  1. Hey, i bought the car with it already fitted, and apart from moving the IC, replumbing the coolant circuit (which is great on the stillen as it is its own closed loop with simple electric pump), moving the 'ECU' and gubbins, changing the fuel fittings for additional injector i haven't meddled with the install. I think on the stage 3 you don't have the 'ECU' or uprated fuel pump and injector? So less to fit initially until you get the additional upgrades :-)
  2. Yeah, i agree that power wise the Vortech can produce more. I guess i was trying to answer the OP original question by introducing more questions on personal preferences, available funds, aim, use etc :-). For example id personally rather have the sound than the 50hp (in the case of my 350 because of what i have it for).
  3. Hey, im a little late to this thread i guess. I have a Stillen stage 4 S/C in my 350. There are far too many threads all over the net crying about this S/C or the other and in most case apples are being compared with bananas and vice versa. Choice of supercharger will depend on a huge number of personal preference or personal situation elements (price, self fitting ability, install price, sound, upgradability, etc) and comparisons can be irrelevant depending on those personal preferences, and on support mods, the actual map, the driving style etc etc /insert endless list here. I drove 2 vortech S/C 350s before the Stillen i have now, before looking at any printouts of claimed figures and without consider who had mapped each and to which instructions/ability/preference and without considering supporting mods (or actually, compatible mods - since not all mods help) i have to say that power wise they didnt FEEL much different. One of the Vortechs seems to add the power a bit later up the revs, but otherwise they 'felt' comparable. Personally i would vote one against the other if it were mebuying one now today. The huge difference in the 2 kits however is the sound of the Stillen!! and that, is one of preferences :-)
  4. whoops, i just saw the date on the previous post which was a week or so ago. The spoiler will have fallen off by now hopefully :-p
  5. I don't have any taste either when it comes to 2F2F, but.... there is nothing about that spoiler that matches any of the lines of the 350
  6. March i'm 50/50 for at the moment, i'm currently due out of country 1st or 2nd week. Ill keep an eye on the Regional Meets :-)
  7. Depends on the Marque i think. If you are selling a Lambo Huracan or a GT3 turbo i guess autotrader has more of your buying audience looking at their pages more regularly than people looking for a sub 12k fun-machine? Ebay is great for exposure, opens you to a nationwide search for all, but also to a lot of timewasters. Gumtree is much more localized, but varies from region to region as to how popular it is. Pistonheads is great for sub 15k i find but also full of folks who think 8k ono means 2k plus a top end rattling fiesta as px. At end of the day, advertising nationally will give you great exposure but be ready to spend time weeding out the bullshitters. Ebay is almost free and gumtree completely free. Pistonheads thereafter then autotrader top end? I agree with marzman, AT to me seems outdated unless looking for a 70K plus motor, and with ebay you can check out potential buyers history
  8. I have the Stillen cat back system (inc Y-Pipe) and its really OAP at low revs with just a hint of 'something' on idle but with some foot prodding it all gets rather interesting for the ear. The ARK Grip true dual looks 3million times better of course if you like the true jap slash look like i do, but the Stillen was on this when i bought it.
  9. So ive been a little quiet of late, unfortunately not with mischief, but this weekend i did manage to redo my wheels after some time of debating what colour to go for. Feedback from other Z-maniacs came in with anything from 'dont go gold, but go kind of gold, to Gunmetal, to some sort of bronze. All of that was already swimming around in my head until suddenly the answer came! Why do i need to choose a colour!!!???? So i present my wheel job. Forgive the lighting and also bare in mind this paint job change so much depending on light and angle its really not possible to gauge this unless you see it in person.
  10. Welcome, from also near Aberdeen. Nice line up of motors there :-)
  11. Hello... don't knock the original Nova Merit. I had one around the same time as you, then stuck a 2l 16v engine in it without seam welding the bulkhead joins... needless to say it didn't last long either :-p I never head of a trader dragging their heels before?..... something to double check on before doing the deal perhaps?
  12. Colour coded? with black grille mesh, then you can wrap and unwrap to your hearts content?
  13. If the stereo is powering up then your ground is ok. As i say, check you have connected the blue amp switching wire - this is the most common thing people miss, just use some crimp bullet connectors, no solder required.
