  4. You'll struggle with A and B. Insurance Loss Categories - Quick reference * Category A - Must be crushed. All of it. * Category B - Vehicle may not be returned to road but parts may be sold. * Category C - Repairable. Significant damage. Cost of the repair is more than book value of vehicle at dealer rates. * Category D - Repairable. Probably non-structural damage. May have been economic to repair, but insurer doesn't want to. * Category X - Repairable. Minor Damage
  5. No but they are different compounds. So could possible have different traction? But I admit I do not have a degree in rubber compounds. Or are winter tyres made of the same compound as normal/summer tyres? If they are, then all the manufacturers in the world and all the governments in the world have hoodwinked 'all/some/a few/not some' the drivers in the world.
  6. Big statement Dan, so hundreds of Governments and people around the world have got it wrong ! More grip on cold compacted snow/ice? No chance, you cannae break the laws of physics Jim. Go and get a brick and slide it on an icy pond. Then get another brick and place it on 400 grit sand paper and slide it on the icy pond. Then get another brick and place it on 60 grit sand paper and slide it on the icy pond. If they all slide to the same point at the same speed. Then I'll believe your version of physics.
  7. Big statement Dan, so hundreds of Governments and people around the world have got it wrong ! Is that the same as a T shirt is not colder than a jumper. :p

  16. For a good winter wax, try Collinite 476s. Apply very sparsely with a damp applicator. Tis good stuff. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item19d0966f4a
  17. So that would be 'satin' then.
  18. I believe there is a 'major' wiper zone and a 'minor' wiper zone these days. This year, technically my Subaru should have failed because of the sat nav mount. The tester thought it daft so gave it a pass rather than a fail. So that saved me having to remove it so he could pass it and me then putting it back.
