I work with Stainless Steel, and it does corrode (normally because it's cheap @*!#). It just take a lot more time/weathering for it to happen. Also very much depends on the alloy make up of the steel in question. So what are your exhaust plans now then?

As I say, it wasn't my intention, but I understand that it will be taken that way. That being said, surely you can see why I would be apprehensive in posting a video. Well now....you may not have done this to appear like a knob. But guess what you have achieved.....yup - you look like a knob. IMO you purposely left out information in an attempt to be able to claim a "one up" on whoever you could. Bit of a di** move. Any such action like this in the future and you will be receiving a warning point for unacceptable behavior. But anyway - you missed a reason as to why people said it sounded like it was blowing. As a number of members said, the standard of audio gear seriously distorts what an exhaust sounds like. Especially at idle and low revs. Thus to my ears, that sounded like it was blowing.

Check that it starts when already warm. That's an early indication of failing apex seals. An 07 will already have had the oil pipe and suspension corrosion issues sorted. They are epic cars to blat around in. So well balanced. Made even better with a properly set up set of coilovers and some good rubber.

I've sold 4 cars to wbac in the past 4 years. Each time I was honest on the online form about the cars condition. Once at their offices in each occasion I was given the same amount that they had offered me online. 2 of the 4 times were instead of part ex, and both of those were more than dealer would pay me. Other 2 were simply because I didn't have the time to sell privately. If you understand their business practice and you like the convenience, then there is no reason not to use them. Just be sure to be 100% honest on the online declaration. Although the caveat to all that is it depends how picky/good the person at the wbac you deal with is.

Thanks, this is the kind of response I was hoping for. Other than location and distance of pipe, is it really any different to just straight piping after the Y-pipe? Does that extra few feet of pipe really make that much difference? Bit of a stretch, but the SLR exhausts come out behind the front wheels... My understanding (bearing in mind my info I based on marine engineering) is this - you want to get exhaust out if an engine as fast as possible. But to achieve this you need more fuel/air mix and bigger bang at a faster rate. So performance cars of some types have short exhausts because they have machinery that can keep up with demand. However your average car simply can't keep up, so exhaust gas is sent to the safest place to be ejected - the back. This is why in ship design big ships that have slow speed diesels that run at 120rpm have exhausts that go many meters up to the top of the boat. Where tugs that run medium speed diesels at much higher rpm have the shortest exhausts possible (also aids visibility) As said - that could be somewhat incorrect but it is my understanding.

Smaller hole will actually do the opposite as it'll have a venturi effect as you lift off the throttle. As to whether air will actually get in - I couldn't say. Not my area of expertise. I'm against exhaust leaks in principle though - in my industry exhaust leaks kill people.
