IIRC this was introduced to stop car jacking and such like when you stop at lights. I think all Merc's, Audi's, Beemer's have it as standard now.

I am sure I read on a US forum that changing to a stubby will affect the satnav reception. Would be worth a go for the price of a stubby IMO

Just ask the MOT tester to road test the car, rather than putting it on the rolling road. Thats what I did and I was more than happy for him to go for a spin round the block. If he was a 19yr old trainee on the other hand I would have taken my car else where