  14. cheers BM .had the carpet up yesterday but never saw anything apart from the alarm siren box . ill take another look and see if i missed the obvious lol Once you lift that floor cover (when you see the alarm sounder) you then need to remove that large black lump of polyfoam on the left side (as you look into teh boot - opposite corner from your alarm siren). The amp is hiding under that. We are of course assuming you have the bose system with subwoofer behind driver seat right?
  15. Do you have the Nissan Bose sound system as standard? If so have you connected the amp switch on wire (the blue with white stripe)? This is not part of the wiring harness but will come direct from your new head unit and needs to be connected to the same blue wire on the car harness side. One issue i found is that the Bose amp doesn't like the amp switch blue wire so in my case i just piggy backed the ACC wire to the car side amp switch on blue wire instead
  16. But check first before changing any wiring! my new Xtrons android 5.1 HU wiring was correct as far as Yellow/Red goes.
  17. Hello Not a certain azure blue from even further up north with HKS S/C fitted by chance?
  18. I guess you got this fixed up already, but if not: Its 8mm ID. Confirmed. If your expansion tank is in the stock location then probably any hose will do, but if like me you have it relocated then you may like the wire reinforced silicone hoses as they bend better with no chance of kinking. I got mine from ASH, 8mm ID and a crazy over engineered OD though i guess other outlets do these too

  20. Hey all, has anyone fitted an Xtrons unit to their Z? I'm interested to know which facia you used that actually fitted? I just fitted a TD696, with 350z DE facia surround from 'incartec' and while it fits the dash perfectly it doesn't even come close to fitting the head unit - i mean a little trimming here and there fair enough but this would need a butchering to fit, and i doubt id manage to the cuts perfectly straight. Any facia surround experience from any model of Xtrons guys will be much appreciated! The unit itself is great, once you figure out the amp signal wire from the HU gets ignored by the car which doesn't understand to then allow ACC to the Bose - FIX being just attach ACC from the head unit to the amp switch on on the car/ISO harness.... Going to play with the bluetooth OBD module later Anyone interested in possibly going Chinese android and want feedback on this unit just let me know
  21. The standard box i have but don't use also has this foam. I assumed it was either a water drainer trap? though can't see it being very effective. The question is do you gain 30hp by fitting the foam? or by removing it ?
  22. Difficult choice those colours. Be interesting to see with sun hitting them
  23. I think one slight negative of the Z is cabin noise. For sure not the loudest around, but i figured id see about refining it a little. So to compliment a boot divider that's on its way from 14N i decided to do a bit of Dynamat Extreme. Which led me to think id better put something better in the double din slot, not that im big on ICE these days, but hey, why not. Now to decide what to do speaker wise though im thinking a simple upgrade to the rears and a straight swap 10" sub with small amp, then do the fronts with some two piece things. Spare wheel and tools wont be going back in either Not a big project but may take me a little while as i also have some plans for the rest of the interior since itll all be ripped out in any case.....................
  24. Big mission of this weekend was to replace those stock rims. So, mission successful and she now sits on Flow Forged ZF2's. 10.5x19 rear, 9.5x19 fronts, 25mm offset all round, no spacers.
  25. If you apply it correctly it removes very easily. Many people say its a caper but that's because they didn't apply it right. If done countless wheels, random items and cars also and can tell you it works perfectly. Depending on the actual product brand you will need a certain minimum number of coats, for example genuine plastidip from cans apply 7 coats total. Ensure the rims are very very clean, use solvent or other specialist cleaner/pre dip. For the first coat make a real light tack coat, then the remaining coats all light but to coverage. It will seem like after 4 or 5 coats it looks great but DONT STOP, do all 7 coats as this is the key to easy peel when it comes time to remove (attempt to save yourself 10 quid here and the whole job will be broken). Don't be tempted to do thick coats, as these may cause runs, especially if you are new at dipping. Make sure the space you are dipping in has a nice temperature and that the cans and the wheel itself are warm (sit the cans in a bucket of hot water - this will help the flow at nozzle greatly). Take your time, plan the job to be dust and moisture free and it works out perfect. Other products get away with different number of coats, fulldip works with 5 for example.
