  1. pre facelift was fat, facelift version is orca fat
  2. I thought a filter would outlast that sort of oil change frequency? This pump idea sounds like it could be quite handy (not to mention quicker) for those doing frequent oil changes - just so long as it gets all the old stuff out. Anyways, my advice is: just don't do an orthodox oil change in the wind. I ended up looking like a friggin' dalmation! lol as for oil filter; it should do fine for standard service intervals even with tracking it. i'd only look at changing the filter every 4-5k if i was FI agree with the oil change as an intermediary change between services; as the oil becomes less effective the more heat cycles it goes through and the more extreme the heat cycles the soon it would need changing.
  3. thats an insane build; shame its a lada
  4. come on mike this is the non grumpy top gear thread, positives only
  5. 5th gear was all about the motoring and i found the format dull
  6. on the s2k forum there have been a couple of cases of oil filters not being replaced properly i.e done up tight enough, and the filter emtying the engine oil at 70mph leaving the engine dry. this was honda dealershis though
  7. best of luck; from what i hear she drinks from the furry cup
  8. good price on ebay but why wouldnt you cut all the hassle and let national sort it? its probably cheaper than a can of oil from halfrauds! i get to choose and supply my own oil; i know who's done the job and that its done properly. to be honest i doubt i'd get it as i only change the oil at service time and then my very good motorsport mechanic friends do it. if i tracked the car more and wanted to change the oil every 2.5 then it would be a good investment.
  9. abbey do the very nice motordyne XYZ pipe as well, you could probably have the whole lot done; parts fitting and remap all in one go at abbey and drive out with a new beast.
  10. not bad price on ebay, tempting; i suppose it cuts out the need to jack up a car etc.
  11. how much are they? any links to a buying site?
  12. i think sextons would supply all you need for fitting
  13. clever piece of kit, i suppose the only way to know you got all the oil is that the zed holds about 5 litres of oil, so when you have about 5 litres you're about there. i like the fact it goes into a sealed container, saves the risk of secondary spilling etc. (as for the link if you edit your post; highlight the link and then click on the youtube button above; just under the title box it will link it properly)
  14. i hold evo in high respect; especially for their online video reviews, just changed my subscription from topgear to evo for this year. i still enjoy topgear for its entertainment value, yes the setting a man on fire was staged; but who cares, i watch it because it make sme smile. if i want informative useful reviews on cars i read my evo mag and go online.
  15. if you buy from camskills which is probably the cheapest place around just don't click on the size you need that has runflat next to it. makes sense when you see the site. http://camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m61b0s0p0
  16. post a link to the youtube clip would you
  17. so a beer wee would have been apt no need for violence and the risk of loosing a good mate, but enough to strike a karmic balance and some humourt thrown in as well
  18. i would have at least wee'd in his beer that night for such an automotive faux pas
  19. on these oil pump thingies (must admit i've never seen one) how likely is it to come detatched during use and leak oil all over your engine bay?
  20. i might get flammed for this, but isn't the link meant to go to a nissan (general) forum ? would nissan sportz not be the ideal link? as it covers a wide variety of sports nissan cars. i know this forum is better; this is why i use it and not the other one, but on this occasion would NS not be the better link? let flaming commence
  21. whats so difficult about unscrewing the sump bolt?
  22. 2006 saw lots of regulation changes for manufacturers, everything from emmissions to safety etc. part of these changes saw the end of the S2000 and the mr2 roadster as neither met new guidlines for future manufacturing.
