn't want it looking like a rainbow on the front. the simplicity of the white on black makes them stand out better. too much colour would detract form the Di-noc underneath just my opinion though
  18. lack of respect in society these days, my guess is a couple of drunks on the way home thinking its funny. so sorry to see this hope it gets sorted, and they find the twunts and make them pay.
  19. love TVR's don't mind oggling them at a meet. rather them than a load of chaved up corsa's and fiesta's i like a mix of things at a car meet and the more exotic the better.
  20. Finally got these all sorted tired a little experiment with it myself but struggled with the complex curves and just didn't get the professional finish i was looking for so i've called in some professional help. These are the finished article. first the wing mirrors: nothing new here as several others have already done this but it was something i needed to tie my car togehter now i have the black wheels. sorry for the indoor pics, the car is in my garage and its blocked in by the wife. will get proper pics of the car in its entirety as soon as it gets a proper clean and i finish off the last couple of exterior touches. I have seriously contemplated real carbon covers, but i've always been worried about the fact that they don't wrap round the front of the mirror, so on a silver car you end up with a very noticeable lip around the mirror. these don't go all the way in, but its a marked improvement i think. the second thing is with the real carbon ones by big concern is some little scoat nicking them as they are just stuck on the outside. they might not get them off fully, but they'll probably ruin them in the attempt. The door handles: i think this is one of my favourite mods so far for the outside. and they look amazing in the flesh. the wrap goes round all the corners and gives a real complete look. i tried the real carbon covers on a mates car and the y do look good, but one of the issues that niggled me was that when you opened the door you could feel the lip of the cover. and i'd be worried over time that i'd end up pinging the handle cover off. and like the wing mirror covers my fear of losing them or having them nicked would bug me especially at the cost they are to buy. i'm hoping this will give a really sturdy finish. i've used painted parts before and one of the issues i've found is that over time the paint chips and on black handles will look very obvious. same as whats happened with the original silver handles and hence why i've refurbed them.
  21. ok heres the final install pictures, finally got round to doing the last little bits to it. not to everyones taste but its what i was looking for, and i still have space for more tags
